Having to check a carry-on at the last minute

We are flying JetBlue. First time flying. Our seats are in the 16th row on the way down and the 14th row on the return flight. We both intend to bring a personal item that will fit under the seat and a carry-on for each of us. I am going to be gate checking my mobility scooter, not sure if that would change my boarding position or not. I will also have a "medical bag" that will have my scooter cushion and basket in it so they don't get damaged or lost. I'm hoping they will let me board ahead of time. But if not, what are the chances of having to check a carry-on at the last minute due to lack of storage in the overhead bins?
Thanks,
Pat

Slim. jetBlue's overhead space seems larger than most other airlines', and unless you're me traveling between Boston and Las Vegas, you should be able to preboard - if not before everyone, at least right after the Extra Legroom passengers.

The chances that you will have to check a carry-on if the overhead bins are full are 100%. No one can possibly know if you will encounter this situation on your flight.

You're welcome, but lost in cyberspace is right too. If you do have to board last, one or more of your overhead bags may get gate-checked.
