Congrats on your anniversary! 17 years is quite an accomplishment!

Good morning, everyone!
We have cheapy ponchos and a Disney one for Hannah. I usually travel with my mom, so she is in charge of folding, packing, carrying the ponchos. :rotfl2: I seem to remember the child's ponco being like $10 in 2006. Maybe not though ...

I am off to take Hannah to art camp and then have to go to the grocery and do laundry. Laundry is my worst enemy ...

Have a great day, everyone!
- Andrea

I buy the cheapies too because we don't like to refold either. Also, we have given them away to others sitting on the curb with us waiting for parades is the street is nasty damp. We wouldn't do that with the expensive ones, but the cheapos are no loss.

Morning everyone!

I have to tell someone what I just read on the food picture thread. Someone was actually asking about bringing baggies to a WDW buffet! :confused3 Now I have heard everything.:rotfl2:

I bring Ziplock bags everywhere, especially to the buffets in WDW. The waitstaff actually encourages us to take snacks for the kids. The first trip (I didn't have a ziplock with me) the waitress filled two large soda cups with cheerios for my son. Ever since, I always bring ziplocks and take a banana, apple, some cereal and cookies from the buffet. I'm very discrete. I'm not shoving platters of food into extra large gallon size bags :rotfl2: I would have never of thought of this had the waitresses not encourage it.

Here's a question for you ladies... what do you use to carry stuff around at the parks? A backpack? a purse? I am looking for a super small purse thingie for essentials. Any suggestions?

Last few trips, I used my Coach Swingzip or Prada bag (very similar, just more roomy). This trip I bought a LeSportSac Tessa bag with tons of pockets yet it's lightweight and "smooshable" to get into the stroller basket. Make sure to carry a change of clothes for the kids (lots of sprinklers around). I also bring a small receiving blanket to use as a towel or blanket in a restaurant.

Hey Brook, are YOU packed yet??????? Make me feel better and say no, please!!!!! :)

I leave in 10 days and I'm sorta packed. I've been buying the boys Disney Shirts and new shorts and swim suits so all that's packed. I have three boxes to ship to the resort Thursday. I just have to pack DH and my clothes, but it's stuff were wearing. I bought all these cute disney shirts that I had saved for vacation and now with days to go, I'm wearing them!! Why??

At our walmart you can get the cheapy ones for .99 :rotfl2: .

Brook, where in Walmart can I find the ponchos? I saw some for $5 but not the 99 cent ones.

My DH would never wear a poncho (he won't even wear flip flops!) I bring a small umbrella for him. I'll wear the poncho, I don't care! I bought DS4 the Cars rain jacket that's very similar to a poncho but is a jacket. Target sold them for $7.99. I know I'll never be able to fold that thing up again! Thank goodness for ziplock bags! I also had to buy the rainshield for our double stroller so DS1 is covered.

Lesly, I found it very handy to have a foldable totebag or some sort of bag for all the stuff in your stroller basket. On some boats and on the buses you have to fold your stroller and empty out the basket. Please do this prior to the bus arriving or you will get looks and stares!:rotfl2: I have a small Totes foldable shopping bag that I keep in the basket and when we approach the buses I shove all our junk from the basket in there.

I just found at CVS, they have clip on battery powered fans for $4.99. This is a must for the little one. I just use it when they nap it keeps them cool. Don't forget to bring extra batteries.

Annette: Happy Anniversary! Ours was 9 years this past Saturday!

Have a great day everyone. It's going to be 80 degrees today! I'm taking my little one to the playground. Hopefully the sprinkler will be on.

Mare

PS I forgot to announce my DS1 (who's almost 16 months) finally starting walking on his own this weekend!!! He just wouldn't let go and all of a sudden he's walking everywhere!! I'm so happy!!! I was getting worried he wouldn't be walking for our vacation. I really want him to be able to walk to the characters, play in the sprinkler etc... I'm so happy!!! That's why I'm off to the playground!!!

I'm sure I told you about my friends whose house was destroyed in a Memorial Day weekend tornado here in Minn. Well the volunteer clean-up was Saturday and almost 1,000 people showed up to help.

My friend's 2 1/2 year old DD still talks about the wind but it feels a bit like Christmas with all the new toys and books she is getting! Her mom is telling her that some of the stuff is from their old house just so she feels like all is not lost.

And now the best news of all

My friend's BIL found her heirloom wedding ring!!! It was sitting in a dish next to the sink and her BIL fond it embedded between blocks in a concrete retaining wall still standing in the back yard behind their kitchen. The dish is nowhere to be found but the ring is in perfect condition!

The ring was the one her husband's dad gave to his mom but the dad died when my friend's husband was 15 so the ring meant a lot.

Things like this make everything else in life a little less significant...

Good Morning Gals!!!!

