Ahhhh, I want to go to Disney today!

Brook and Mare, so glad to hear you all had great trips!
Mare, we love Wolfgang Puck's Express too! It was being remodelled during our last trip and was closed, so I bet it's even better now! What happened with the stroller swap thingy?

OK!!! I am calling on all the experts!!!

My DH and I run a golf outing for children with albinism and visually disabled children. To make a long store short, the golf outing is Tuesday and friends of ours just stopped by with 8 baskets of gifts for our raffle and Jonas Brother tickets!!!!

We are so overcome with appreciation that we want to do something really nice for them. The reason I come the experts is because they are DISNEY FREAKS and go to Disney more then me. They go every couple of months or so!!

HELP!!! What can I get them??? The one thing I know is that I want to have something deliverable. If I go to hand something to them there is a chance they won't accept it.

So What can I get two amazing people that love Disney to thank them appropriately!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Annette, that is sooo nice of them. OMG..I am terrible at this type of stuff:rolleyes1 ....do you have any ideas what you might want to send?? What they like??

If they are Disney lovers, maybe something wicked cool oh big from the Disney florist??? :confused3
WOW! That is totally is awesome!!

Maybe Chan or Kelly will have some ideas
. Do they have an upcoming trip?

:rotfl: :rotfl: Thanks a lot V!!:rotfl2: So I was just going to let Annette's question slide by...then you go and say that so I had to answer!:rotfl: :rotfl: ;) ;) JK!;)

oops i am so tired i posted this on the wrong chat thread :rotfl:

just got home, there was a delay on our flight. we had the time of our lives but i am dead beat! the gf did a party last night for the camp rock premier so we stayed up all night for it and then went to MK today... i will post about our most magical trip EVER when i wake up in 4 or 5 days... just wanted to let you know i made it back safe and sound

I am glad you had a great time and made it home safe!!:goodvibes

Hi, we're back too!:) We had a GRAND time!

I'm exhausted. The flights were all delayed yesterday out of Orlando due to a lightening storm.

I'll post all about our trip soon. I'm so tired right now.

I just had to log in and thank Kevin from the Podcast for his review of Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD. It was our favorite restaurant. We ate there twice. DH would have eaten there every night if I'd let him. The chicken w/mashed potatoes was amazing! We shared it twice and each got our own pasta dish. We went to DTD just for Wolfgang Puck Express! Our dinners at Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's were not so great (the kids loved the characters, but food - ugh!). For a fraction of the price, Puck Express was amazing! Seriously, food-wise, it was the best meal of our trip! Oh, and discovering French Toast Loaf and Frozen Latte at the Main St. Bakery! DELISH!!:)

We were upgraded at the GF to a Lagoon view in Big Pine Key. We were in dormer room 9525 on the 5th floor. We had a view of the Poly and were able to see the Epcot fireworks and the Electrical Water Parade. The kids loved it since we were in the room every night by 9pm. The fireworks were at 9pm and the water parade at 9:30. Then they'd fall asleep. :)

Had some minor issues with the room. I didn't care to have the desk with one chair, would have liked a table with two chairs. Easier for room service! We had to move the bench over to the table. DH, DS1 and DS4 sat on the bench while I sat in the chair. Awkward, but we made it work. I also didn't care for the SMALL four drawer dresser. It could have been larger! Family of four staying ten days barely fit into four small drawers! Otherwise, the room was really nice. My ds4 called it our "home".

Tell you all more later. Gotta go get some groceries before the heavy rains hit.

Oh, I saw Brook, but she didn't see me! :rotfl2: I was approaching the monorail and saw her in the front with her brother's family. I knew it was her by Savannah's beautiful sundress and her brother had a HUGE birthday cake hat on. :rotfl: The monorail had just arrived and I lost her in the crowd! She was right at the front and I was all the way in the back. But I did "spot" her once :rotfl2:

Talk to you all soon,
Mare

Mare, great about your upgrade! :wizard: Yep I hear you about the one chair and the small desk. It makes for trouble w/the room service.::yes:: AND the small drawers. We each have our own bag so we just live out of those...except DH who likes to unpack so he uses up the drawers....and if it's just him it's fine...I won't forget his stuff...unlike he might.:rotfl:

Mare, we are going to DTD at least once....we usually do the area by the World of disney store..is that where the WG Puck Express is?? I don't remember seeing it...we always wind up at Earl of Sandwich....I'd love to try the Puck place instead. If it's down at the other end that is a HIKE!!!

