Maxie......I love seeing only 35 days until spring . I can't wait for some nice, warm weather . DH doesn't mind Walmart but I'm like you, it's a last resort if I can't find what I'm looking for elsewhere.....and even then it's a chore for me to go in there .


Chan.....Have a great time with the Valentine's party tonight . The store bought stuff always works best for me too .

hey all.....Hey Oh...omg..now I am going to have Chili Peppers in my head all afternoon....Love them.... Listen what I say oh...ohhhhh The more I see the less I know....the more I like to let it go....Heyyyyyy Ohhhhh whoooahhohhhhoohhh

I did my shopping...and a teensy quick clean up. My heart is not in that. And I am not THAT good a mom.... I bought some take and bake pizzas from Costco and brownie bites....some other munchies...all bought. I am no Kristin.

Kristin-I'm about to go mix up a cheesecake for tomorrow night. It is my DH's favorite dessert. I've had the cream cheese sitting out for a while now, so hopefully it will not crack and I will open the oven door like you said.

Hi everyone , I'm still here! DH has to work late again so we're leaving first thing in the morning for the Poconos. He's off Monday so it will still be a long weekend. I'm just bummed and ready to leave NOW.

I just made an apple pie, it's in the oven. I'm going to try those Sandra Lee Lemon Turkey Cutlets tonight along with rigatoni a la vodka and some store bought garlic bread. Since were home, might as well cook a good dinner

Mare-Thank you for the link. Of course - mine split - I just can't cook like Kristin! I like that he uses heavy cream. The water bath sounds very interesting, I'm going to try it next time. I plan on slicing strawberries and layering them on top so my DH want even see the crack, I am determined to one day make one that does not split.

Mine ALWAYS split. I used Alton's recipe once and my cheesecake didn't cook enough. It was raw in the center.

I've since given up making cheese cake from scratch. Costco sells The Cheesecake Factory plain cheese cake for $9.99. It's less stress and actually cheaper to just buy it.

Oh, you can make a nice strawberry sauce by putting some of those strawberries in the blender. That would make a nice drizzle over the fresh strawberries

Lisa...it's the TASTE that counts. And I am sure yours will be great. When you put the strawberries all over it nobody will even know it cracked. AND...dummie me..I thought that was normal - a cracked top.

I just drove Z to work....I am so sad. I think he's depressed. I hate to say this...he doesn't read this board LOL...so whatever...HE CRIED in the car. omg...panic. He doesn't do that...that is SO NOT LIKE HIM...he said he's been feeling sad and bad for a while now....I couldn't believe it.,,it came out of nowhere and he said he didn't want to talk about it..because it just made him feel worse......He said he doens't know why.....makes me nervous. omg.....I hate my life sometimes.

Kids. Man...I go thru the day thinking OK..it's Friday..YAY and all that jazz and then he gets all gloomy and sad on me....something is up. I asked him if he would go talk to our Dr....we have the BEST young guy doctor and he is sooo easy to talk to....but he said NO....so we shall see....something is up. I got home and there was a hang up on my machine ...and the caller ID was Zack's school ...so maybe there is an issue there that he is upset about and just won't tell me. Something is funky for sure. That is so not normal for him.....I just looked at him...and said WHAT"S WRONG...and he said he doesn't feel good..I said WHAT??? And he said he has been feeling sad and depressed for a while....I asked how long and he said about a week.... And then we got in the car and he got really upset.....he wont talk about it though...he said he didn't want to get more upset.....so I shut up trying to pry. Have to wait until he gets off work.

Channing I am so sorry that your DS is feeling sad...parenting teens is never easy and I guess being a teen is not always easy either....maybe talk to Zachs guidance counselor at school...get some feed back on what might be going on there...

Lisa WTG on baking the cheese cake ...crack on top or not...all of our cheese cakes come from the bakery... Matter of fact now that I have cheese cake on my mind (and DH loves them!!) I think I'll get him one for Valentines Day... Thanks for the idea....

YES~ It is in the top of my closet.... I opened my suitcase and DH asked me what it was and I told him left over wine and he looked at me like what? I told him we had a whole case and we left some for a friend and I took the rest home for next year!

Chan~ Bummah about Z, I would keep encouraging him to talk whenever he feels like it and tell him that you will listen and not judge. Talking is such good therapy! Teens go through a lot theses days and I don't doubt he might be depressed.

Lisa: Drizzle is as close to Betty Crocker I can get I now know why your DH thought the Turkey Cutlets were salmon! They are so THICK!!! Way too thick for my family. I made three cutlets from just one!! I hate how turkey shreds when you slice it. I like the recipe, but next time I'm going to use thin-sliced chicken cutlets. I really liked the onion in the bread crumbs I think this recipe is a keeper!

Chan: Hearing about Z made me sad. It's a good think it's only been a week, and not several months. Would he talk to his dad?

BlueDeb: I'm so stuffed and I only had 1/2 a cutlet and about 1 ladle of pasta. I sorta over indulged on the garlic bread. Now I feel sick. DS1 is on his second bowl of pasta. This kid can eat! Enjoy your evening out.

Did you all hear about he plane crash this morning. It's all over our news. It's so sad - one woman on board who died had lost her husband in the south tower on 9/11. How tragic for one family! DH blames in on Friday the 13th. He's so superstitious. He would NEVER fly on this date.

So who's watching Wife Swap tonight? Hope it's a good one!

So sad.......it went so fast.

Mare...ugh...Zack and my husband do NOT get along. I'd have more chance of him talking to me.....I have to dig after he gets off work. He just didn't feel like talking in the car....work is a 2 min drive away. He couldn't bear his soul in 2 minutes. I am worried about that kid. I always have been. KIDS MAKE YA OLD.