As of this weekend Soccer is officially over until fall!!!! We finally had some nice weather for it too! AND................ DS scored his first goal!!! :woohoo: He was SO excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (So were we!!!)

I probably won't be around much this week since the big Bday party is this weekend. If you think I obsessively plan WDW trips, you should SEE what I do for Bday parties!! :lmao:

Have fun and keep your chatter to a minimum!! :rotfl2:

Kristin

PS: Mare- the 99 cent ponchos are in the camping department. It is the only thing DH will wear, but I think it feels like wearing saran wrap!! I wear the WDW ones and then shake em off and throw them in a gallon ziploc in the bag until next time....

Annette, congrats on your anniversary!!!

Minnie, that is great news and I'm so glad they found the ring! How is the family holding up that lost their 2 1/2 year old?

I was JUST about to get a small Kipling bag but then you posted about the Le Sport Sac and I realized that is the brand I couldn't think of. I think those bags will be perfect. I am on the web site now. I have a crossbody Prada bag that I love, it is small with just enough room but I don't want to be swinging around a Prada bag at Disney if you KWIM?

Minnie...that is wonderful about the ring showing up!!!:wizard: And how many people showed up to help clean up. INcredible....that has to mean so much.

Ya you're sure right....and most things are very insignificant.

:)

I don't mind bringing my Prada bag to WDW because it never comes off me. I wear it cross my body too. But this trip, I thought I'd skip my own bag and just throw my stuff in with the family tote bag. I just found my own bag got annoying. I like the LeSportSac Tessa because it has tons of pockets. If you go to the family board and do a search for mommy bags you'll get a ton of ideas.

I discovered this bag after I bought my LeSportSac bag. I might get it for a cruise we're thinking of going on this fall. The reviews say it has tons of pockets.

Good Morning everyone!!!

I am married 17 years today!!! Amazing!!!

Anyway, Channing I don't know what info you waiting for either from the GF or one of us. But I will tell you that last July the two plain cabanas were not FREE!!! One of the women there asked me what I paid because she was flipping out over the price of the plain one. I think it was only $20 cheaper or something like that!!

:cool1:  :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:

The Baggalini's are great, maybe not the most stylish, but very practical with lots of pockets. I also like Herve Chapelier bags. Only one inside pocket, but great to toss everything into, especially if you have your small items separated into Ziplocs, which I tend to do. I was very happy with my Kipling because I could go hands free on the rides. I hate lugging stuff around the parks, so crossbody style is good, but I find the Coach one too small for me for Disney.

Good mornig to the rest of you naughty trouble makers! ::yes::

Are you talking to me??? :lmao:

Channing~ I did not know you could replace them if they were torn. I take mine back each trip and they are good quality but I remember them being kind of expensive.

Glad the debate on the cabanas is over and we have the true info! Thanks![/
Yes!:thumbsup2

You couldn't be talkin' to me......I was just out for the truth.:rotfl: I am sick of the negative pissy attitude some people like the throw around over there.::yes:: It gets old and they sit there and act like they don't realize how they come off??!?!:confused3 Too bad because they might be like that in real life, too.:rolleyes1

Everything tha Chan just said;) ... if people dont want to play nice in the sandbox, neither do we:cool2:

I have a coach one and it is kind of small, especially when you have to put your sunglasses and camera somewhere. I also like Herve Chapelier...and my newest fav is Big Buddha..check it out on ebags:thumbsup2

Yeah, there is no possible way I can fit my sunglasses and my camera in my coach one. Esp. since I like those huge bug eye sunglasses that cover half my face. :rotfl: Thanks for the Big Buddha tip. I love those!

I have been eyeing this for the summer ...

I usually used my coach one too, but its tight and I am carrying two pairs of sunglasses and lotion

I ditched my Coach a while back for a Vera Hipster!! They are super lightweight and I can fit my stuff in it perfectly....tickets, camera, cell, handy wipes....and other junk! That's my favorite Disney bag...I have about 6 different ones and bring about 3 on each trip to match diff outfits!

I am SO uncool!!! :rotfl2: I have a Mickey Mouse bag with my name on it that I got at Disneyshopping that I bring!!

That was fine for Pop, but I guess I should trade up for the GF!!!!!!

That's cute!!

Aside from my "nice" bags, I couldn't resist a $12 Walmart Mickey Handbag! It's so cute. It's a large tote bag with rope handles and mickey heads in pastel colors! DH said where are you going with that bag!? I have no idea, I just had to have it! :rotfl2:

Yep...and you need new pearls and a new tangly sweater to go with your Coach or Prada bag. :rotfl:

I like my Veras!! Stickin with those. :thumbsup2 If they want to kick me out of the Biffy and Miffy club FINE WITH ME. :rotfl: I don't want to be in it anyway when there are surely "certain" members.:lmao: (nobody here though!;) )
