Morning Gals....it another stormy, hot and humid day here in Chicago. Vanessa I hope you are not getting too much rain!

My son (14) is on a Spongebob kick right now...so we are watching and laughing together. Maybe I will see Mr. Crabbs

Yesterday I bought these killer shoes from Steve Madden

My daughter was laughing at me saying you wont wear them, and I said I would too at work...then some ladies (my age) saw me wearing them and said "wow those are fabulous" So I bought them...cant wait to wear them!

Dawn, I love your new shoes.....I am laughing though because I didn't even have to read what you daughter told you.....I DO THE SAME THING!! I have so many cute shoes that I buy intending to wear.....they are unworn in a bin in my basement or on my closet shelf becuase they just haven't made it down there yet....I hope you DO wear them and enjoy feeling STYLISH!!!!

Glad you son is better....Lucy is too. Kind of. LOL on the SpongeBob.....Jojo has been on that kick for about 2 yrs. They are SO FUNNY though....(when I watch...usually I try and block it out )

KELLY!! OMG>>>i am SO GLAD EVERYBODY WAS OK .....that is absolutely awful. And then when you say it was a young kid driving....really THANK GOD everybody was ok...that would have ruined his life, too, if he had hurt anybody....That could have been a tragedy all around. I worry so much about my crazy son driving. What a scary thing.....It reminds me of the thing that happened to DH's mom....a car hit her bedroom! Went right thru and basically totalled her house. It cost $150,000 to fix. ...It was a police chase gone wrong. She had to move out for over a year while the house was fixed.

Vanessa...send IPO your ideas whenever you are ready. Well, we are down with one recital and have one more to go tonight - this is actually an EASY recital year...Lucy isn't doing dance for the first time in 6 yrs so I only have Jo to worry about.. ....We are done with the last soccer game this morning!! YAY!!! Things are coming to a close. Good luck with the softball!! That is awesome you're coaching!! Great for Lexi!! I'm a lefty too!! Comes in handy sometimes!

No storms at all here...it's SUNNY!!! DH is out putting new lights in the pool. When they are lit at night it's gorgeous...the lights shine across the water and reflect on all the trees and it's sooooo pretty and peaceful. looking forward to a peaceful, restful summer....(knock on wood)

Marci! Hi!! Boy it sounds like you are crazy busy!!! No peace there! Congrats to your sons fabulous 4th in the nation ranking!! It's good to see you around here again....sound like things are jsut so hectic now.

Annette...that sounds so touching and special. What a wonderful night!

Mike...any excuse to add another day!!!! The crowds are unimaginable....well they were in 2006..the day we left 12/27 THREE parks were closed due to capacity. It was incredible. But the GF is just the nicest retreat from it. Well I do hope you get that AC fixed asap. The air is thick with humidity here. I guess it's a taste of Florida in July....

Channing- Hope JoJo has a wonderful recital! Your pool sounds very relaxing!

Mike - It was just starting to get dark when the 5 pm CP finished up. It didn't bother us being light out really, but when the chorus comes in with their candles and its dark ( we've been to the 2nd performance,too) it does look beautiful! Stay cool!

GUESS WHAT!!! 2 days opened up!! the day before and the day after our dates!! So now we are there the 21st to the 29th!!

Now I just need 3 more nights to leave on the first! I think I'd enjoy ending our trip and starting 2009 in the MK!!

If i can't stay until the first I guess I'll leave on the 29th so we can be home for new years ( since we are driving).

Well~ I survived softball but......

We have two daughters and my husband and I both played sports and have done some coaching. We are pretty excited about our little lefty playing her first year of softball. She has played Tball but this is her first year in the big league.

Everything is going great and then low and behold it is finally Lexi's turn to bat. She puts her pretty pink helmet on and walks up with her bat. I am standing behind home plate all excited cheering her on. She looks at me with tears running down her eyes and tells me she is too hot and does not want to do it. WHAT!! You are telling me you are not going to bat. Not only is she not going to bat but she wants to go to the car and have me turn the air conditioning on. (it is early morning and not at all hot yet) I am devestated at this point and walk her to the car and let her sit there with the car running so my little princess could get some air!

O.K.....whose kid are you anyway??? Remember I am the well rounded beer and wings- wine and cheese kinda gal. Finally she comes out when she realized what fun everyone is having and puts her helmet on and walks up to the plate and hits the ball. I was thrilled!!

Monday is our first game so we shall see. I guess there is a lot to be said for who you want your child to be and who they actually are.

My three year old just looked at her when she got in the car and said "Lexi...I am never gonna cry when it's my turn to hit the ball." We just laughed!