Glad you had a fun time! Looking forward to more details.:goodvibes

Chan:)

Andrea...do you remember where the Wolfgang Puck rest is??

OMG..well I don't knwo WHAT is wrong with ME...I am not jumping around excited this time like I should be. :worried: :worried: I just am not into it like usual. :( I am happy to be going but not EXCITED and thrilled.:worried: (WTH?) I am already feeling that post trip letdown I think!! You know..it's come upon me so soon and sudden and i feel like soon it will be over and done before i know it. :( :(

I need to watch a planning DVD or something.

Do you guys ever get that way??? Have the post trip letdown before the trip even starts?? Sometimes I ruin the first few days of our WDW vacation while I am there just worrying about it being OVER. That's pretty pathetic.::yes::

Chan

Welcome back "World" travellers! I cant wait to hear about your trips -- I have a long time to wait before mine, but reviews are always so great to read!:)

Chan...OMG i got it the last time we went in Sept soooo bad I almost ruined it for myself because of it. I guess its because we know how we feel walking into that Orlando airport on the way to Disn.......and driving out to the airport with that sadness in our hearts  I totally understand what you mean!!!!!

Mare~give us all the details when you get a chance:goodvibes

Hey I dont know about Wolfgang Express.....hmmm something to think about!

Going to the pool...got to get my tan on..I feel slimmer when i have a tan;)

TTFN:beach:

Okay, so we all spent the day napping, never made it to the store. We'll order pizza for dinner :rotfl2:

Chan: Wolfgang Puck Express is located near the mini Carousel in DTD. When you enter from the bus stop at the Marketplace entrance, you walk in towards Rainforest Cafe, then turn left passing the Xmas store on you're left and the Goofy Candy Company on your right. When you see the carousel in the center, turn LEFT. It's down a little dead end. It's the dead end before Earl of Sandwich. Before you hit Once Upon a Toy Store.

Seriously, the food was really good. I was expecting fast food, it's not. It's a little different. You place your order at the register then get a number for the table. You then find a table and a server brings you your food on real plates, with utensils. Okay, sounds funny to say real plates and utensils, but I was expecting plastic with my food on a tray type of place. I guess you can call it a "quick serve" restaurant. I was just surprised. I expected McDonalds type of fast food. At first, I thought it was going to be his famous pizzas like a California Pizza place. I didn't expect such gourmet meals. I looked like a food stawker when the dishes where being delivered to the other diners!!:rotfl:

I'm not a huge rotissarie chicken fan, but it was delicious. I think it's called the Rosemary Chicken (Kevin from the Podcast recommended it). We loved it. It came with the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. They put this garlic sauce in the center of the potatoes (like a well) and you mix it up. It had so much flavor! We shared the chicken dish both times and each got a pasta. The first time we just got one pasta and the chicken and I ate almost the whole chicken dish! So the next time, I ordered a pasta too. DH had the chicken bolenasge (sp) and I had the spaghetti with tomato and basil. They were both really good. We had fed the kids earlier, we didn't get to try the kids meals. It's kinda a hike to get to DTD from GF. But the kids did enjoy the chocolate chip cookies. :rotfl:

I have to say, I'm a little Disneyned out. Ten days is really along stay. I was happy to come home. We didn't really stick to any plan, blew off a lot of ADRs, we have tons to do on our next trip, which I have no idea when that will be. DH declared we'll never go in June again. It was just too hot. We were at the pool a lot. We'd love to go back in Nov we like the weather and the holiday decorations. Seeing how the boys loved the pool and beach so much, we might do an island vacation next and go to WDW next Nov 09.

