What's so special about Gymboree clothing? :confused3 Is it a girly thing? I don't shop there. My boys are usually in Gap for play clothes and trendy stuff like Ed Hardy, Charlie Rocket, etc... for going out outfits :rotfl: I'm more the boutique shopper for them. I like the designer jeans with a funky Ramones t-shirt or they go totally preppy with khakis and a Burberry polo :lmao: I like to dress them like little rock stars or prep school kids. Depends where we're going :rotfl: And what mood mommy's in:lmao:

I guess I wouldn't dress the kids in their finest clothes going to a Crayola factory, it sounds like common sense to me! You have to expect them get messy. Bring a shout wipe and let the kids have fun. :rotfl: Kate is just always uptight.

She does "expect" a lot of freebies. I've read horror stories about her online. Like when the kids were babies she got a free nurse from the state to help her take care of them then when the contract was up she flipped out. She went to some state meeting demanding help raising these children she couldn't do it alone. I don't know all the details, it was just her wording that got people upset. She demanded help. She expected things. I'm surprised Oprah didn't give them anything when they were on, I bet Kate was disappointed!

What annoys me about Kate the most is how she makes that poor old lady neighbor fold 8 loads of laundry every Thursday! Then another old lady neighbor comes in to do all their ironing! What nerve! The kids are old enough to play independently, why can't she do these chores herself!:confused3

Did you see the episode where they re-carpeted the entire house in preparation for selling it! I bet they're trying to get a house out of this tv deal now! She's really too much!

i love gymbo stuff for my kids when they were like 2 and 3 when you get to big boy stuff at gymvbo its not that great. The girls stuff is very nice though.

I shop alot at old navy, gap, LL bean, and stuff like that. My boys are HUGE football fans and both have several jerseys. my ds8 loves peyton which makes me sick but I just smile. NOw my ds 4 loves Tom which makes me very happy:) LOL I wonder why. Lately my ds8 is asking for skate baoder and funkier things so I expect school shopping to be different next year.

As for Kate thats what I meant and you put it so much better. I dont think theres anything wrong about them getting help but demanding or expecting that is alittle nuts to me. If thats what shes really like.

I guess it must be a girl thing..... I have 3 girls and boy do I love my gymboree. I also like them to match. My son has only had a few gymbo things, mainly when he was a baby. He wears alot of old navy and gap now, and his dress clothes are RL. I also LOVE targets clothes, they have some cute cheap stuff you can just throw it away if it gets stained!

As far a story's about her online, you never know about that stuff. Where do you read stuff about her? I'd love to check it out. I do find it very strange that neither parents are involved at all in their lives. What's up with that:confused3

I love gymboree. I used to work there as a Store Manager. Its not about her getting the free stuff its the way she is described going about it that shocked me. I am sure they do need all that stuff they have 8 kids. I always watch that show and wonder how they even afford for her not to really work. Buying organic groceries is $$ and she buys alot, LOL. But it was also her choice to have all these kids. She knew she could have more sets with the fertility drugs so it what it is. I respect that she kept them all.
They are soo cute and it seems like they have a good support system.

I agree, expecting free stuff to be thrown at you is crazy! I would love to buy organic meat right from the farm but it is hard enough to afford organic milk. It's a life style I guess she justifys because they don't eat out but it is not nescessary and she goes overbooard with the organic candy and suckers  The show IS her job and she also does a lot of speaking about her life around the country. They make big bucks letting people watch their life! Honestly my husband can't stand the show and how disrespectful she is to Jon.

Anyways back to Gymboree. I was wondering about the outlets, is the stuff there just as good as the regular stuff? I have been tempted but I just love gymbucks so I hold off for those. I was told by the lady at the outlet that the stuff is the same quality it is just different lines :confused3

I didnt realize the show was her job and they did speaking engagements and such.
I like the traget stuff to. I dont like Childrens place its like throw away clothes to me. I am not sure about hte Gymbo outlet I will have to look at that.

Mine is the same. Last night I was finishing up cleaining up the kitchen after dinner, and the Disney World commercial came on TV.....I said "WOW! I was JUST NOW thinking of Disney World! How cool!!!".....DH was like, "What's so cool? YOu're ALWAYS thinking of Disney World.":rotfl: :rotfl: I am glad I have no post trip bummers this time though. Wonder what that means?!?! I've never been this easy going about coming home before.
I can't believe it!!!:woohoo:

My family makes fun of me on a daily basis!! Never mind they make fun of me for being on these Threads everyday!! The laugh everything I stop to watch the Disney Commercial, it just takes me away for a second and they think its hysterical!!:happytv: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

You don't know how happy that makes me!!! They tell me that can't get excited to me until its a month or less away!! Little do they know I am already planning 2009, if we don't get there for the holidays!!!:yay: :yay:

That's funny....I always carry SHOUT wipes. They are awesome. I tried the Tide pens, but the Shout Wipes seem to work better and they work on EVERYTHING - even older stains!!! I couldn't live without them.:goodvibes

Kristin....
....Did you hear????:dance3: Johnny Depp is in town.:rotfl: He is in Chicago filming a movie.:yay:

I like shout wipes too, I found the tide pen smelled terrible and left a ring around what I was cleaning.

