ONE day to go:cool1:

Hi Gals...Im back from my first day....WHEW im tired!!!! Ok it was uncomfortable and very weird sitting with a whole new school when i could see my old school sitting in a different area (we had a district wide mtg) Anyways, very overwhelming all the prep that goes into starting the school year! I cant wait til those kids come!!!! Thats what Im looking forward to!

Yes, I woke up at 1:30 and couldnt get back to sleep...my mind was racing! I was nervous but i met everyone and they are all really nice! :goodvibes

Chan...funny about the dream! its cause you have too much Disney on the brain! :rotfl:

tinklvr so glad that you had a good day:) I bet it will be great once the kids arrive...Get a good nights sleep:thumbsup2

Hey friends! I am at church. Our power as out today so its a good thing we were at my grandmas. My phones have water in the lines so as of 4pm did not have internet. Verizon was at the end of the road working.

I need to run we are starting practice.

Thanks again for all your well wishes

Mandy

Thank goodness for my Ipod

Mandy hope your power is back on soon ...:flower3:

Blueskies:

I too mostly lurk but have been visiting more frequently. Having been through the biopsy etc process with my mother with a different result (but all is well post lumpectomy and radiation), I can appreciate the anxiety.

Now you have a reason to celebrate!!!

Hi Twinmum glad all is going well for your mom:goodvibes and that she's done with her surgery and treatment:flower3: I read your most incredible story and it truly touched my heart...
what remarkable spirit your son has! I am a mother of twins also-but they are teens now:scared1: when I saw the photo of your boys sleeping it brought back wonderful memories:) I know you have some time but wishing you all a wonderful trip:)

Hey let me get youse guyses opinion on this.... DH and boys reeeeeally want to do that car stunt show at DHS. We missed it last time. What is something that I could do with Alex (my 2 year old) while the older boys do the stunt show? Any good shows or attractions for little kids (besides Playhouse disney)?

Good Evening GF Gals~

We are finally All packed (its a miracle) and hoping our flight gets out tomorrow:) I have enjoyed sharing my pre trip excitement!!! ( thanks for answering all of my questions:thumbsup2 and for the great ideas... ) and look forward to sharing a trip report and photos when we get back (unless DH gives in and lets the kids bring a lap top...)

Lesley your up next!!! have a great trip:flower3:

I think there will be lots of trip reports coming up...

Talk to you all soon:flower3:

Hello All!!! I have been away for awhile and have missed chatting with everyone. Life has been so crazy and I had to give up the Dis for awhile:worship: I have been trying to read and catch up, but it is amazing how far behind you get.
:worship: Dawn I haven't even had a chance to congratulate you on school:grouphug: :yay:  I have to agree with Chan, when I met you I just thought you were awesome. You will be fabulous with those kids. They will be lucky to have you. Way to go on you chasing your dreams!! Also, way to go Joshua, that was so much fun this season!!!!

Mandy and all of the girls in Florida on their tripsHope you all stay dry and safe. I have to agree that I like Disney when it rains. In July, we loved staying in the pool, we can't do that in Illinois!!! My sister lives in Florida, but is actually in Rockford, IL right now at my Mom;s. They just came back from Germany(where her husband is from) He had to go back and has never been through the Florida hurricanes and now he is there all by himself.:sad2:

Channing Good luck with the getting up early. I am in the same boat. I work nights though, so being up early stinks, but I am ready to get all those kids back on a schedule. Also, you talking about the balloons, we have a huge balloon festival in our town this weekends. It is so cool. You see them out all week
My DS made his weight for FB this past weekend so he can play fullback, but it was a horrible thing to go through as a mother, The morning of his weigh in he was 99.8 at home and there he was 101.5 at the weigh in. He was devastated, but then his coach was able to talk them into letting him weigh again after his game. He had to play whole game with nothing to eat/drink and then run after game, he then was 99.5. The poor thing drank so much after that, but his appetite has yet to return. I told him next year we will not do this again. So, if he is over 115, too bad. I don;t know how any of you wrestling moms do this. He is at least set for season, it is really kind of stupid
Watching him and the Olympics has inspired me. I have decided to lace back up my running shoes and make a half marathon my goal, since I am not getting any younger. Hopefully, the disney 1/2 marathon. Anyone else up for it????:thumbsup2
All have a good night, at least the gymnastics are over and I can turn off TV at decent time. Take care, Evie

He LOves it Chan , he has no clue that I bumped us to RPC behing his back...he is oblivious...but after they concierge guy met the car this morning he said "Wow! This is the way to go!" So I think RPC (Or at least SL, has a customer for life!!)