Oh, Private Dining is HORRIBLE!!! They lost my strawberry order!! I called two hours before they were to be delivered and had to speak with a manager to expedite it!! They also screwed up our breakfast order once. I was also really annoyed that on Father's Day we wanted to enjoy a relaxing in room breakfast they had the nerve to come back exactly one hour after delivering breakfast to ask for the dishes back!!! I've never heard of such a thing!! I was in the shower and DH gave them the dishes and the toaster. He was really mad, but gave them as much as he could, even though we were not finshed. I would have told them to get lost!! But DH is not like that.

Annette: I had brought so many pairs of shoes with me and only wore the aeresole sandels every day! They were so comfy!! I'm thinking of getting another pair in a different color!

I also spotted a lot of moms carrying the Crocs Sling bag. I asked a mom in the elevator about her bag and she said she loved it. It's very lightweight and very easy to access everything. Plus it's only $20! The print is really cute.

Oh, I got Cabana info!! We had a fully loaded cabana for the full day. I asked our cabana attendent Amanda what the difference between the other cabanas were and she said right now they are only missing the TV/DVD/Radio they have the fridge so they are $30 half day/$60 full day. They are working on it to get them to have everything and be equal to the other two ASAP. And who said there's a/c in the cabana????? It's a fan!! It wasn't a ceiling fan either. It was a basic floor fan. They do give you a menu for PD, which is limited and a listing of complimentary DVDs (which are from the kids club and couldn't be accessed at the time since the kid's club was closed!) We had our own DVD that we watched. I needed the DVD player since I spent the day there alone with the kids, but if you don't need the DVD player, get the other two cabanas for half the price. She didn't know how soon they were changing them. She said her boss is working on getting the upgraded furniture and TV.

I was also surprised how stocked the fridge in the cabana was. It was FULL! The fruit in the fruit bowl was perfectly ripe. DH noticed this. We once had a cabana at the Hard Rock Hotel with a bowl of rotten fruit! :rotfl2:

So where do I begin?

When we arrived at Orlando Airport I saw the longest line to ME that I've ever seen in my life!! I usually just walk up and have one or two people in front of me, this time I was far back before the ropes even started! It was about a 15 minute wait. We checked in quick, had no questions - just point me to our bus.

The bus was strange. The driver annouced two stops, Poly and GF. The bus was full. One couple got off at Poly, we were the only family getting off at GF - where was everyone else going????? :confused3

DH took the boys to the kiddie tv area while I checked in. Our room wasn't ready yet (11am). I was told we were to be in Boca Chica Lagoon View. Well, after waiting three hours for a room, we needed a room ASAP. DS4 ran threw the sprinkler and was soaked and now waiting in the a/c in lobby and wanted out of his wet clothes. The head guy at check in - I don't know exactly what he does, he walks around with a head set?? - well he got the staff to search for a room for us. He asked if I needed to be in the room assigned to me, I told him I have no idea what room that is, I just don't want a bad view. So they gave us 9525 in Big Pine Key.

Well at first we didn't like the room. I didn't really want to look at the Poly resort every day. I also thought the room was small for us, being a dormer room. DH wanted to change the room. I was about to pick up the phone when DS4 got naked and under the covers and layed down in bed and watched tv. Well, guess we're staying! :rotfl2: Later that night, when we realized we could see the fireworks and water show from the room - we liked it. I guess it grew on us.

My birthday cake arrived before our luggage. DH ordered me the cinderella castle on top of a mini cheese cake. It was delish! Our luggage, boxes and stroller from the swap all arrived moments after the cake.

The stroller - was in mint condition. You'd never know it was used. In the basket she had left glow sticks for the boys. We actually used the stroller much more than we expected. DS1 loved it. He would climb in it and point to the door! DS4 wanted to walk, so my double strolled stayed in the room. DS1 also napped better in the Disney stroller, he'd sleep a solid two hours in it.

