Going this Friday to see Lilo and Stitch with a bunch of friends and a bunch of kids. I am planning a hawiian get together after the movie and need hawiian recipe ideas ! The kids ages range from 3 to 15 and would love to make somethings that everyone will enjoy. I thought banana smoothies, a fruit platter and well.... I cant think of anything else !!! help !!!

What immediately came to mind was Dole Whips! I got the recipe from Dole.com & it's not the true "Disney" recipe, but my kids 10 & 21, love them!

d

PS We use cherries and marshmallows for the kids & I skip them & the sugar for myself - I just toss in a single packet of sweetener for half the recipe. It's still PLENTY sweet!

Pineapple Icee Whip
a Great Pretender for Dole Whips, from from Dole.com

Prep: 10 min.
Freeze: 3 hrs.
Makes: 8 servings

2 cans (20 oz. each) DOLE Crushed Pineapple
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons lime juice
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries, mini marshmallow or mini chocolate chips, (optional)
1-1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, whipped

Drain pineapple; reserve 2 tablespoons juice. Set aside.

Place pineapple, lemon juice, lime juice, sugar and reserved pineapple juice in blender or food processor container. Cover; blend until smooth. Stir in cherries or marshmallow or chips, if desired.

Pour into two 1-quart freezer zipped bags. Store bags flat in freezer. Freeze about 1-1/2 hours or until slushy.

Stir gently pineapple slush into whipped cream until just blended, in large bowl. Return to freezer until completely frozen, about 1 hour. Serve.

I just thought of something else. . . . .

Have you seen the Dole pineapple that's cut into shapes? Like fish? You could "float" a couple of shapes in a clear plastic cup with blue jello.

HAWAIIN WEDDING CAKE

1 box yellow cake mix
8 oz. cream cheese
1 lg. pkg. instant vanilla pudding
2 c. milk
1 lg. can crushed pineapple (drained)
2 envelopes Dream Whip(I just use cool whip)
1 can Angel Flake Coconut

Mix cake mix according to directions on the box. Bake in 12x18x3
inch or 11x15x3 inch pan for 15 to 20 minutes (or as shown on the
package for that size cake). Let cool.

Mix until creamy: 8 oz. cream cheese, pudding, and milk. spread
this on top of the cooled cake.

On top of this, spread 1 large can crushed pineapple, drained well.

Whip 2 envelopes of Dream Whip according to package directions and
Spread this on top of the pineapple(or cool whip, its easier).

Spread 1 can coconut(actually, any kind of shredded coconut will do) on top of Dream Whip.
You can also add chopped maraschino cherries or walnuts on top. I put both.

Have fun!

A big thanks to all of you for your help ! It looks like there will be about 18 of us all going tomarrow !!! Will let you know how everything turns out ! Again thank you !