The kids are having a ball! I think the plder boys rode Space Mtn about 5 times in a row...alll walk on!!! They LOVED their Disney Florist Baskets that the concierge crew placed in the rooms for them before we got here!!! THAT WAS SO FUN!!!!! They were shocked (I promise some pics once I get home!!!)

The storm has not been had here, a little windy, quite a bit of rain, but not horrible...it has been fun and truly a great day!!!

:) Magical Wishes!!!
Shell, So glad you are having a great time :cool1: Way to make the most of the weather. I have 4 kids also, I was wanting to know how do you all fit in GF? Do you have a suite? Thanks:goodvibes Evie

Well...finally Evie has decided to join us! :cool1:

Yes- she made me put on my running shoes also this week so I am on Day 4 of the Runner's World training tips for beginners. I may die before this is all over. It is a good goal 1/2 Marathon in Disney which is in March!! (I doubt I make it but I can always have a goal) Wonder if there is a prize for last place!! :rotfl:

Hopefully the rain will hold off for the balloon fest this weekend.

Channing- Thanks for the info on the dolls. I think we are going to make these on Christmas Eve.

Brook- Where are you?????

I hope you are safe Mandy. It looks like you guys are getting a lot of rain.

Hope everyone is still having fun at WDW!!! :wizard:

HAVE A GREAT TRIP!!!!

Morning Gals...:surfweb: Im catching up before I have to go into school this morn....

Evie~thats horrible about your son...why does sports have to be that way? Those coaches should be ashamed of themselves!
Yea Joshua was good for SYTUCD! I hear ya about the gymnastics...i was up till all hours watching...i loved that N. Lukin won! I like her better than the dark hair girl. But swimming with Dara Torres was my favorite!

Vanessa~thats a great goal for you and Evie! Fun! Its always better with a partner! My brain does not compute 1/2 marathon let alone my body :rotfl: :rotfl:

Kristin~any news on the strike??? How went the meet and greet??

Chan where are you???? Did you sneak off to the GF to meet up with everyone??? :rotfl2:

dawn:upsidedow

How about a half - mile? I can do that!! :lmao:

It's a crazy time of year isn't it? And that is ridiculous about your son's weigh - in !! Poor guy and you too! How nerve wracking!! Same thing here but my DS is under 100 and is a wide receiver so he's fine.

The gymnastics were great - Nastia and Shawn Johnson are so good! Glad Shawn won a gold in balance beam final! I was up last night watching Misti May and Kerri Walsh win the gold in Beach Volleyball!! They are awesome! It was so cute when they interviewed them afterwards and asked what their plans are, they both said they were ready to have babies!!

Hey, we have power and my internet is back up!:yay: It is slower but it is up! I swear I have never met anyone that got water in their phone lines. Our phones are still garbled sounding, but not as bad. Verizon is down the road again this morning. I tried to use my sisters desktop yesturday but her keyboard is jacked up, LOL! When you hit a "M" a "," appears! LOL! NOW I know why she always uses her laptop!

Oh man, I hope your power is back on soon. I remember when our power was out with Charley and we waited WEEKS! But it sounds super promising that Verizon is on your block already! I am crossing my fingers for you guys!

WHAT? You lived here in 04? I was without power for several weeks also from charley....... and frances and jeane......

I think you should take him to the "Honey I shrunk the kids" playground. It is close to "Light, Camera, Action" and it has fun stuff for them to explore. If you go back to the right as you enter there is step like area that makes fun noises when the little kids jump on them. We ALWAYS spend at least and hour there every time we go to MGM or DHS. My older kids like to climb the rope thing and my 2yo loves the area that I mentioned above! Or ma bey grab a snack at Pizza Planet and let him "play" video games. Its A/C so much cooler. My kids are happy to just push buttons or sit in the video game cars and steer the wheel and not actually pay to play! :thumbsup2

Forgot to add I am sick  I had a sore throat that turned into a cough and last night I got a fever and horrible headache. I took a handful of pills and went to bed at 9 and slept till 9:30. Whatever I took last night made me feel better but I still have a slight headache........ I have to ask my hubby what he gave me last night. :rotfl:

Have a great day! :goodvibes

Good morning!!! OMG..I wont even bother multi quoting - it would be so many!

Lesley and Blueskies and Here comes the sun - have great trips!!! Looking forward to pics and reviews when you get back!