That first night we had dinner at Crystal Palace, yuck! Nothing like I remember 4 years ago! DH did have another cake there for me, a chocolate one which was yummy!

We spent a few hours in MK before calling it an early night. It was drizzling out and the crowds were light. We were able to walk on alot of rides.

DS1 is up from his nap. Gotta go. Day 2 will have to wait:rotfl2:

Mare

Welcome back Brook and Mare! It sounds like you both had great trips!

Mare, I don't know why PD would do that? It is so rediculous! What, they don't have enough plates? I would have told them where to take their plates, too, but my fiance would have done the same thing your husband did!

Channing, I did that before our last trip and almost ruined it. I was sad the whole time thinking about when it would be over. :( I have promised not to do that on our next trip, but I bet I will.

Mare - I LOVE those shoes, I was thinking about getting the brown too!!
I am glad you enjoyed the cabana, I don't know if I referred to it as AC or a fan but it feels good!! We go in July every year and I guess we're used to the heat and spending the day at the pool. With kids the ages they are there is no alternative with school.

Channing - Kelly - I was thinking about Disney Dollars!!! A little boring but I am sure they will fully enjoy them for whatever they want to do at WDW!!! They have AP so they could use them for dinner or fireworks cruise!! Honestly, what do you think??? Any better ideas???

On to the post trip let down!!! I get it EVERY time, I get for EVERY trip no matter where we are going. I am so afraid its not going to live up to the last trip or that I forgot something. Then I get to the point that I am not even excited, but somewhere sometime something happens and I am thrilled out of my skin to be going away!!!!!

Mare and Annette~I ordered the Aerosoles in tan pearlized...ooh do i love them...comfy and stylish. Good to know you can walk all over WDW wth them!

Annette~i was thinking the same thing...Disney Dollars! That way they can spend on whatever and whenever they want!

Mare! Thanks for the review!! I loved reading it. WOWWY....PD is really sucko to come knocking on your door begging for their dishes back!!:rotfl: :headache: So, the GF can't afford enough dishes?? WTH?:rotfl: :rotfl: I have never heard of such a crazy thing.:confused3 That is nasty abut your strawberries. The one time DH tried to surprise us (CR 14th floor) with a cool thing - the chocolate monorail (years ago before I even knew it existed)....they dropped the ball and lost the order!!!!!!!!!   Needless to say he never bothered to try and WOW us again.:rotfl: I can't wait to hear more about your trip!!

Amy & Dawn, thanks for understanding about this wacky pretrip depression. It is really bringing me down. I think a big part of it is that I know this may be the last WDW trip for a while. I have October booked but that is looking moer and more like a dream. With school and activities and commitments for fall I am feeling like this is it for a while. :worried: :( And that has me sooo bummed. I need to SHAKE IT OFF!!

Annette
- that is a cute idea - especially if they will be heading to WDW soon.

Channing, yeah, WPE is by the Christmas store. It is very good.
I get the post trip letdown before I even leave every time. It sucks. :(

Anyway, glad you had a great time. I am enjoying your report!!!

OMG...maxiepad..were you rolling on the floor??? I would have been..Im def going to see Get Smart..I love STeve Carrell!

Speaking of maxiepad.....its the sweet joy of RELEASE! Hello this morning!:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Good afternoon everyone!

Well with 13 days till my window opens I sent all my Christmas requests to the GF IPO.

I didn't plan any breakfasts; with parks opening at 7 or 8 am I don't want to be sitting somewhere while the crowds grow.

Planned dinners every night and lunches on other days with plans for some room service.

All dining is around the MK, Epcot and the monorail resorts; Furthest away is dinner at Wilderness Lodge to try smething new.
Still feels wierd to be thinking of this when its been 100 degrees..

Have been thinking of doing a VIP tour..wonder if it would be better to use them in the summer or during Christmas week....any thoughts?

CHRISTMAS WEEK! Having done both crowded summer and Christmas (actually, right after) I would definitely suggest it. It will be interesting to see what B thinks. My other two friends that I've talked in to VIP have adored it and gotten just as addicted as I am.

