Sheli- You crack me up. I love the part about forgetting someone. I only have two kids and dropped Lexi off at preschool and there was no school that day!! No kidding. Thanks goodness it was at our church. I left the parking lot and thought it looked pretty quiet around there and turned around and ran back.

I am back. I was shaking at the UPS store. Don't know why but I am a basket case!! The lady was sooo sweet and promised it would all be there in time. I was thinking to myself "It better be lady" No just kidding!!

Whew...I have things under control here.

Vanessa...I am glad it's on it's way!! I had that shaking feeling today!!! I was in the PO waiting in a hideous line and feeling so much pressure. I only ran a couple errands because I knew what I was coming home to....had to take care of this place. Wow!!! You leave soon!! You will LOVE the Grand Floridian.

The snow is here. Crap. I am sick of winter and sick of Christmas...and sick of kids....sick of cookies and wrapping and shopping...and cleaning.....it goes on and on.

OK....I heard a wicked nasty rumor on a podcast today....just a "rumor" that they might "take the Grand Floridian off line" for a bit and totally restore it to it's former GLORY....because of the economy so they can totally shut it down....seems stupid to me but that's an idea/rumor the podcasters threw out there from something they heard from somebody .....As I tell Lucy...probably from something somebody's cousin's sister's boyfriend's dog read from the book of lies. But....still it's a crummy thing to hear possibly happening. And that after my mom emails me that she read (hopefully in that same book ) that the country is going into a DEPRESSION. OMG..... Say it isn't so. I was really looking for things to get better.

I have to take Jojo to ballet today.....pick up LUcy, run to ballet..and hopefully at least have a nice chat with my mom friends over there.

Channing Thanks for the gingerbread house tips...we've only made them from kits but since we're going to make your recipe I think we might TRY to make the house too... Ours sure dosent look like the ones the lady makes at the GF... BTW dont like that GF rumor one bit...

Amy We're not staying in a suite for our next trip...but I was thinking for future trips...always thinking about the next trip!!...the kids are getting bigger...more space is always nice...a suite in an outer building might be less expensive too...I am always trying to be cost conscious!!!

Mare We didnt really like Ohanas either...I thought the meats were kind of dry... a fun atmosphere for younger kids though...We all like the Kona Cafe...lots of yummy stuff!!

Deb I have to agree about the signature restaurants...they are always sooo nice about accomodating picky eaters...quite a few years ago at Citricos the waiter asked DD what she would like for dinner and she said scrambled eggs!! Dont you know he brought her out scrambled eggs-and this was after we reassured him she didnt need them and we would choose something from the menu!!! My kids were never too picky...so we usually have been able to find something that they liked but IMO that is above and beyond...

Afternoon Gals


It's been snowing here for awhile now and it looks like a winter wonderland . As much as I hate the cold and winter........I have to admit......it's actually pretty outside right now and I like it . We have atleast a couple of inches on the ground already and it's STILL snowing . The news said 2-5" but with the way it's snowing we may end up with more than that . The only bad thing is that with the rain we got Sunday and then it getting so cold everything underneath is ice . DS just got done plowing our driveway and the neighbor's and it doesn't even look like he did it........that's how steady it's snowing .


BlueSkies........WTG on the shopping . It's such a good feeling to be done or almost there . Keep at it and you'll be done in no time . I had a few things to wrap that I got done today so I think that's pretty much it for me....so if I stay out of the stores I'll be alright .


Chan........Is it snowing heavy up by you?? I think you will get more than me down here.......I think they said higher totals for up your way ?

I'm glad I'm not the only one running around with their head cut off!
Between Nutcracker, exams and basketball along with wrapping ,baking and STILL decorating the tree, I need a big glass of wine! I read the last few posts but I need to catch up on the last 5 or 6 pages- hope everyone is doing great!

Here's my gingerbread house that made it in one piece! The second pic shows the "10th Anniversary" white chocolate medallion on the side of the chimney:

I took off the cellophane and my dog went crazy sniffing so it went back on! I'm afraid he will get to it and eat it up if I take it off so it's staying on! Darn dog!

I am HOME!! Whoohoooo!!!!

