After planning this vacation for months and switching my accomodations several times, I finally bid through Priceline. I thought for sure I would get the Wyndham, but ended up with Marriott Orlando World Center.

We will be staying there two nights in October, then going to HRH club level at Universal for 2 nights. Someone, please reassure me my plans are okay!!! I am kicking myself now for being impatient and using Priceline. It was a good rate $71. per night, but it was the hotel I least wanted to stay at...

Please help stop me panicking~!! We have three kids under 9 and this is our first trip to Florida. I'm so afraid the hotel will not be "kid friendly" as it is a convention center.

Thanks,
Mom to Ken, Dan & Tom

I have heard many times that the Orlando World Center is VERY nice. It certainly looks impressive from the road.

Try doing a search on this board to check past posts about this resort. If it were me, I would be pleased with this one but I've been curious about it. This sounds like a good price too. Here's a link to the Marriott website page that shows this resort:

Hey, they even have childcare available! That sounds pretty kid friendly to me. :)

We stayed here last year also via priceline. I thought it was a beautiful hotel. I don't know about it being kid friendly, but it did have a grown-up feel. My kids were 10 and 13 and had no complaints. The pool area is wonderful, take time to enjoy it if you can.

Join the Marriott Rewards program (it's free) on their website. When I was checking in I requested a pool view room and the girl behind the desk mentioned that because this was a priceline ressie she really couldn't give us a preferred room, ok fine, then I remembered my Marriott Rewards card and presented it. Then she said, oh, why didn't you said you had this card and immediately gave us a pool side room. It was great, 1st floor poolside... we just had to walk out our sliding glass doors and over to the pool without going through the lobby. Have fun and don't worry.

It sounds like you have 5 in your family, PL only guarantees 2 to a room. If you only bid on 1 room you may have problems. PL should only be used if you have no preference as to where you stay.

I wouldn't worry. I stayed at the Marriott in May of last year with my girlfriend and her daughter and my son. The kids loved this hotel. It has about 6 or 7 pools and they loved the slide in the main pool. They also have an arcade and an inside pool where we went one rainy night.

We ate at or ordered from Champions Restaurant in the lobby every night. They have great kids meals which can fill up any adult, and they're less than $5! There is also a Starbucks and a Haagen Dazs and two other restaurants.

I know some people complain about the "convention" feel of this hotel, which did not bother us in the least. It is a Four Star hotel in every sense of the word and I wrote them an email afterwards to commend them! One of the execs started reading the DIS after that, also!

We stayed there about 2 years ago and really liked it. They have a really nice slide in their swimming pool. The lobby area is big and bright - we stayed there with a convention rate @99.00 per night and felt we got our money's worth!

I'm another happy Priceline user who got the Marriott last year! Call the hotel and request a room with 2 beds. The rooms in the older section have a single sofa bed, so the room can accommodate 5 people. The pool is fabulous!

To everyone who replied.... THANK YOU!

I am just going to go with the flow and enjoy it no matter what! How can we not have a great time in WDW???

Thanks again,
