We are having a hard time deciding...
between Biergarten (German) and Teppen Edo (Japanese)

We like both cusines, but haven't been to either restaurant. HELP!

Teppan Edo is wonderful for both food and entertainment!!! That being said, we have never eaten at Biergarten.

I haven't been to Teppan Edo, but Biergarten is fun and has a lot of food from which to choose.

We've only eaten at the Biergarten...Japanese food is plentiful near us, but German is hard to come-by! :) We had a great time, met some interesting people, and the entertainment was wonderful. Its on our "must-do" list....

Hi there. We did Biergarten on our last trip. We did not like the food at all. The entertainment was fun though...

DH is German and loves Beirgarten, me too, they have awesome food, music and atmosphere (there are a ton of food buffet pics in my April thread)

Teppan Edo is ok but we have much better and less expensive Hibachi dining locally

The Biergarten has a dinner show with it. I'd stick with that over Japanese you can get almost anywhere.

Our family really enjoyed Teppan Edo. The food was wonderful and we were, frankly, a little buffeted-out! It was nice to be waited on.

Could you all keep voting? I had this exact question & was leaning toward Teppan Edo (do they cook in front of you?) it seemed like they had better reviews. Now, I'm confused?:scratchin

I Love Teppan Edo. Next month will be our third time at Teppan Edo (it's a must do for us now) but we're also trying Biergarten for the first time as well!

So I guess that didn't really answer your question huh?:confused3

This is a really tough choice!!! Both are good choices but it depends what you are looking for. Teppan Edo the food is great but it does take time cause they prepare everything in front of you but it gives you time to kick back and relax. Germany is a lot of fun and the band is very entertaining. Either choice you make you will not be disappointed! Epcot has the best places to eat! Let us know which one you pick!

do you want a light meal (teppan edo) or a heavy meal (biergarten)? where else are you eating?

we enjoyed both and i, too, am making the same decision for our upcoming trip! :)

We love Teppan Edo!! We were going to try Biergarten, but my kids couldn't get beyond the smell of sour kraut at the door! I was shocked because we eat it at home! That being said, I went to Disney World with our high school marching band last spring and we had some German exchange students. They headed right for the Biergarten buffet--and took several friends--and they were thrilled! They said that it was authentic Baverian food and it made them think of home. I was happy for them!:)

We have dined at both and really enjoy both, I think if I had to chose one then it would be Teppan Edo, my kids who are 3 and 6 had eaten every bite of food at Teppan Edo and they do enjoy Beirgarten as well, but that is one of the first times in a long time I seen them eat that well. They are both good restuarants, though.

Loved both of them. More food at Biergarten and a show. Teppon Edo food was great. You won't go wrong with either. Sorry for the cop out answer, but that's the truth.

Good luck and have a great trip.

That is so funny that you mention the smell at the door because I am trying to talk my DH into trying this place with his family and he told me that every time he goes there for a beer it has a horrible smell at the door. I to am torn between both places for our May trip, so this is a great thread !!! I really really want to try Biergarten but he said that he can't get past that smell. Our nieces and nephew that are coming are picky eaters so maybe we will be better off at Teppan Edo.pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

I'm a good PA Dutch girl, I have my pork & sauerkraut on New Years Day and everything! BUT I would pick Teppan Edo. Mainly because given the choice between a buffet and being served...I'll pick the latter. I dispise buffets. Went to Biergarten for Thanksgiving one year because we figured it would be most like ours at home! It was good (especially for a buffet...) But again...I like to be served when I'm paying that much for a meal.

Thanks All!!! As you can see we have some time before our trip.;) But I have defianately become 1 of those guests that enjoys the food planning way too much, as if! :rolleyes2

It seems you can't go wrong w/ either and the main reason Teppan Edo was not the 1st choice was they could easily find something similar at home. Since our girls have yet to experience this, we are going with Teppan Edo. :goodvibes