Did anyone ever try the Band Aid Blister Block??? AWESOME!!!!

Never heard of the stuff, do they still make it? YOu mean you used it as a stain treatment?

Hi gals!! :goodvibes

Good morning! :cool1: Time to go to Disney World......:dance3: Have a great week and a half... talk to all of you when we get back from our first trip to the GF!:grouphug:

Have fun!!!:cool1:

I am glad I have no post trip bummers this time though. Wonder what that means?!?! I've never been this easy going about coming home before.

Its because you booked the bounceback!! Everytime I get the WDW blues, the best cure is to book a trip! :rotfl:

I know!! I called to be an extra but I saw too tall!!! :(

Did anyone ever try the Band Aid Blister Block??? AWESOME!!!!

I just bought another box of this at Target this AM for the trip!! It is a miracle product!! (I ALWAYS get them on my pinky toes at WDW :confused3 )

Re: Gymboree clothes- it is pretty much the only thing DS wears (and I have been this way since he was a baby) Yes, it is more expensive, but it launders so nice and holds up really well. (I can't say that about Children's Place or Old Navy :sad2: )

Channing- I went to your Ulta today  Mine was out of me Redkin blonde conditioning thing. I grabbed an Eye Foil kit too (I saw it on QVC- remember the disco ball color packet- this was it!!!)

My mom watched my kids one day and was suppose to dress them in play clothes but one of my girls ended up in a Gymboree top. Anyways they all got grape jelly on them pretty bad and she just changed their tops and tossed them in the laundry room. I found them 4 days later and freaked when I discovered the gymbo top! I soaked them in oxy clean for a day and then used Spray and wash duel power and the gymbo top is perfect and the walmart tops are stained. I honestly think better quality fabric make the difference!

Kristin - LOL on the too tall thing.....I am 5'11"! So does this too tall ting mean JD must be short.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Is that what it is?? He doesn't want to look tiny on film??:rotfl: :rotfl: Poor little man.:rotfl: That is crappy you couldn't be an extra....I think that would have burst my JD bubble.

I used to buy only Gymbo for Lucy when she was baby...totally maxed out my platinum visa haha....I jsut went nutso. After only having a boy for 6 yrs and then I got my girl, it was bad. THEN when Jojo was a baby Gymbo was freaky with UGLY colors and boho styles....who wants to put their newborn baby girl in ratty jeans with a hair bandana and hippie top?:rotfl: :rotfl: ugh...that totally turned me off. I went to BabyGap and didn't look back until just recently but now Jojo is too over Gymbo and wants Limited Too and Justice. I am returning my WHOLE GYmbo order I placed before our trip. My favorite is still Gap. I think Gap clothes wash/wear the BEST....but poor Gap isn't cool much.

I can't imagine little kids in Ed Hardy!! Funky!:thumbsup2 DS was Mr. Gap and ON. I don't even think RL washes as well as Gap. JMO from years of experience.:lmao:

I walked - just got back. I was so good on my points but then hunger overcame me and I ate a bunch of jellybeans.:sad2: My bad. I went psycho & lost control.:rotfl:

I don't know about October...It is a dream still. REally nothing solid. DS would be a senior and miss 4 days of school. I don't see us doing it. So far I am ok with that either way.....SO FAR.

Channing :)

If you do a google for "the gosselins" tons of info about them will come up. The article I was reading was by their local paper in the town of Reading, PA. It was just describing her appearance in court demanding state assistance to help with the care of her "well" six babies. It wouldn't have been a big deal had the infants been sick and needed a nurse. It was just an interesting article. At the time, she was just a mom of six babies, no shows were filmed yet.

They apparently get paid very well for their speaking engagements. All travel arrangements are paid for and they "demand" a minimum of 100 people in the audience. It's on their website www.sixgosselins.com.

She's suppose to be writting a book on how a family of ten can eat healthy an afford organic. Has anyone notice that her kids don't drink milk? She mentioned once that it's just too expensive. They do have milk in cereal. I thought that was odd. My two boys can go threw a gallon of milk in two days!