Vanessa...OMG how funny....yep..I have three kids and I often shake my head and wonder "Who's kid are you?".....they are their own people with minds of their own. That's for sure.

Hi everyone, I wanted to formally introduce myself. My name is Lisa. I'm married but don't have any kids yet. I've been lurking/posting some for a while now, but wanted to jump in and say hello. I stayed at the GF in February with DH and was lucky enough to have a code attached to my name for 40% so DH and I are taking my parents to the GF in December. They have never stayed anywhere but POP Century (in 06), so I can't wait to see their faces.

Mike congrats on your days opening up. I'm going down the 2nd week of December. I can make my ADR's Tuesday and I keep 2nd guessing what I want to do.

Kelly you were very lucky. Wow how scary.

Brook are you getting excited yet? Are you still sleeping thru the nights? I always start having trouble sleeping as it gets closer to the time to leave.

There is a heat wave here in NC. It is at 100 right now. I've been cleaning the house real good today. It is too hot to even cut the grass, I always thought those little yellow "flowers" in my front yard were pretty anyway . Hope everyone has a good evening.

Dawn ~ Cute shoes, I have a lot of platform wedges like that. I LOVE shoes with a high heel, I'm gonna pay for it later in life but sensible shoes will be ok when i'm older! Hey I guess it will be a good thing I don't mind Crocs!

Kelly ~ My jaw dropped! It was so good your boys were in the back yard! We play in the front yard becasue the neighbors dogs try to jump the fence when my kids are out there and now I am freaked out by it!

V~ So cute about needing some AC during the game! That is totally me!

B ~ Can you believe we will be sitting face to face a week from now! Hope your lip is healed by then! I am so excited about all the free GF TP I am gonna go home with!

Vanessa that was so funny!! I'm so glad she decided to play and got a hit! It is funny how in some ways our kids are so different than us and in other ways the same.

Welcome, Lisa! How nice to take your parents to the GF. I know they will love it! My dad recently moved to NC and we keep meaning to drive over for a vacation but someone how we keep ending up at Disney

Well i survived the no AC at work.., it never got above 82 in the store and compared to outside that wasn't so bad.

I bought a misting fan for outisde. Its one of those regular fans with an adjustable stand that you can extend from 3 to 5 feet tall. A hose connects to the back and the fan sprays a mist of water.
I bought it for the dog but i relaxed in a chair in front of the fan and enjoyed the spray.


I played a game with the kids; it was "lets take a 10 minute nap and then we'll play a game" Unfortunately it only worked on one of them and the other 3 are still running around
Now I'm just waiting for a thunderstorm to roll into the city. I'm one of those who LOVES storms but usually they break up before reaching us from Pennsylvania or upstate NY.

Hey! I am back!! ALL DONE!! No more recitals for a year!! whoohoooo!!

Lucy is still sick & has a 101 temp on Advil, but she wanted to go & I had two tickets so she was my date. It was fun for her to be able to watch this year vs always in the show.

It feels so good to be done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS....No bad weather here!! I wonder what you guys are getting?? It rained while we were in the theater, but it's been fairly sunny/cloudy all day...super hot and muggy though. Hope you guys aren't being hit too hard with storms.

Hey, Dawn! Well we have that awful weather today! It is so dark and stormy here now. Looks like it's a "Kung Fu Panda" kinda day. It was either that or swimming. HEY! How was SITC???? I didn't go due to Lucy being sick, but I will probably catch it this week....will I still like it even if I've never seen ONE episode???

Princesses!! Whoa...ya..you better get packing! That's good the kids have camps & they will be out of your hair. Happy packing & trips to Target/Walmart whereever....this is usually the time I wind up going at least once a day until we leave.

Wow....the resort board is boring this morning ....my emails were boring too!! What is up with that??? Where'd all the troublemakers go?!!?
Now that my crazy soccer dance week is over I need some excitement in my life.

Hmmm......I guess I can't add any drama here. Nothing new.

Hey, ladies. It's a quiet Sunday here in New Orleans, but I am going out tonight to see Sex and the City with some girlfriends! DD is spending the night with my parents even though I am sure I will be home and in bed by 10!


Channing, we saw Kung Fu Panda on Friday and while I can't say it was great, I did not find myself looking at my watch to see how much longer I had to endure it like I usually do at children's movies!!!

I also have to shop for something to wear for DD's dance recital. Nothing I have is saying "dance recital" to me.

Dawn, I love those shoes you got! And I don't think they are too young for you at all!!! Great!
