:bday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOJO!!!!!! :bday:

I'm popping in before DSs have to get up for school :teacher:. We got the call yesterday that there was a 2 hour delay this morning :yay:. It was kind of strange getting the call just an hour after the boys got home, but it is nice as they don't have to get up and get ready and THEN get the call it's delayed . But it is BITTERLY COLD :cold:.

Kel......I hope you feel better and your headache goes away soon . The negative temps you gals are to get Sat, we're getting now . The temp here right now is around -10.....and that's without wind chill :scared1:. The news said it's going to leave here and head east.....so all you east coast gals get ready and stay warm :grouphug:.

Chan.......I know what you mean about Jojo turning 9.....time does go by way too fast :sad1:. It's bad when any of our kids gets older, but when it's the BABY....it's worse :sad2:. My baby will be turning 14 in March :guilty:.

Siobhan.....Glad you're feeling better :flower3:.

Hope everyone has a good day and stays warm with these blustery temps :grouphug:.

Deb :)

I am up and not happy. Anty slept with Chris and I last night in our room. We are both tired today. I woke up with the worst headache ever! I just took 2 tylenol and now I am off to get DS9 ready for school. Sat its going to -6 in Boston. THAT IS CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy Crap! Well I was gonna complain about the cold front we are having but it is not that bad after all! :scared1:

Good Morning to all!!!

I am back from reading those friggin books and I have to ask anyone out there (Shelli) who read them all a quick question. WHEN DO I STOP THINKING ABOUT THESE BOOKS??????????? They are in my head, its so weird!!!!

Hay Channing Wish JOJO a great birthday!!! Its snowing and cold here, I hate it. Besides I have a painter here for 3 days and I am ready to get my house back in order!!!

If you are talking about Twilight you dont, LOL
I read all 4 books saw the movie and check sites to get all the latest news on New Moon. I love it! Now I have my sister addicted to the books and we talk about them all the time.

Thank you so much for confirming my thoughts. I was beginning to think something was wrong with me. I told a friend of mine whose daughter only read the first two to slow her down and hold off on the last two.

It sounds crazy but who won't want to be Bella??? As an adult I know that isn't real, but these is struggle in my head. Do you think these are really for teenagers????

I want to see the movie but I am afraid I'll never get these books out of my head, if I put real faces and voices to the characters. I just heard that she writing another book, its Edwards verzion of Twilight.

Happy birthday to JoJo!

Kelly: I hope you feel better!

Annette: I think I really need to get those books! They sound really good!

Kristin: I did like the Other Boleyn Girl as a book, but I agree when it comes to the other P.G. books: not my taste, too dark and no one to like. I sort of felt that way about TOBG too, but the story line was good and really interesting so I enjoyed it.

Channing: Have fun at Culver's LOL! Maybe you can say it is closed due to the cold!

Deb: I have to go to the library tomorrow and there is a Maggiano's right by there. I have never been but you make it sound so good that I made a reservation for me and my dad for tomorrow night (he works right by there as well)!

The TTA is one of my very favorites as well. Df likes it also. I'd never been on it until last October when I went with my dad and he needed a rest. I had heard it was great for that so we tried it out. I didn't know what I was missing; it is so peaceful and relaxing and so Disney!

When I woke up this morning, my phone said it was -8 for our zip code, with a -20 windchill. My phone also describes the weather (sunny, windy, rainy, etc.) It's description this morning was "-8, fair and pleasent" :confused3 I'm sorry, anything under 72 is not "pleasent" as far as I am concerned, and -8 is about as far from pleasent as I want to get. I feel bad for all you IL gals!

Have a great day everyone!

Happy Birthday JoJo!!!!!

Mandy- no complaining from you :) 45 sounds like pool weather to me today (ok- not really- and I know you must be freezing! Bundle up. No getting sick. )

Kel- I hope you feel better soon. It's almost time to start packing!!! Kids in bed is annoying- Em likes to sleep sideways. She is the only one that gets any sleep at all.

Hi Leighan! Nice to have a name for you. How fun that you and Siobhan got to meet this week.

Twilight? Stuck in your head? OH yeah it does. Seeing the movie changed it a bit. The cast was not what I had pictured. The movie was good, but the story in my mind was better. Part of the Edward book is online http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/pdf/midnightsun_partial_draft4.pdf She may or may not finish writing it, because it was not intended to be put on the internet in partial form. This is directly from her site- she posted it after the leak. I wish she would finish it...the beginning is amazing!!!!!!

That book is AWESOME I like it better than Twilight!
Its called midnight sun and you can read a bunch of it on Stephanie Meyers website. She hasnt finished it yet.

Morning everyone :flower3:

party: Happy Birthday Jojo! party:

It's snowing here, we're only expected to get a few inches. But it's COLD! I think the high today is 14!

Maxie: I LOVE the COP, but my family hates it. That's another one I haven't been on in years. I have to remember to go there for DS's nap! Good idea! :thumbsup2

Kelly: Hope you feel better

Annette: Hi :flower3:

Mandy: Shel's right, 45 degrees sounds warm right about now!