I never had any Gymboree clothing. Is it like Hanna Andersson? My mom bought the boys a lot of Hanna when they were infants. I don't care for it for big boy clothes. The girl's stuff is really cute. I only like the Children's Place for the sweat pants and inexpensive t-shirts. Just stuff to wear around the house or to get messy in. It doesn't last long. The shirts shrink but for 4 for $10 what do you expect?;) I also LOVE Old Navy summer hats for the boys. It's the only store where I can get them matching hats. I don't have an Old Navy anywhere near us, but I make the trek to the mall in NJ just for summer hats!:lmao:

I just bought the boys Thomas the Train and Cars swim trunks at Target. They we're so cute and on sale for $6. They also look like they'll fit better than the Disney swim trunks I ordered online. I got my DS1 size 18 months and the swim trunks are so long they touch his feet! But their Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, so cute! I got DS4 Pirates of the Caribbean in size XXS and they're not nearly as large as the little guys, but still rather big. I couldn't resist for $4.99 each in the outlet section!

I also got my DS1 a cute Mickey Luau outfit from Babies R Us. It's Mickey surfing the waves in Hawaii on a swim trunk with matching big floppy sun hat and cute t-shirt that says "Mickey Luau". It wasn't cheap or on sale, but I couldn't resist. I rarely buy him clothes since he has all his big bros hand me downs. I also ordered beach towels from disney online and a cute beach bag. So we're all set for GF pool! Now mommy just needs a bathing suit. But not until I drop some lbs at WW :rotfl:

Well, tonight I'm off to join WW with my girlfriend. I've been doing good at home but do miss the meetings and the weekly motivation. Plus I see it as a mom's night out :lmao: My friend has a coupon that if we join together we each get a free cookbook. So how could I refuse?:rotfl:

Channing: The Real Housewives of NYC are on Bravo Tuesday nights at 10pm. They repeat the episodes all week. They are so funny and so full of themselves! On last night's episode Ramona took her daughter and her friends to get their hair done at the hair salon around the block from me! I'm really finding this wild that it's right in my neighborhood. I will die if I turn up on TV. My luck I'll be walking down the street and all of america will see my big fat @ss pushing DS1 in his stroller!:rotfl:

Have a great day everyone!
Mare

I think Gap clothes wash/wear the BEST....but poor Gap isn't cool much.

I LOVE Gap! That's always my first choice for the boys, even DH. They's a Gap store 5 blocks away that I just have to hit once a week. I scope out the racks, then return when it goes on sale. I know what days they move the merchandise to the sale rack, when the new stuff comes out, etc... I'm just there way too often. But I just love the stuff. And I think it's cool! :lmao:

I can't imagine little kids in Ed Hardy!! Funky!:thumbsup2

For my DS4's birthday party, he wore an Ed Hardy long sleeved t-shirt with Skull & Cross bones, Rock and Republic Jeans and Espresso checkerboard Vans sneakers. He was the most fashionable pirate at his pirate party!:rotfl:

Channing :)

I think it has more to do with the height of the woman at the time (1920's I believe :confused3 ) I also needed to be willing to cut my hair :scared1: I love you Johnny, but I love my hair more!! :rotfl: (ooh! that would de a great tag!! How come the tag fairy never visits us!!! :snooty: )

Oh, you mean your Oct. trip is not for sure yet? I noticed your ticker is gone again!

Yours is gone, too!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: That website is wacky!

No, I am so not sure. :confused3 It was also kind of weird coming home and not really feeling bad about it.:rotfl: I think I am burned out. I felt that way after our NOv trip, but got over it fast enough. I think I am just tired. I know what a pain in the tail planning a trip is....I am so sick of the PRESSURE. That stupid book ADRs 180days out thing or you're SOL....and then the kids activities and the BBB and the special shopping and anything extra....I am fried at this point.

Mare
- :goodvibes Thanks I will have to look for it and find out what channel Bravo is out here. Sounds compelling!!!! So....how's your fat @ss(Just kidding - have my own here;) ) doing on WW??? Have you been pretty good??? Do you know....my stupid DH lost 3 lbs since we've been home!!!! IN A WEEK!!! I am still scared to step on the scale!!!! OMG. Men.

That sounds adorable!!:goodvibes

I still think GAP is cool. It and Eddie Bauer are MY favorites.:goodvibes The kids don't think it's cool....but then again I look Amish to them.:rotfl: WHATEVER.:rotfl2:

Kristin - OK, I get it that makes sense.....wow. JD is second to your hair. How about your purses? Would you return a purse for a chance to meet him?:rotfl:

I have to move - talk to you guys later!!
Channing :)

So you mean the Blister block is not a stain treatment?!?!? :rotfl: Duh....

No, not a stain treatment!!!

If you feel any discomfort from a shoe (like your getting a blister) you rub this on and bipity, bopity, boo you feel better!! I carry it in pocketbook and of course to WDW!!!
:cool1:
