Having family who lives in Florida visit you at the resort and stay a night with you in your Villa, is there a fee for them to park overnight?

My family has a Disney Vacation coming up in September and we will be staying at Old Key West Resort (on DVC points as DVC members). My Aunt and Cousin who live in Florida are planning to visit us at the resort and stay in our room with us for a night (our room is a two bedroom villa) I am wondering do they have to pay a fee to park their car overnight when they stay with us in our room for the one night? they have never stayed overnight with us before. Any help and info is greatly appreciated.

I believe you have to add them to your reservation for that night. I could be wrong. Most resorts (if not all) allow 3 hour parking for dining reservations.

Yes!
If they are overnight guests you will need to add them to your reservation (if room occupancy allows), you can do this at the resort anytime prior to their arrival. If there are more than 2 adults in a studio there is a fee per each extra adult, there is no extra adult fee in the one bedroom and larger. They will also have to pay the parking fee.

If you are a DVC Member staying on points, just add them to your reservation. They will get their own Magic Band, and they can park for free. If you are getting it as a hotel room, I am not experienced in that. So follow the advice of the other posters.

If your reservation at OKW is on a DVC reservation, they will be able to park overnight for free once they are added to your reservation. You should be able to add them to your reservation as long as you still have occupancy in your villa and won't exceed it. If you booked a reservation at OKW via Disney Reservation Center or some other booking site for cash, both you and they will need to pay to park overnight.

The great thing about DVC, is that there is no additional fee for extra adults after the first 2 (even in a studio). They won’t have to pay the parking fee as they are staying in a room booked through DVC. The parking fees are part of the dues paid by members.

You are correct that when using DVC points there are no additional fees. I responded before the OP clarified they were DVC :) my apologies!

For those with a "cash booking" there is an extra adult fee (over 2) for the studio villa only - started in 2019.

I have two daughters in college and they are both over 18 but still travel with me. Up to this year the studio villa was the only option for us that didn't charge the extra adult fee.

My understanding is that renting DVC points allows you to park one vehicle overnight for free. If the OP will also have a vehicle there, then there might be an overnight parking charge for the second vehicle?

No, many villas have spaces for eight or more adults. Odds are you have more vehicles then.

When you book a DVC room, you must list each guest on the reservation. If they are listed on the reservation, they can park for free.

We stayed at Poly with more than 1 vehicle last year. Per member services as long as you are on points there is no parking fee for any vehicles you bring. Just make sure they are added to your reservation.

just add their names to your reservation. This would also entitle them to magic bands so they could have room access. Having their names on the reservation would also allow them to park for free under your DVC membership. The only way this would cause you any problems would be if it would put you over the occupancy limit or if you had the dining plan - all people on the reservation have to have the dining plan. Otherwise just put their names on the reservation
