So this Sunday we are having a Christmas open house. Because the baby is just six months I really didn't want to lug him around so everyone is coming here. It is going from 2-8. Long but lots of people from out of the area are coming into town to finish their shopping. Anyway, I was thinking about how to remember year after year who comes how to preserve the day a bit. For our wedding we have a beautiful framed picture that hangs in our living room that everyone signed. I absolutely love it. Should I do something similar to that? Or what about signing a book? Like the night before christmas? I dunno. Help please! Lol. My mom had amazing Christmas eve parties every year but when she died they went away too. I want my kids to experience a bit of that.

This is what we have from our wedding (if this works) lol

I have been to parties where the host has all the guests sign a platter.

You could have a Christmas dish for guests to sign that you could use next season

I use a real guest book for big parties. We are a military family and host a lot of military families and I like to have their address and email. It's almost signing your life away in the book but I have one central location for people.

The picture is nice for a one time event but to do something annually like a Christmas party, you would run out of storage space for it.

A ceramic Christmas platter is nice to like the pp mentioned.

Great ideas guys! Thank you. I really like the guest book idea. And the platter! I'm not sure yet if it will be an annual event or not. I would like it to be. Lol.

How about a white table cloths and fabric markers? The guests can sign the tablecloth and date it, and then each time you ahve guests, they could add to the tablecloth.

Personally I think it would be fun to set up a "portrait spot" with a tripod and a camera.

You could take pictures with the people visiting.

After the fact you can use it for display, gifts, etc.

Make collage and frame it.

Or you can start a "Christmas album" in which you tuck away letters, special cards, pics YOU get sent, etc.

You could make ornaments, send people the pic in THEIR Christmas card, etc.

You know, brainstorm some fun stuff.:goodvibes
