I booked concierge level at the GF. Is it worth it? I'm traveling with DH, DD5 and DD2. I don't know the difference in price, but I'm sure it's $$. Right now, we are staying in the main building. That would change if I cancelled concierge, I'm sure.

When I made the reservation, I was on Cloud 9. I'm sure I would've agreed to ANYTHING she offered, because I was so excited. Now, however, I think I'd rather put that money toward other things (Princess Tea Party, souveniers, etc), unless you think concierge is worth the cost.

What do you think? Worth it? Not? :confused3 I'd appreciate your opinions!!!

Should I really be pulling my hair out about this when I'm not leaving until '07 :rotfl: ??

Why not go middle of the road...switch to Sugar Loaf concierge? That way you still have the concierge experience but at a significantly lower cost. You won't be in the main building but Sugarloaf is just right outside the back of the main building so it's not far away. It doesn't have the same atmosphere with hearing the orchestra play but you do get the same food offerings and preplanning assistance. Depending on when you are going the difference in price between main building Royal Palm Club and Sugarloaf Lodge Concierge is between $150 (value season) and $170 (holiday season) per night.

We like to be comfortable and have a nice time but honestly money matters. If you can afford it then go with the extra services but if you would be happy with your room and a bit extra money, then I say not.

Only you will know what is best for your family. Good luck, April

I would think you can still get a room in the main building, but not sure. I'd call and get the prices for different rooms, then see what you're dealing with. I'm sure the savings will be $$$$.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to check out Sugarloaf, see the price difference, and then decide. After checking out allearsnet, I realized that I don't need it. But if I can save $100+, while staying in Sugarloaf, then that's what I'm going to try and do.

Thanks!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Hi, GF is my favorite resort ( and I have stayed at just about all the WDW deluxes - none can compare).

The main building is only concierge rooms & suites. The lounge is bright and airy with a beautiful ambience. The CMs are super friendly and helpful and are willing to get you anything you ask for. The views from the lounge are so pretty - you can see the Poly, the CR, and the main pool and garden courtyard area. The rooms in the main building also have these views or a castle view (which is beautiful). The lounge is on the 4th floor and the concierge staff has their desk/office area on the 3rd.

Sugar loaf has the same food offerings and CM hours, but not the nice lounge or the open bright feel with plenty of seating as the main buiding lounge has. The concierge staff sits right there off the lounge. It is homey and pretty, but doesn't have the same feel as the main building at all. To me (and I know to others) it feels kind of dark due to the fact that there are no windows. No view. The rooms in SL will have either marina or courtyard view. No MK views.

I have stayed in both SL and the main buiding. My DH (who is a major cheapy, LOL) prefers the main building - and that says a lot. He doesn't even care to do SL again. There was no wow factor. TGM kind of says the same thing. SL is second best. Still nice, but not quite.....

Since your trip is so far off, did you get a AAA rate?? That would help, or you could hope for an AP discount.

I agree with Kelly on the fact that if you stay concierge at GF do the main building. The only problem is once you do it, NOTHING else will feel the same.

I love that place!! :goodvibes Just spent my 40th there in July and they upgraded us to the Walt Disney Suite. :wizard: It was a dream trip. Magical. We are booked for a week over Xmas now. Before every trip I question the amt of money to be spent, and always waffle on it, but I go thru with my main building because I KNOW I have tried other resorts and am always disappointed in the service, housekeeping, friendliness, etc. Honestly every stay at the GF has exceeded my expectations. I always feel really good about my decision. We have had many fabulous stays there. It is the BEST.

Happy planning!

If you can afford to do Royal Palm Club without pinching pennies and going in to debt, it's great! If not, Sugarloaf is nice too. It really depends on what you want out of the experience too. Will you use the lounge or do you just want to grab some goodies and run to your room or to the pool?

If you are considering Sugarloaf, take a look at http://www.thehawkinsfamily.org/thf/sugar_loaf.htm#SL2 about Sugarloaf. :)