Amy: ONE WEEK! :yay:

Deb: Okay we need to talk Anniversary cakes. I've been reading the official thread and they mention something about a GF Anniversary cake, wonder what that is? It's $45 a bit much. They do make a nice chocolate ganach cake with marble design with an edible scroll that reads "xx years of magic" for $25. I think I might order one and have it delivered to 1900 Park Fare. We're celebrating our anniversary at Narcoossee's but I want to have their almond cheesecake for dessert, it's SO good! This chocolate cake looks really nice, somewhat fancy for $25. Even though, I know DH would prefer a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. But I don't want to create my own cake from scratch, I'm afraid of what they'll come up with. I don't want a boring store-bought looking cake. This chocolate one seems to be popular. Have you looked in to a cake yet?

Anyone have any comments on ordering a cake? Any photos, tips, suggestions? I know Chan, you have TONS :rotfl: I don't want to break the bank here as it's really just for the four of us.

I need another cup of tea. I'm FREEZING! There's a chill coming from around the wall a/cs - that's never happened before!

Stay warm everyone!
Mare

Good Morning All!

Snow day here! It was-20 this AM with windchills -40. The phone rang at 5am on the nose to tell us school was closed :sad2:

I just brewed a big 'ol pot of Kona Coffee to keep me warm! :surfweb: And the library is closed too so I can't get the book  Thanks for the tip on her other ones. I like a little smut with my books, so if she is going to go all amish on me then I won't like it!

Happy Bday JoJo!! :cheer2:

Leighann- welcome to the group!! See it's not so scary having your name out there! :goodvibes Come on Blue Skies, you can do it!!! :thumbsup2

Um, hello, an IL meet at Maggiano's?! Did someone forget about me??? ;) :rotfl:

Hope Kel and Siobhan feel better soon! :wizard:

Oh, I remember now, McD's Diet Coke! :faint: They have the best fountain drinks EVER!! I remember being pregnant (and off Diet Coke and drinking regular) and I would send DH at the strangest times to get me one. I don't care much for their food either (an occasional chicken Mcnugget, but that is all) If we do fast food it is usually Subway and sometimes Portillos (AWESOME hotdog and pasta place)

Off to catch up elsewhere!

I would love to see the movie and read the beginning of that book, but honestly I need a healthly step back from the whole series!!! I need to move on!!!!

I need my obsession with WDW and the GF to come back into full gear!!! lol lol lol!!!!

Hey all!!

It is a school holiday because of Jojo's bday.:goodvibes

Kristin
, I just checked the weather channel now at almost 10 and it's -11 with -32 windchill.....UN fricken real. THat is scary cold. OF COURSE you are coming to Maggiano's with us!:rotfl: PG's books do have smut...except sometimes it's between brothers and sisters...and worse. It's nasty smut. Not fun smut. On the dark disturbing side.

We got the call at 4:50 am for the girls....then the DS got a call from his friend, whose neighbor's are teachers that HIS disctrict would be closed also...then the alarms still went off and THEN my parents called while I wass sleeping like a rock.....they are coming early. Oh well. Jojo is thrilled beyond belief.

I bought her the Carissa doll and a few other things...but all i let her open so far was the doll until my parents come.

Thanks for all the Happy Bdays, Jojo! :rotfl: I showed her and she giggled. She was like PINK and PURPLE!!! (her favorites. Blue is her "enemy")

Kel.
..ugh...feel better. At least Chris is at work.:rotfl:

Amy
omg...one week!!! I have goosebumps for you!!

I am so not ready to touch those books yet. They better not have smut...i let my 12 yr old read them. My friend's husband read them before he let their dd - and Lucy's bFF read them...so they better not have smut. Men might not have the same understanding of smut.......:rotfl:

OK!! TTYL!
Chan

Hey, I finally figured out how to post pictures! I'm so proud of myself! :goodvibes

Deb: Here's the $25 chocolate ganache cake from the GF bakery. (not my cake, found it on the Official thread) I think it looks really nice for $25

chocolategfcake.jpg

I just found this one. Maybe I can do this with a carrot cake w/cream cheese frosting? Wonder how much that would cost? If it's more than $25 I'd rather have the chocolate ganache one then. I think the Mickey & Minnie would be cute on a anniversary cake :cutie:

mickeyminniecake.jpg

This one is cute too, especially since we're dining at Tony's now. DH wants to go there. But I'm don't think it's worth $45 :sad2: (this was made at the MK Bakery)

Okay, and here's MY CAKES! :yay:

This was my bday cake DH ordered from the GF Bakery. They delivered it the second we got in the room :headache: He asked for it to be delivered AFTER dinner! Oh, well.. Like how they left the receipt right next to the cake! :rotfl: $38 tax and tip. It was a cheesecake and very very good! :thumbsup2

WDWjune08001.jpg

This was the frozen no-frills Crystal Palace cake for $12. It was still cold in the center. It was the thought that counts :goodvibes They ran out of Happy Bday disks and had to use Congrat! :upsidedow

WDWjune08009.jpg

And last... the overpriced strawberries. I think the whole platter w/mickey came to $65

Sorry I took up so much space with cakes! I'm just so happy to finally share some photos! :woohoo:

I read on the community board that Johnny Depp is getting married.

Steps away and covers ears for Kristins screaming...

Mare: those cakes look yummy! I really like the first one, it looks like it would taste fabulous! I thought about ordering a cake for DF and I, then decided that we didn't need anymore cake; we'll have all of our leftover wedding cake. Maybe next time! Did you know that if you get married at Disney, they can pull up your file and create a minireplica of your wedding cake for an anniversary? I think it is pretty expensive and we would probably never do it, but it would be pretty cool!
