Having a strange FP+ booking problem

I could really use some help. I didn't find an answer by searching.

I'm a WDW veteran but this time I am going alone and a bit last minute, for a conference. I am extending my stay for a few days after the conference and am not staying on a Disney hotel reservation. To complicate matters, I am staying at the Dolphin on an Orbitz reservation because their prices were lower than conference rates. I spoke to a supervisor at Orbitz and they will not release my air or hotel booking number to me until 24 before use of the product.

I will be using leftover days from previously used park hopper tickets- one ticket has 1 day and the other, 2 days. I went to WDW last year and had no issues booking my FP selections online, but I was staying on property at POFQ. I am now traveling on March 13-18 and the website only allowed me to book the first of 3 days. When I try to book FPs for next 2 days, I get a pop-up telling me-

"The following Guests will be removed from the list"
Threehearts"

and

"Fastpass+ limit reached"

and I am frozen on that page. It is true that FP limit was reached on the one day I was able to book but that message show up on the days it won't let me book. I checked and my tickets are assigned to me and active. I logged in and out, still no luck. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I've tried to think of any scenario at all but am coming up with none.

Thanks in advance-

Ok, so although your Dolphin reservation would entitle you to book FP+ 60 days out, that's not relevant here since this is a last minute trip.

It just boils down to the linking of two separate tickets. It sounds like an IT issue. Maybe try calling Disney and ask for IT? Because it sounds like you've done everything correctly!

I'm confused. Are you trying to book three days of FP+ or five days? How many days worth of park tickets do you have?

Add a fake name/friend to your MDE and move the 2-day ticket to him. Check to see if the FP system will then allow you to book using that ticket. You'll need to use that ticket at the entrance and FP lines.

If it doesn't work, maybe that ticket is no longer valid? Was it a non-expiring ticket and did it belong to you?

Since there are only 3 days of tickets in your MDE account, you can only book FP+ for three days. If the Dolphin reservation includes tickets, you need to get the Disney reservation number from Orbitz and add it to your MDE to book more than three days of FP+. Keep calling them and speak to other people, even ask for a supervisor. Others have been able to get the Disney number from Orbitz far in advance.

Thanks everyone for your replies. It's been a long day trying to straighten this out but I think I have.

Here's what happened-

I first called Orbitz to get my Doplhin confirmation number so that I could link my reservation to MDE. TWICE, i was given and incorrect number and on the third call to a supervisor, she said, "well, that's what's on the record here, so there is nothing more we can do." Lovely.

Next, I called the Dolphin directly and spoke to guest services. The woman told me that the conf. numbers Orbitz had given me were way off which I already knew since we're Starwood Platinum and stayed at the hotel countless times. She gave me the correct number and I successfully attached it to MDE.

The ticket mess and inability to book more than one day of Fastpasses despite having 3 days of an active ticket on my MDE file.

******THANK YOU TINKSO!
I did end up setting up a phony profile as a new family member and attached it to an extra park hopper I had. I used that for the remaining 2 days. This was the simplest solution.

What I learned-
For me, even with the reduced rate on the hotel, Orbitz wasn't worth the hassle. I don't get SPG points and the fact that it took about 6 hours or more to straighten everything out, was just not worth not booking directly. I do understand however, that most people are very happy with their Orbitz experience.

As far as airline tickets go with Orbitz. I have a package. I am flying JetBlue via Orbitz. I received a confirmation number From Orbitz that JetBlue told me is an Orbitz confirmation # and JetBlue will not allow me to have the correct confirmation until 24 hours before my flight leaves. They said this is because it a consolidator purchase and I confirmed this info with Orbitz. There were no available seats but only high additional costs ones so I was hoping to check my flight each day to look for better seats. I can't do this with an Orbitz ticket on JetBlue. It could be different with other airlines but this is a huge PITA and leaves me with the usual poor last minute seat choices.

The problem with booking Fastpasses where I kept being told by the system that I had reached my Fasspass limit which wasn't true. I did a ton of research today on what to do about that. I didn't call Disney IT but instead did what was recommended by several other people including Tinkso here on the Dis. And yes, I do know that this is probably not legal, in the rules etc.

The reason I created the fake MDE profile is because there were many reports from people who had mucked around with trying to delete a card and then reassign it and then finding that the cards no longer worked. NO people reported any problems with doing what I did. Just use one day of my original card and the next two days, use the other profile's card. I am not using a magic band.

Thanks again and I'm pretty sure I haven't been clear at all in my explanations but I tried to be. :)

I'm glad that worked for you. And, it is legal. You can have whatever friends and family you want in your MDE account and link valid tickets to them.

Do enjoy your trip!

Just curious- does linking a Swan/Dolphin reservation to MDE do anything besides allowing 60-day FP+ booking?

I know complimentary theme park parking and EMH can be accessed by showing your key card, but if you link it can you use a Magic Band (if you have one) for those benefits?

Because the Dolphin info is linked to MDE, when a parking lot CM or and entrance CM scans the MB, they'll see all the necessary info.
