Hi Gals.....here i am on the Dis and not going to Woodfield. I am not feeling good today (female) and i was up all night....so laying low today. Dang i really wanted to win that trip

Evie~it sounds like you had a great time! What the heck are you doing up so early or late??? How much sleep can you go on??? Wow you are the second person who has said its been quite dead around Disney right now! Dang it! Everyone is probably waiting for free dining to start???

Dawn! Bummer....now you're not feeling good... It is gorgeous out though...good day to rest and relax and read. I hope you feel better.

oh..i was outside all afternoon yesterday for about 6 hrs. I am crispy tight but not burned or tanned....wth? Weird summer. I have been using anything from a 30 spf to down to 8 spf.

Today DH and I are going on a "date"....the movies and the bookstore! I thnk we are going to see "The Mummy"....neither of us cares to see the depressing Batman movie and i think i will wiat to see Mama on DVD. NO matter...i don't want to put DH thru that....they were all nice about seeing Bjorn Again on my bday but this might be a diff matter.

Good Day Ladies!!!

Well, my Woodfield trip is not happening today either. My 4 year old Isabella bumped her eye while playing last evening. She cried a little bit, but nothing too terrible. It looked like it would be a little bump, but nothing too serious. Well, this AM when she woke up, she said Mom I can't open my eye. Well, sure enough it is swelled shut. She looks like she was in a boxing match. She is my Jonny Dangerous, but such a trooper, it really is not even phasing her, but my other kids are all so upset about it. Right now big brother Connor is taking care of her, and he says he wants to cry when he looks at her. So, anyways we put the patch we got from her pirate cruise on her, and she thinks it is great She may be wearing for next week or so, I really don't want anyone giving her a hard time.
So much for being lucky on my anniversary and winning a trip. I sent DH to Springfield with my other 2 daughters for takeout instead!!! We promised our youngest she could get her ears pierced, so they are doing that.

Dawn, hope you feel better, I was hoping you could report back to us about the trip you were going to win I was at work last night. I work 10-630 am 2 nights a week in a hospital as a microbiolgist. Exciting, eh?? I have to fight to stay awake some nights, but right now it is a stress free job that gets us our health insurance. I used to be an medical office manager, which had way too much stress for a mom of 4 kids

Kelly, have a safe trip!!!! Where are you staying??

I will work on some more trip details later. I have to say one last thing. We went and visited AKL and ate at JIKOs and Bomas. It was so beautiful and peaceful. It got me really excited to stay there in January. They have it so hidden over there, I could barely see the construction. We did see the 4 month old giraffes, they are adorable. Have a great day!

I could find CR availability for every week I looked at EXCEPT Jersey week I really want to go that week so DS only misses 2 days of school (we have school conferences in my district Wed-Fri also). But if we go the week after Tgiving- it is about $400 cheaper for the same amount of days... DS would miss 5 days of school (but only 1st grade)... what to do, what to do??????????????????

We took our kids out when our oldest was in first grade. But after that grade we stuck to vacation weeks

Welcome! We will be at the GF in late August as well. Maybe we'll see you around. We have two girls, ages 9 and 6. If you see a 9-year-old exasperating her parents with endless questions, and a know-it-all, bossy 6-year-old, that would be us!

I am just able to get back online after a busy weekend! Thank you, Linda for your warm welcome! I totally understand about feeling exasperated at times! My 2-year-old "little man" keeps me on my toes at times! In fact, at this very moment! DD is a gem - thank goodness!

We have 19 days until our trip and we can't wait!

Kristin, Hannah is going to miss two weeks of kindergarten in February; I think this is the last year she will miss school for vacation.
I am feeling guilty about it, but I really only want to be at Disney over one weekend instead of two because of crowds. Weekend before we get there is Superbowl and weekend after we leave is President's Day. I am hoping it won't be too crowded while we are there.
It sucks that it won't be long before I will have to stick to school vacation to go to Disney. Now I see why Mandy homeschools!
