See, and I don't feel that way about AKL at all. Our only stay there was at Christmastime, so maybe the darkness added to the ambience. The first time I ever remember going into the WL was the year we stayed at AKL and we went to see the Christmas tree and I laughed. I thought AKL was done much nicer for Christmas. We went to WL for breakfast at WCC last year and the lobby feels so empty- I like that AKL has furniture to sit in...

My IL's stayed at AKL last year during Jersey Week and they thought it was too dark to (but like me, they agreed it was SO much better than POR!!)

I want to try AKL, even if it is in the "sticks" one day! I think places like the WL and AKL would appeal to me fro a fall trip but the GF takes the cake for us as far as Christmas ambiance is concerned. I want to stay for our 10th next Dec.

My mom told me after I had booked the GF for our trip in March that she really was hoping to stay at AKL  I never could figure out why b/c she hates AK so we stuck with what Mandy wanted......... :rotfl: I asked her if she wanted me to put her there ( secreatly hoping I could get a few days away from them) but she said no. Darn.

Did I mention that in the end my mom and dad surprised us at Christmas by letting us know the WHOLE trip was gonna be payed for by them :woohoo: If I had know I was spending their money I might have even booked RPC :rotfl:

oh yeah I bribed her... with room service :rotfl: :rotfl:
Heck we started out at the WL and then the poly and then GF and then GF SL :rotfl:

Happy rebirthday P! :goodvibes

please Brook bribed Savannah
As I remember you were booked at the Poly first

I remember that.....we were all like NOooooooooooooooooo don't do it!

the WL?? :scared1: I know I will get flamed for this but I truly have no desire to stay here :confused3 I don't get all the fuss

Me neither. It feels like northern IL...not FLorida. It's pretty, but not for a WDW vacation.

oh Kristin I had the most magical thing happen to me yesterday with DH.... I was telling the gal's about it last night but I was so excited and happy for the experience I totally ruined it for DH :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: he kept tellin me to SHUT UP :rotfl: :rotfl:
\

Huh? I must have gone to bed too early and missed a lot of the good stuff.

It is a deluxe I never stayed at before... I was going to try something new and well.... it didnt happen lol

Remember this was supposed to be our cheap disney trip:rotfl:

No such thing.

Well, I had fun, but i missed something aparently........sorry Mandy, but I think they will have to retell their stories:rotfl:

Annette - thanks! Jo is better today but still home. Tomorrow its' school for her. Good luck with the termites!! nasty....we don't have those, but we battle carpenter ants periodically. yuck.

Hi I am back from the school and it wa awesome. Anty loved it and they said the program would be good for him.

YAY!

I have had a crummy afternoon DD2 scribbled on our new TV with a red crayon..... it's not coming off. Turns out you can't clean LCD's like you can the old glass kind

NO! I called the company and they said it was to abrasive. Nothing they told me to do working. The screen was really warm when she did it and it is like the crayon stuck to it.

I saw this info posted on another site. Maybe worth a try? Good luck!

"I suppose I am officially a parent now, MY 52" SONY LCD has purple crayola crayon all over it ( well as high as my two year old son can reach ) from one side to the other ( and my mother-law can only only say "my little Picaso" ). After checking many different sites and forums I decided to go to crayola.com and they have a section just for the cleaning and removal of crayons. The magic secret ingrediant is WD40. I tried it on my 20" Sony LCD, to clean last months work of art, and to my amazment it works perfectly.

Here is the link which is pretty good becasue it talks about not only crayons but all the products that crayola produces and how to remove them from many different surfaces. I will be adding this site to my favorites list until all my kids are at least in high school."

Here is another post:

We had our 60" Plasma TV for less than 48 hours when our 18 month old daughter took a crayon and wrote all over the screen. After reading the comments here and going to the Crayola.com web site, I gave the WD40 a try. IT WORKED!!! First I unplugged the TV per the manufacture recommendation. Then I sprayed a small amount of WD40 on a cotton cloth and wiped the screen. The crayon came right off! I then took another cotton cloth and wiped off the residue with a solution of warm water and liquid dish washing detergent. I dried the screen with a third cotton cloth. After confirming the screen was dry I plugged the TV back up and all was like new again.

Mandy!! OMG:eek: ...Big BUMMER....good luck. Maybe Minniesota's ideas will help.:wizard:

Kelly - that is great! :thumbsup2 Now you have to wait and see if he gets in??

Tink - Cute!

Thanks for posting that, that is good info! :thumbsup2

I actually was able to wipe it of finally. I plugged it back in and turned it on and rubbed my finger across a streak and it wiped off. I got the cloth that came with it and it came off after having to rub each little line :rotfl: I think the key was warming up the wax. Make sense? I might try the wd40 on our bedroom tv since it is a chepo from walmart. :rotfl:

I was just so horrified b/c we have had the thing for 2 months and we had a 13 year old TV before it ( I hate buying new stuff, my motto is "if it aint broke.... don't buy a new one") So when we decided to get a new one we saved enough to buy one big enough to make daddy cry. It worked, he was sold the first time we watched Trasformers on it :rotfl: I was seriously in tears earlier!

Thanks again Minnistota!

Mandy-
I'm glad you were able to fix the problem! I'm past the days of crayons. Now it's soda, gum, hairspray and makeup. Oh yeah and don't forget the burn mark left by the flat iron on the brand new cultured marble vanity top! Teens!!!

Minniesota- You may want to keep that bookmark past high school. It doesn't get any better, just bigger messes.:lmao:

Mandy- Glad you got the crayon off the tv.

Brook- Happy Rebirthday.:goodvibes

Oh, and I don't even want to think about how old I was in 1987.:rotfl2:

Let's just say that for me, 30 had come and gone in 1987! In fact, I think that was the year of my 15th class reunion! Yikes! And I still have an 8th grader. Keepin' me young...:thumbsup2
