Channing, that's great that someone will watch your Doggie! It will save you a ton, and I know I would feel better about that than the kennel!

Dawn, yes I will be so glad to be done! Of course, I start on both of my PhDs in September, blehh... I thought you had said before you would be finishing soon too! When are you through?

BOTH?!?! :scared1: You, GO GIRL!

Congrats on the graduation! :dance3:

I remember when I finished nursing school, I cried because I was so happy to not have to go to school anymore! :rotfl: :yay:

Don't worry all you GF slum rats...I am GV too!

If I had never met the lot of you I would not even think it was slumming, now I know how the "other half" live and I'll be jealous for about 10 mins...then I'll be in the MK and it won't matter anymore :)

Happy Humidity everyone!
Our AC is out again; it never was fixed 100% but we've had such nice weather the place didn't get hot.
We are up to 88 inside right now with the AC man saying he needs to order a part.

I forget who said what but

TGM's days are up for the second half of december this morning.

When i first started taking trips to Disney I would always gets fares around $200 RT this had to be around 1994.

Speaking of PHDs (not that I have one) I started thinking of moving out of NY (maybe FL) but i would probably have to take my pharmacy boards again because its been 15 years since i was licensed. I wonder if I would pass lol

I would seriously like to move from NY at some point.
Does anyone LOVE where they live and would never move?

I love where I live EXCEPT for the allergies.:rotfl2:

DH and I were talking and when he retires I think we will be moving out of state... we hate not being able to breathe :rotfl2:

The sinus thing ..well around here almost everyone suffers... other than that its a great city if you dont mind floods, hurricanes and minor disasters :rotfl2:

Mike- I really like it here in Chicago!!! We do get crazy hot here in July but I don't mind it. There is a saying here "We have 2 seasons: Winter and Road Construction..." but since the latter pays my bills (and my trips to the GF!!) I am not allowed to complain about it. ;)

Dawn- I ESPECIALLY like Chicago when Nick Swisher hits a Grand Slam to make it 8-0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tell your Sox Fan to get that broom ready since it may need to travel to a different bedroom Sunday night!!!!!:rotfl:

Mike! I LOVE WHERE I LIVE!!! :goodvibes I grew up in a smaller town about a 10 min drive NW of here and lived in several chicago suburbs but always wanted to move back. So....after moving around for about 12 yrs we came back here. My husband grew up more in toward the city. Remember the movie "The Breakfast Club"? He went to that high school where they filmed it.:rotfl:

Although....now that I am thinjking aobut it...and getting older the winters here SUCK. Last winter was the pitts. Before that winter our winters were actually pretty mild. Not sure what to expect this year...but if there was ever a time I was thinking of moving it was last winter. That was the first.:rolleyes1

Hey! I just got back from seeing "Wall E"....well.....It started with a "Hello Dolly" song...a GOOD ONE - becuase I am a fan of old musicals, haha & knew what that song was and what from right away:goodvibes ....and it was cute, but OMG....It had too many PC messages in it for me. There were chubby tubbies in "hover chairs" and I really got the feeling they were making fun of people that use ECVs for convenience - they totally LOOKED LIKE ECVs....and these people were FAT and helpless and they couldn't do a thing for themselves....it made me self conscious.:rotfl: :rotfl: There were messages about waste & pollution, and supersizing...and laziness & stupidity...I don't like that. It wasn't disguised well enough for me to enjoy the movie, haha..it was IN YOUR FACE.. I cringed at a few things. Jojo laughed her BUTT OFF...lucy and I at the chubbies..just becuase we are mean.:rotfl2: But when they fell out of their chairs and rolled around...who could resist...but it was MEAN really...but funny mean. I have to say...it was visually neat, but I didn't care for the movie or plot. :confused3 :confused3 I think they might even take some heat for the ECV stuff. I liked the "Hello Dolly" music best...and then Peter Gabriel's new one at the closing credits. The music was about the favorite for me...I guess I need to go bye "Hello Dolly" :rotfl: :rotfl:

Plus...it made me want to puke up the popcorn I ate during the movie....sooo glad I didn't buy those peanut m&ms....haha

Chan that chit chatter!:)

OMG Chan, I just talked to hubby about Wall-E and I said almost exactly what you did. It was full of environmental guilt and social conciousness rhetoric. I signed on for a cute kids movie and felt like I was force fed a cross between "Supersize Me" and any "the world is going to end if we don't stary recycling" movie.

