Having trouble with Disney Magical Express...

I'm having trouble with the disney magical express. I have tried calling the disney magical express, but I guess since I rented through a DVC member the guy told me to call the DVC member services. So I did, but none of the options that the operator listed seemed like the right one for making a DME reservation... The overall impression I got from the DVC member services number is that it is only for the actuall members. (Which obviously makes sense). So do I need the person I rented the points from to call for me and make the reservation, and give them my address for where to send the luggage tags? Or can someone tell me which options I need to choose from the operator at the DVC member number to get me to the right person?

Yes. All DVC-related transactions have to be handled by the Member. The person from whom you rented will have to make the reservation, and you will have to provide him with all the necessary information.

Actually just call member services, give them your reservation number and if your name is on the reservation they will book the DME for you. You do not have to get the member to call for this since it does not change anything on your reservation.

Everytime I call MS, the first thing they want to know is your member # before they will even talk to you about anything.

I don't think that's ture. Member Services will NOT talk to non-members any longer. Doing what you suggest would "confirm" the reservation which they won't do any longer.

Now I think you can call DME directly. Hopefully someone has the number.

To the OP, tell your member that DVC does NOT talk to non members and when decided to rent he took on that responsiblity.....

recently someone posted the website to sign up for DME. Maybe you can check the search function on the disney website and find that. I didn't know you could do this, but checked it out and it does exist. I've never used it. Also I'm a DVC member and MS will not talk to anyone who is not a member anymore. You have to have that member number first before they will proceed.

DVC Member Services will not speak to you if you are not a member. You will have to have the member you are renting points from call them to make the DME arrangements. There may be places on-line that you can try to sign up at, but I can't remember where they are.

DME stands for Disney's Magical Express, and the direct phone number for DME is 866-599-0951.

When you call 407-W-DISNEY you get the Disney Reservations Center, formerly known as Central Reservations Office. If you have any esoteric DME questions, you want to AVOID calling DRC/CRO. Call DME directly with those tough questions.

UPDATE: This link was for travel agents only. I tried to use it for our August trip and I just got an email telling me that is was not for the public. I've since used the one on the DVC member stie and it worked perfectly. I would hate anyone to use this and arrived without a reservations!
