Having Pictures Taken

I've read several posts about having pictures taken at the parks by CM's......is this like they do when you're on a cruise, and there is a central location for viewing and deciding whether or not to buy them?

I'm so confused............

Any help would be great, since we leave in 2 weeks to drive down!

Right, it is sort of similar to the cruise system. Each park has a central location where the pictures can be purchased. When you have your picture made, they give you a sheet of paper with a number on it, and then you take that to that park's picture location.

The onride pictures are at that ride, at the exit, not to be confused...so if it's taken by an individual, at the park location for pictures, if it's one of the ride pictures, it's at the ride...Like ToT, Dinosaur, Splash Mtn, etc.

They were even doing pictures at Chef Mickey's for dinner and Mickey's Backyard Barbecue. Needless to say, we had a string of bad luck with pictures from both of those places. Our group was a party of 12 and we wanted something special to remember our trip. Well, they lost our pictures from BOTH of those sittings! Fortunately, they made up for the errors and gave us free pictures in front of Cinderella's Castle for the problems! Better setting, that is for sure!!!!!

for explaining this new thing to me. We haven't been in four years, so I had a feeling it was a new program. We've purchased "ride" pix before - I'm easy to spot with my mouth WIDE open in every one!!!

Starting to pack the RV :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

And take advantage of the delivery service back to FW, saves carrying the pictures around and probably damaging them. Enjoy the trip. Keep packing. :)

Can anyone tell me where in the parks are the places that you can have this done besides the rides?

Thanks,

Usually they are taken at the entrance, Deb. DD and I also had our picture taken on the lazy river inside the cave at Blizzard Beach. I think that the photographers are around most of the day.

Also don't hesitate asking a CM to take a photo of your family with your own camera. On several occasions a CM has seen me lining up DW,DS & DD for a pic and volunteered to take it so I could be in it as wel. I know some people are leary about asking strangers to take their pic but they shouldn't feel that way asking a CM

I have to agree wholeheartidly with zcomic. Every time my wife & I would try the "point & hope" shots of us together, and a CM was around, they would always ask if they could take it for us. WE got some good shots that we wouldn't have been able to get otherwise...like us w/ Goofy & Pluto @ LTT.

I love taking pictures of other families (with their cameras, of course!). On our last trip, our camera broke, so I spent the time taking other peoples' pics... lol

Plus, I am a good photographer, so I can guarantee their heads are in the pictures!

They take the pictures at some of the more popular character meet & greets throughout the parks too.

I agree with this as well. DH and I did it numerous times on our trip, the CM's were happy to do it. We even had the CM who takes pictures of you as you enter the parks take a picture of us with our camera too. They didn't hesitate. They are so used to it, they know how to get the best shots.

I do a lot of photography, and will often ask a family if they want me to take a picture with all of them. You will often see mom taking a pic with dad and the kids and vice versa.

I have only stolen 2-3 cameras over the years. (only kidding)

Most people are appreciative of the offer.

We have had our pictures taken too many places :p- most characters lines have a photographer now- they give you a ticket and tell you where and when to pick them up- you can also call after you leave the parks and pay for them sight unseen with a hefty shipping charge- did this once as Grandma swore it was a good pic - it was worth every penny- anyway I digress- Our favorites are at night in front of Epcot dome near walkway to worldshowcase - with Aladdin in Morroco- with characters in toontown in back of judges tent- with Mickey in his house-qwith the characters in camp minnie mickey at AK- with soccerer Mickey in MGM this is a great one hardly ever a line - it's near trailers down the road from Ariel show- we also always ask for the photographer to use our camera and often they are as good - we try to only buy the best ones but it is hard!! Have fun don't spend too much once you get the habit you'll be in the photo line-:p

Have to share a kind of funny picture taking story. My girlfriend, an amatuer photographer, and I were killing some time at the GF while our dd's were at the Tea Party. We were in one of the gift shops when a group of about 5 ladies came up to me and asked if I would mind taking a picture of their group. Well, I took one look at the woman's camera and had a heart attack. I am definatly a point and shoot kinda gal. This was no point and shoot camera! My girlfriend looks at the camera and gets all excited. "It's just like mine, it's just like mine. I'll take the shot!" Seems she was afraid to bring her pricey camera on this trip and was having to make do with a disposable one. She was in 7th heaven fooling around with exposures and such. So, the moral of this story is.....just ask people to help you out. Most are more than willing, especially the CM's, to take photos.

Are you able to charge the cost of the photos to your room or do you have to pay for them with cash at the time you purchase them?

TIA.

We didn't do any of these pictures. We always let them take them ,but we never bought them. The one and only one we did buy was inside the Exhibition Hall. They do a fake kind of scenery. Why I was too cheap to buy the park ones and not the fake one, I don't know. That is my biggest regret. They aren't too expensive, and they are good pictures. A definite for this trip is to buy one from each park.

I'm sure you can charge them - either tot he room or directly on your credit card. I don't really remember this, but I never carry cash or pay cash for anything...I charge everything -- and I bought a bunch of these park photos without any trouble (I am sure I would have remembered if someone wanted cash from me!)

We always put our photo purchases on our room card.

We set them up in the room (they come in a nicely themed, sturdy paper frame) across the top of the armoire so they greeted us (and housekeeping) each time we came back from the parks.

We bought the Main Street (Castle shot), and the Lilo and Stitch at MGM, as well as Splash Mountain, but we love these so much, we are determined to get more of them next time!