Dawn!! LOL...NO...unfortunately (or fortunately I guess) I am still here.:rotfl: I just got my Jojo back after she slept over at a friend's house 2 nights in a row so I had to spend some time with her and with DH....OH...DH got a haircut yesterday and the lady comes to our house so I was chit chatting with her while she was here. The evening just went.......

I am glad you are feeling more comfortable about the whole school thing. I applaud you. :cool1: I couldn't do it! :rotfl: Keep us posted on how it's going...and we do need to get together and go out to lunch on a weekend soon.

:rotfl2: OMG...OK...my Disney dream for the night involved Kelly. I don't even remember all what but she was there adn I was supposed to meet her somewhere in WDW and I was late and she was ticked.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Does that sound like the Kelly we know? She had long Alice in Wonderland hair.:rotfl2: I have toooooo much Disney on the brain. It's a sickness.:rolleyes1 It didn't help that Jojo had me watching old movies from 1998 and 2001 of WDW and our family trips. OMG..It's so bittersweet. Lucy was a doll...like a little porcelain's doll with super pale blue eyes and white blond hair and such a cute chipmunk voice....and to see her and Zack together...she leaned into him and he put his arm around her and she just stayed like that.....*sigh*. They used to be so nice to eachother.:confused3

Oh...I am going to Woodfield today. I am so not wanting to. And then soccer starts tonight!!!!! We are going to have a full week...soccer twice and dance twice and Lucy and her clubs every day..and more. ugh.

Evie!
It's good to see you back!!! Way to go on the running! If you are serious about the Disney 1/2 marathon I would look into it ASAP. I am afraid...I think I heard that they are full for this next one. They fill up FAST. That is sooo nasty about your son and the weight.....I hate that stuff with kids. Life is stressful enough without that garbage as a KID!!!

Vanessa! OH ya...the dolls are gorgeous. YOur daughters will probably love making them. What a cool thing to do on Xmas Eve. AND....other holidays when we've been there Helmut Engel - the owner of the company - has been there and signed my girls' dolls. :thumbsup2

And..lastly...Mandy!!!
Hang in there!!! From what I was hearing from WDW it didn't sound so bad....so sorry to hear you are getting hit harder. I hope your power goes on FAST. Let's hope the sun is out for you today. :)

OK....I have to get ready to schlep my kids around Woodfield....i promised them Build aBear and i have limited 2 bucks and a Gap coupon...and a B&BW coupon....but i HATE that place...unless of course I am meeting friends at Cheesecake Factory for lunch. I will wind up at Rainforest...I just know it.

Chan :)

Chan :)

It was not bad..... just lots of rain and wind. My area got more wind than where my sister and grandma live and they live only 20 min north of me. The rain began Tuesday and we were still getting heavy down pours last night, it has been gray all morning but no rain! Ma bey the sun will shine today!

In 2004 when Charley messed up my town BAD and left me without power for weeks, pulled roofs of houses, and knocked huge trees through houses, my sister and GM had a few small limbs down and power out less than 2 hours. And that was not because lines were down but as a precaution from the electric company in case lines were blown down or trees fell.

We are about a hour south of WDW and were a lot closer to the center of the storm so we got more wind than WDW. Thank goodness. Could you imagine being on vacation and loosing power? So glad the storm was not strong at all!

Mandy I am so glad you are okay. We were all worried about you. Hang in there.

I guess I have not mentioned it here, but myself, my BF, her DD and my DD are signed up for the Princess 5K. Thus providing more guilt everyday that I don't run. I'll do anything to get another trip to DW. Sorry guys, but we are staying at AKL Villas. MY BF is a DVC!

I cried major tears after Shawn Johnson won the gold on the beam. She is such a little cutie and her parents have done a lot for her to be able to get to the Olympics. When I saw her mom crying I lost it!!

Channing~ Are you serious about the 1/2 Marathon being full already. :confused3 I did not know there were that many crazy people out there! :rotfl: I think we will stick with some 5k runs this winter and see what happens. Maybe 2010. My only reason for doing this is so I get another trip to WDW. What can dh say after I have spent hours getting ready for something like that. He can only say YES!

AHHH NOT ME VANESSA....I will watch from the sidelines cause thats the only way I know how to be a Princess:thumbsup2 princess:

Have a good day gals...Off to school.....:upsidedow

Isn't there a walk to go along with the Half Marathon? Some of us could do that!
How many miles is a half marathon? I can only run about 3 miles right now so I would need some major training! Why do I think there is a 10K too, that weekend? I could handle that!:)

I love the Olympics - I'll be sad when they're over!

ETA: Just saw Feefee's post so I guess it's the 5K I'm thinking of. I could do that!