But cute characters and nice animation though. The kids loved it, they missed most of the "message" and enjoyed laughing at the people rolling on the floor...yeah, they're mean too!

and I too ate enough popcorn for a small army..but I also had the M+M's...there goes this weeks weight loss.

Gosh ya'll we are going to see WALL E tomorrow! I hope I like it! I can normally look past all that stuff but we will see.....

MIKE, I LOVE FL! I am a native so I have nothing to compare it too but my hubby (who is also a native) has lived in few areas of the country and he moved back to FL after military life was over. The only other place he would live is Germany( he liked the beer), but that is never gonna happen!

What can I say we don't get ice storm or snow and some Christmas's we actually wear shorts, it doesn't help get me in the mood to decorate and all the jazz but thats FLA! :santa: I mean for us we have so much WDW (of course) Universal, Sea World, Busch Gardens, beaches, beaches, beaches, lovely state parks, lots of springs, ect.... I mean it gets hot but I think it does everywhere! Thats why all the houses have A/C, ha ha :rotfl2: I honestly would not live anywhere else in the world! I love it here! We do have the best in central FL, where I live I am about 45 min to both Tampa and Orlando, so fun fun fun, and way cheaper to live here than in those citys!

Trust me we could use a good pharmacist around here! My old one gave me expired birth control...... you guessed it baby #4 was conceived while on those! :scared1: I am sure you are a great pill pusher, he he! :rotfl:

OMG more power to ya Amy going on with your PhD...i have had enough for awhile :faint:

I have lived many places and I have to say Chicago is great! BUT THE WINTERS ARE KILLER!

OMG THAT WAS THE BEST :cheer2: party: "Dumpster" was getting rocked! Oh believe me the "war of words' has started already here

Holy.... I've heard some crazy stuff before but...WOW...seriously i'm in a little bit of shock...

Too bad about Wall E. That in your face PC stuff would drive me crazy and i'd have a hard time keeping my mouth shut.

Its nice to hear about where everyone lives...I enjoy reading it.

I like Queens; its not manhatten and its not long island but its sort of a combo of both at least where I am.
You can be in the city or Montauk or upstate or Connecticut within 30 min to 2 hours depending on where you are going.
My property taxes are 4400 a year which keeps rising. Dont get me started on Mayor Bloomberg....

My dad always tried to get me to move to florida because there is (or was) no income tax.
I'm not a fan of Manhatten if for no other reason than I just dont like crowds.
I'd like to hear Wishes opinion...i think she lives in manhatten.

My dad lived in Fort Myers, FL for many many years and just recently moved to the mountains of NC. I always enjoyed visiting him. I really wonder how i would do on the pharmacy exam. it woud cost me i think $600 to take it and thast money better spent on RPC lol

Here I am....and sorry I live in Staten Island, New York and I LOVE it!!! I am a city girl through and through and the suburbs is perfect for me. Minutes away from city and still go home to quiet slower paced living. My husband gets to work in about 30 minutes and home in about 45.

I would never move, unless my kids do when they older. I couldn't imagine being too far from each other. My DHs family and my family are still close, even though some moved to NJ (not too far).

I love the seasons and although they don't change like when I was a kid, I love them just the same. Especially the calmer winters!!

Mare lives in Manhatten and has a weekend place in the country.