I haven't done anything on ADRs yet -- I've got to do something quick. I'm also not doing breakfast, but am booking almost every lunch and dinner. I'm still trying to decide what to do for NYE. Narcoossee's was great last year, but terribly pricey -- I think it was $100 per adult and $50 per child. Since my oldest DS ate practically nothing they only charged me for a child price for him, but it was still very pricey. If we were there with other adults I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

I still haven't had anything open up for RPC after the 1st, so I guess we might see you at Poly CL. :)

The balloon drop was very cool, though my pictures weren't that great. The balloons were in the nets when we arrived on the 27th, and I was so afraid that my kids would go over to them (they would have been pretty easy to drop prematurely) and drop them.

**UPDATE**

DS passed his drivers license test!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Now he's in a GOOD MOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(me too!)

Congrats!

I've missed you guys! I had so much work and baseball before we left on our trip to DC that I got way behind and have just now caught up.

I'm also so mad at myself.... Guess what city I'm in for business?

CHICAGO

All I can plead is insanity with all the baseball tournaments (and we play the next 6 weekends, possibly), work (50+hours a week), a family trip to DC (extended family with all kinds of tours etc.), a baptism this morning, etc. that made me forget that several of you are in the Chicago area and to plan ahead so that I could try to meet you guys. Just call me "she who doesn't use all her brain cells."

Where's the smilie that's half asleep with a dunce cap on? :(

Good morning all you GF partiers!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: WHERE ARE YOU GUYS????:confused3 This thread was down LOW! Wake up!!!! Come out to play!! It's summer!!!:rotfl2: :) ::yes::

Marci!! I wondered where you have been?! So you've been in Chicago!?! Very cool! YES, next time you come you need to let us know and we can meet! That would be such fun.:goodvibes I know you're super busy. I hope you are able to have some fun this summer with your hectic schedule. But sometimes THAT IS fun!:) You need to get serious about your ADRs. During that busy time I do that too....make ADRs for all meals just in case...we don't usually do bfasts either. We aren't big on bfast food and the lounge is nice. I hope RPC opens up for you and Mike. That would be the most convenient (and best) thing. It's good to see you around again!!

Well...DS took my car out by himself - with a friend - yesterday for the first time....I was sweatin it believe me but it was fine. I need to start TRUSTING haha...that is gonna be tough.:rotfl:

I switched my flight to leave on Sunday vs Saturday. Extended one more day...I also looked at the AP website and for my days all YC room categories are still open so maybe I will upgrade when I am there...I am still kinda eh abut the YC CL. The only thing that gets me stoked are the KKs.:rotfl: :rotfl: Not sure if KKs are worht that extra nightly cost.:rotfl: OH..Ya..I know they are:love: , but still......:rotfl2: We'd have to eat a lot of KKs.

Talk to ya all later, I'm sure! WAKE UP!! THE COFFEE IS READY!!!!:yay: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Hey, everyone! Channing, I am AWAKE over here. I am online shopping for bathing suits! :scared1: I have tried on sooo many in the stores over the past month and NOTHING I like/want ... :(
My fav suit is worn out after 3 years of use and I need something just like it with UNDERWIRE, please.

I may go out in a bit to look at TJMaxx and Marshall's ... AGAIN. We are going to the beach for 10 days next week and I am desperate need of a decent suit ... I am beginning to think that may not exist. Maybe I should just go eat some KKs and wear a caftan or a moomoo on the beach. :rotfl: With my huge sunglasses and a huge hat. That will work, right? :rotfl2:

Lol. Channing, that is exactly the image I had in my mind as well!!! I need the DD bra suits and they are mostly sold out from LE at this point. I am going to look again though ... I need "the girls" to be in their proper place, not down at my tummy ...

I am heading out to Marshall's to look for sunglasses and a new cute cover up as well. I am picturing myself in a lounge chair under an umbrella with my huge sunglasses and a cute coverup ... Is that a better look!? :)

Thanks for the code! I ordered this one in the black and white ...
