thought about a Jedi Knight but i am a "little", just a bit, not a lot, overweight, so instead of Luke Skywalker i might look more like Luke Hamburger..........then i thought about a pirate but there is always so many of them......then i saw a cool "zoot suit" but at 5 ft 9 instead of looking like a cool roaring 20's type i might come off more like Groucho Marx...........then i thought about a gangster but my daughter said that everyone would just think i was fresh off my shift at TGMR and start trying to trade pins with me.................. anyone seen anything different or cool, or something you may have worn that you might suggest to me? i promise pictures so there is a laugh in it for ya:)

We did a theme and went as characters from Peter Pan. Could you talk your son into a Peter Pan costume? Your daughter could be Wendy and you could be Mr. Smee? Pretty easy costume and comfy.

Go as 'extreme' tourists just home from Hawaii. You know... The men can wear a Hawaiian shirt, a lai, zinc on your nose, big straw hat (I know you like hats!), colorful shorts, sunglasses, white socks with Birkenstocks, carry a ukulele, carry a wrinkled map, etc. The ladies can wear a muumuu or grass skirt, zinc on their nose, a lai, flower in her hair or greenery crown, greenery braclets & anklets, etc. My neighbors did this last year and everyone LOVED them!! I wish I had taken a picture...

this is kind of embarrassing..........but........this is how we always look..........:rotfl2:

Here is a pic. My sister is the Tick Tock croc that ate Hook's hand. It's kinda hard to see, but that's an alligator hat on her head. People loved her costume.

Yep, OKW, we were headed over to the bus stop at the Hospitality House when I took that.

The little guy is my nephew, that's his "look." The other day I asked him if he was excited to go back to school and he said "No." and I said "Why? You love learning?" and he goes "There isn't anything I want to learn that I can't teach myself." :rotfl:

She can re-purpose that clock this year and go as Flava Flav! :rotfl2:
All kidding aside, that's such a great use of a group theme!

I'd love to get a group together and pick a character from an attraction. My friend has made a costume as "The Redhead" from Pirates of the Caribbean, ans she's going this year, a few days before I arrive, sadly. I would have dressed up as the "Opera Singer" from the Haunted Mansion. I wish I knew others who would have completed that theme. That would be fun.

Story of my life! Deciding on what to do for MNSSHP is always a challenge. It has to be functional, comfortable, but still a cool costume at the same time. Difficult choices!

If you're all going as a family again you could do anything from Aristocats (although getting a little boy to dress up as a kitty might not work lol), UP (I'd love to go as Kevin someday), or the ever popular pirate family or Incredibles theme.

I don't know, I'm bad at suggestions. But I guess whatever really fits your family's personalities!

Me and DH are going as villans from DuckTales. I'm sure a lot of people will have no idea who we are because the show has been off the air for a long time but we aren't doing it for them anyways.

Who is being Magica De Spell? Is very good villainess master mind.

I am Magica De Spell, DH is Flintheart Glomgold. We got wigs, duck beaks, etc., I hope people are as dressed up as us for the first party of the season. This is our first time so I really do not know what to expect.

A friend of ours cane to a party one year dressed as a caution barrel. He had one and cut holes for his arms and head. Wore bright orange sweats and painted his face/hands orange. Best costume of the night. Not good for riding rides...not to mention that most folks don't have a caution barrel! lol

You could always go as a sad little crab cake. :)

i leave all the food related stuff to our world famous food critic..................besides........i would end up as a hive as i am allergic to seafood.

I feel your pain... I have gone back & forth on my costume and finally went with my heart and bought my Sally from A Nightmare Before Christmas from buycostumes.com.
I came up with a great one for my Mom and we have started working on it. She's going as Mama Odie from Princess & the Frog! Lightweight, easy and comfortable!
