Hi! My husband and I are very new DVC owners and are using our points for the very first time in May at Bay Lake Tower. We have a standard view studio with our 2 kiddos (5 and 1). We knew that the studio was small and only slept 4 but we were ok with that as our kids don't take up too much room yet. Here's my question- My cousin just let me know she will be joining us for only 2 nights of our stay. I know that technically makes our party 5 but with our youngest being 1 I don't think it will be that much of an issue with space. However, I am worried that the powers that be will tell us that we cannot have her stay with us or find another room. I don't want to use more points than we already are and are really looking forward to being at Bay Lake Tower and the proximity to Magic Kingdom. Basically I was wondering do I call DVC MS and basically tell them the situation or just let her stay without saying anything. This being our fist stay I don't want to "get in trouble" hahaha. TIA

Just add her to your reservation. A 1 year old does not count towards occupancy numbers.

There should be a pack n play for your 1 year old. So you and your husband get the queen bed. Your cousin would have to share a double sleeper sofa with your 5 year old. Or bring a sleeping bag. But it will be tight.

Occupancy in the studio is 4 + 1 under the age of 3. You are fine for adding her.

You don't have the Dining Plan, do you? I think if you add someone to your reservation when you have the dining plan they will get charged for that as well for the length of stay. At least that's the way I understand it from reading these boards...we haven't used the DP ourselves.

I called MS and added my cousin to our room without a problem. No we are not getting a dining plan this trip and you are correct. The women at MS did tell me even if she was only staying the 2 nights that we would have to pay for her for the full length of our stay if we had the dining plan. Thank you for the heads up!

Three adults in a BLT studio, plus two small kiddos is going to be very, very tight. The bathroom and kitchenette take up a lot of the space in the studio, leaving not as much space for the living area. The bed and sleeper sofa basically are wall to wall with about a foot between them.

Thank you everyone! This is our first time staying there. After I read some I realized it will be tight. MY cousin will only be staying with us for 2 nights so hopefully it won't be too much of a pain. I was thinking about seeing if a 1 bedroom is available but I really don't want to use more points.