Good Luck!! Annette

LOL i used to think my wife and I would never move because of family...now we want to move because of them.
Family was the #1 reason we decided to move 2 years ago; luckily to make explanations easier we found we were having our 4th child and told everyone we needed a bigger house.

I do love the seasons too, especially fall. If I do move its either going to be to a southern state or somewhere that gets a lot of snow in the winter

We just got back from WALL E and we loved it! popcorn::

I guess I get what your saying about the PC in your face stuff but I guess with out that there would be no plot..... We liked it, my parents and sister joined us and they liked it too! We will defiantly buy it on DVD! I am glad we liked it becasue after the shock of paying for all of us tickets and a huge popcorn popcorn:: to share I was dreading not liking the movie and wishing I could get a refund! But for us it was money well spent, esp. since we only go to the movies twice a year! Six thumbs up from this little family! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Forgot to add, we compared the way the humans were living to a futuristic dark age! HA HA!

Mandy...Colin and JOjo (her second time, haha) just walked in from seeing it today and really LOVED it, too. :rotfl: Geeze...very weird. I almost close to really disliked it.:rotfl: :rotfl: I just thought it was either in your face or sarcastic. :confused3 And I couldn't enjoy it. Funny how different.

Just got back from running to Target...my Visa is sick. :rotfl: I hate these last minute pretrip expenses. Oh well.... Just junk and it adds up FAST.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Got my JUMBO Ziplocs to pack things in. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

It was sunny and gorgeous here earlier and we were having a wonderful time in the pool and tanning...then suddenly out of nowhere comes these horrid gray storm clouds and that was IT for our tanning. I NEED a tan to go to FL in July!!! UGH. Now it's cool and breezy!:goodvibes

WE haven't even started to pack yet. Haven't even brought the luggage up yet. We are still throwing our clothes together. I bought Jojo shorts the other night and they are SHORTY SHORT...she tried them on and I was like...Oh NO...they are not appropriate. :rolleyes1 Isn't that weird???? So....back to trying to throw stuff together for her. I thought she'd be too hot in longer bermudas but that seems taht is all there is out there - either LONG shorts or SHORT shorts...not much in between. :confused3 She still wears sundresses and skirts though so we going that direction...fast. LOL...I am not ready for my 8 yr old to wear shorty short short and padded swimsuits... :rotfl:

Hope everybody is having a nice Saturday.:)

Omg...I have to tell this......talking to Colin about the movie reminded me of my freaky dream....and my weird pretrip stuff.

So this morning I pop WIDE AWAKE at 4:50 am...like OMG OMG OMG....feeling so much pressure that there is so much i have to GET DONE!! and then I just laid there...totally lacking motivation, until i fell asleep again and slept until 10:30!:rotfl:

BUT in that time I had the stupidest Disney dream. I think this was influenced by Wall E....

I dreampt I was in a wheelchair...we were faking that i got foot surgery so we could get front of the line access....LOL...and I was pushed up to the front of the water edge for fireworks viewing by super nice helpful strangers that let me cut infront of them because of my wheelchair:rotfl: that I didn't really need...(probably Illum)...and my shoe fell off...into the water - my EXPENSIVE Tory Burch SHOE!!!!!....and floated acrosss the lagoon ...I told Colin to RUN GET MY SHOE:rotfl: ...and instead he goes the other way to talk to a CM. :confused3 (Aggravation:rotfl: ) So I am watching my $150 shoe float away...and my camera gets cut off my neck by a thief..lOL..and I didn't realize it til later....These teens get my shoe and bring it around (nice kids)...but in the mean time people that were behind my wheelchair were interested in my foot surgery and wanted to see my foot:rotfl: ...I told them it's not a pretty sight ...LOL...and tried to HIDE my "scarred foot" until my pokey putzy husband GOT ME MY flippen SHOE...LOL...it was the dumbest dream:rotfl: :rotfl: Just pure Disney craziness.:rotfl:

and so here I sit.....typing stupidly away instead of packing.:rotfl2:
