Good Afternoon everyone!
Chan: We took the Keys to the Kingdom tour back in 2000. It was amazing! Our guide was the manager of all the tour guides and knew everything. It's so true, the guides can really make or break the tour experience. Sorry they got such a dud. DH did the Wilderness Segway tour in June and loved it. He met them at the BBQ Pavillion, not where you said your guys had to go. This is located right off the boat dock. He was only one of two people on tour and had a great personalized tour. I'm going to surprise him with the Epcot Segway tour for Nov. Oh, and we had Amanda for our Cabana gal too! She was lovely!! She could not have been more helpful. She really made the whole experience extra special. She played all day with the boys and made sure we were okay constantly. And yes, those fridges are stocked!!
Annette: Don't stress about the ADRs for one person. They'll work it out for you. It's exciting bringing someone who's never been there before. You are now officially the "cool Aunt"
Okay, so get this!
Friday night we're driving our long drive up to the country house and I told DH his sister is already asking where we're going to spend Thanksgiving. I have issues with Thanksgiving since my mom passed away suddenly last summer. I just can't celebrate it right now. Too difficult for me to prepare her recipes without her. Okay, enough before I start crying. So, I told DH I'd like to be away on Thanksgiving again. How about an all-inclusive island getaway. He says, no the "kids" enjoy WDW, let's go back. OMG!!
Okay panic strikes! I'm in the country with no computer!!! I know nothing!! No EMH, no park hours, nothing!!! Saturday morning while he takes the boys out for breakfast I'm on the phone with (407) W DISNEY getting the info. Next, I call for ADRs. Now, I know nothing about Thanksgiving dining!! I panic and get anything they have. So I got Citricos. Okay, I book about 20 ADRs, I'm proud of myself doing this blind. That afternoon DH asks, where are we staying? I said GF. He said AGAIN?! I say But you said we had the best vacation of all our WDW vacations there. He says It wasn't just the resort, it was all the special things we did. Oh, how nice!! Damn! Monday morning I switch us to Yacht Club (where he wants to stay!) and had to switch a few ADRs for the new area. We're now dining at Yachtsmen's Steakhouse on Thanksgiving.
Oh, the stress!!
I didn't even bother to tell him that I had to pay DOUBLE what we just paid in June for airline tickets!! I've never paid that much for airfare before!
Went to WDW last Thanksgiving and it was our worst vacation ever! To me, it beat being home sad but it was a really awful WDW trip. We left so last minute that we stayed in a Moderate (which we all hated!) We had barely no ADRs and to top it off the boys both got sick. We spent the majority of the trip roaming the boardwalk or DTD. To get cheap air, we left Thursday to Thursday - departing WDW ON Thanksgiving. Which didn't bother me since I was really boycotting Thanksgiving last year. No dinner, no turkey, nothing. Just another day. This year, I'm okay to eat the meal. Sad, but I know I have to go on. But I'm not ready to cook it yet.
So this is how I'm going back to WDW in four months during a peak holiday week and I'm still in shock. I truly wanted to go on a beachy vacation. Oh, well. DH said for our anniversary in May. Can't complain. He's understanding to know that it's a difficult time for me.
Oh, I'm splurging on the limo ride this trip. I'm not shipping down my boxes of stuff. I'm going to do the grocery store pit stop. My kids go thru so much milk!!
Off to feed the boys lunch! Then switch around a few more ADRs!
Wait, I forgot, I got info!! Last night I was told Garden Grille is closing as of October and Liberty Tree Tavern is stopping Character dinner as of January! Just when I find a character meal I actually LIKE!
Talk to you all later!
