Boy, that's a seriously subjective question. First, it sort of depends on your definition of "better", which can be quite different from person to person. What kind of trips do you like? What kind of activities? Do you mind long bus rides (although I'm not sure if Ireland has long bus drives, but Scotland does - and is totally worth it). What kinds of accommodations? (You don't stay in a castle in Scotland, but a couple of the Hotels are WONDERFUL!) I totally, absolutely LOVED the Scotland trip (although I'm sad they got rid of the trip to the Isle of Lewis) but I haven't taken the Ireland trip to compare it to. I think you might do better asking more specific questions on each trip than "Which is better". Because even if someone's done both, "better" is going to be depending on *their* preferences. Just my opinion...
I've done the Scotland trip and of my 5 ABDs Scotland is my favorite. Only with ABD will you be able to launch a canoe off of Urquhart Castle into Loch Ness so that is a pretty cool exclusive experience. Here is my trip report to give you an idea of what the trip is like. http://www.disboards.com/threads/our-scotland-brave-adventure.3150065/
I agree with Sayhello that it is a shame they eliminated the Isle of Lewis portion though. I am glad we did it when we did.
I know there are other trip reports on both Scotland and Ireland in the Trip Reports sticky. Feel free to ask any questions though about the Scotland ABD if you wish.
We just finished our Ireland ABD and we did much of Scotland on our own years ago. I'd love to go back with ABD. If they ever add the Isle of Lewis back in, it will likely go to the top of my list. You may just have to plan to do both!
My post was a bit vague. Oops. I think they are both awesome. It's just hard to decide which one to go on. Maybe get a poll to help? And maybe some more research...
What is the Isle of Lewis? Is that for Scotland or Ireland?

Ireland is amazing. And Scotland looks fab. I'd have signed up to do it next year if it wasn't for the Isle of Lewis being removed. I too am hoping it comes back next year for 2017.
Just looked up Isle of Lewis. I guess it would be too difficult to describe in words on here. They have pictures on this site: http://www.isle-of-lewis.com/
It is a very beautiful place. I hope they bring it back by the time I decide, lol.

Yes, Isle of Lewis is amazing. It's the northernmost of the Hebrides, a group of islands off the Northwest coast of Scotland. A lot of history, very charming town, the Callanish Standing stones. Just a really great place to visit. It was a real highlight of the trip!
