She'll never forget these things you do!!
Kristin - Wow!! Kindergarten!!!

Kristin - Wow!! Kindergarten!!!
I don't have a lot of it (I only went to my first party last fall). But we had just painted the mudroom this wonderful cranberry red and put on a french door etc. so it looked too fancy for the dog's old set. I thought DH was going to give me MAJOR grief over it but he liked it.
I am more of a Pampered Chef gal myself![]()
Chan, breakfast next week sounds good (as long as we aren't striking by then)
Mandy- are you making fun of me????????![]()
Remind me later to post pictures of the cookie bouquet I made for DS's first day of school- it was cute!
Traci- Welcome!!!!!!!
Hi to everyone else I am missing (the queen of multiquoting didn't do it this time!)
Today I actually exercisedI pulled out my old Firm tapes (yes, tapes, not DVDs!) and my "fanny lifter" (aka small square step a la step aerobics) and did it. It actually felt good to be active again!!

Then I went to the library to stock up on my "reading"OK, romance novel lovers, I need some new authors!! Please share your favorites (historical only please!). I'll start- I love Judith McNaught (I own all of her London historicals) and Kathleen Woodwiss. Otherwise I just grab a random author here and there to read. I grabbed 2 at the library today (but I honestly don't remember who!!)
Have a great day!
Kristin
My DH said I can book next July by the end of the week!! Its a long way to wait, but I told him I need a ticker.
Now, I just have to worry about my DS and HS (passing regents and classes). I think we have to go a little later with my DHs new bosses (CME)!! I am thinking July 25th, we also have to go from Saturday to Sunday so he only misses one full week. The company is still going to be real busy for a year and my DH only wants to be away one week.
Wishes - good for you on getting your DH to commit to booking a trip for next summer! My DH won't commit yet!We are going to Atlantis next June so he's dragging his feet on the GF! I'm working on him, though, otherwise I'm just going to have to just book it for next August. Don't know why he's dragging his feet - he knows how I operate !

I am dropping the rigid cane. That is just now out of the picture. I even think the mobility teacher did. She was going to measure Lucy for it but she didn't. She saw the distress on Lucy's face at the mention of it. I found out that many blind adults don't even always use any white canes if they're in familiar territory so I am just leaving it to Lucy's discretion. There are sooo many meanies and she doesn't have the self assurance yet to just be herself on this issue. She did use it on field trips last year...I forgot about that....so that tell me that she DOES use it when she really needs it...KWIM? It's tough being 12 and then tougher when you're not like everybody else.
Happy day,
Channing![]()
OK...busted I am still here....trying to fix up my stupid ipod.
OMG...historical romance...right up my alley!!! Brenda Joyce, Catherine Coulter, Kat Martin, Virginia Henley - her older stuff is much better than the newer...same with Catherine C and Kat Martin...Teresa Medeiros, Lisa Kleypas, Elizabeth Thornton, Amanda Quick, Jill Barnett, Julie Garwood, Celeste Bradley, Samantha James....Iris Johanson - her historicals are great...Katherine Sutcliffe...Candice Proctor....That's how I spent a lot of my time when DS was in kindergarden and Lucy was a sleeping baby!! READING!
Yes..next week is great....what? I thought Dawn said No STRIKE!?!?!?!![]()

Hello
I have been encouraged to come out of lurkdom more often. So here I am!! I enjoy reading everyones posts. My son just started pre-K. Talk about stress...the last couple of years he went to a special learning center because we feared he was autisic. He had been showing traits since birth. Fortunately, he has sensory issues (no diagnosis of Autism) and with lots of therapy he has mainstreamed into school. It's exciting and scary. I love going in and seeing him playing with the other kids. We still have to work on social behaviors but he has come along way. That's his baby pic in my avatar. I guess I should update now, huh!
Anyway, I really hope to get ot know you all more. You have Channing to blame for making me come over here!! LOL!! Speaking of...Chan do you sew? I have a couple of bows that I wanted to add to the back heels of the shoes (that polka dot ribbon I used for laces), but I worry that the adhesive glue wont hold. Do you want me to include the little bows and you can attach? It think it would look cute, but I don't even sew buttons on things!that's pitiful I know
Oh, we will be at the GF the end of October. Excited is an understatement.
I actually have a stash of clothes on a closet shelf that ...once the button falls off they just "disappear" onto this shelf forever.....it's pretty pathetic.![]()
Hi to everyone else I am missing (the queen of multiquoting didn't do it this time!)
Thanks All (tee-hee) for the warm welcome! Bare with me...I'll get around to quoting and bolding everyone in time
Mickeynut my little guy keeps bringing home pictures he colors in class. I can't keep it all, but I can't bear to throw anything away. What in the world do I do? It's only been a week and I already have a pile of papers! I know I will keep a few, but I feel bad throwing aways his little masterpieces.
I'll just need to get more boxes then.![]()
I have a Disney sing-along dvd playing and I just heard my son say in whiney voice "I miss Mickey Mouse. I need to go see him." Little do they know we are going in less then 2 months![]()

How absolutely adorable!!!!! They don't know they're going to Disney???? A surprise trip........how fun![]()
. But how do you keep it a secret??? I'd be busting at the seams and not able to hold in all my excitement
. (I've been bouncing off the walls ever since I booked our trip and I have 10 months to go
). You are going to have THE BEST time

. Come back and post lots of pics as I need all I can get to get me through the next 10 months before I get to the GF for THE FIRST TIME

.
And yes.....get more boxes![]()
!!!
Oh, it's not a secret...they just don't know when we are going. Since they are only 3 and 4 years old they have no concept of time. DH and I told them when Mickey Mouse brings us presents that's when it's our turn. So the night before the trip we set presents out (kinda like Santa, only it's Mickey that comes). He leaves little gifts that they take on the trip. I start collecting little things for them to take in their backpacks for the plane, plus it cuts down on them wanting those expensive souveniers in the parks. I put balloons and stuff out. It's pretty festive when Mickey comes! Last year they were thanking Mickey for the presents when they saw him at the parks. I'm sure *Mickey* was like what the heck are you strange little kids talking about ?! Here's a pic from last years Mickey visit!
Needless to say the kids keep asking "When is Mickey going to tell us it's our turn??"