And ...OMG....Deb, the snow is awful AWFUL!! People are moving like 10 mph on rural routes they normally go 65 on. Wicked bad.....and it's still coming down. I love my 4WD...but it's bad and the roads ARE NOT PLOWED AT ALL!!!

Yes...what the heck with that weird rumor? Kinda scary.

There are one and two bedroom suites in all the buildings....yes the space would be nice.

All you gingerbread house builders!!!!! Did you see this link I posted a few pages back? It was filmed at the GF....with Ellen the gingerbread lady.

In a way I hope we get enough for there to be a 2 hour school delay . I could not live without my 4WD.......I have had a truck for so many years that I told DH I could never go back to a car .

Disney at Christmas sounds like so much fun . One of these years we'll actually go over Christmas . Speaking of........I think I finally decided on our dates for next December . Hopefully I'll be booking that soon so I can add another ticker .

OMG...and I am wondering about poor Dawn. She's trying to get downtown to see her beloved Celine tonight at the United Center. My husband worked downtown today....he is having a HORRID drive home right now.

I hope Dawn makes it to see Celine. I know she will get there one way or another even if she has to get out of the car & hoof it. She might even move faster that way than in the crazy traffic.

OMG....I forgot about Dawn going to United Center tonight . Channel 5 said the expressways were HORRIBLE and people were experiencing traffic jams up to 4 hours long . I hope your husband gets home soon . And I hope Dawn makes it to the concert......and that she makes it safely .

Shel: $500 in gift cards in three years! That's awesome!! I don't think the CS Y&Y takes the gift cards, I think it's just for sit-down restaurants. I'm not 100% sure Landy (parent company) owns the CS location. I'd love to use it at T-Rex!

Lisa: Love your photos! We missed seeing the Osborne Lights. We went to Epcot instead for the tree lighting the night they were also turning the Osborne Lights on. We went to Epcot just for the characters that do a mini show before the lighting, well this was the only time the characters were not going to be there!! I was so MAD!!! The next night we planned to go to the Osborne Lights again and got MVMCP tickets at the last minute. Rainy yucky night. Of course DH blames me for not seeing the lights, but the turned them on late this year!!!

Chan: Hope you relax and have a wonderful evening after such a hectic day.

I heard a rumor that they might close POP due to the economy and reopen it with the Legendary Years section remodeled with family suites. Personally, I think the POP lovers are making this GF rumor!

Deb: It's raining here, no snow. I would like a winter wonderland for xmas, that would be so pretty

Ugh!! My niece is over since my SIL had a xmas party to attend and these kids are driving me crazy! I hate when things disrupt our weekday routine. I have three kids jumping on the sofa, putting on the lights - just out of control!! They need to calm themselves down and watch Mary Poppins!!! (ABC Family channel - love the 25 movies to xmas!)

I saw Mary Poppins was on and passed that channel. Did not want the kids to see that. We have them all in bed already. Keep telling them theyhave to get up around 4am sat morning so its early bed this week.

Im enjoying the coating of snow we are getting here and i was also in the mood for a BBQ so yes i just cooked a few filet mignons that we had in the freezer. I got more than a bit wet but they were so good!!!

With the kids in bed I hope to get my disney stuff together, finish packing..find some credit cards i have no balance on, pay some bills.


I did just get bad news...my friends brother died today. He wasn't even 50 years old. It was totally unexpected by everyone. I feel so bad for him and his family. The wake should be thursday.

I know there are just a few of us in NY but did anyone see what our idiot governor wants to tax?
music downloads, soda, movies, satellite radio, cable tv...return the tax on clothes under $110.


People think im funny because i have no problem (well almost no problem) paying Disney's rates for a room night but can be so cheap on other things.
I have no problem giving up a bunch of the following items.

But it's the $4 billion in new fees and taxes that are sure to aggravate everyday New Yorkers, who would be paying more for a host of services:

An "iPod tax" that charges state and local sales tax for "digitally delivered entertainment services" - in other words, that new Beyonce song you download.
State sales tax at movie theaters, sporting events, taxis, buses, limousines and cable and satellite TV and radio.
Costlier driving with the repeal of the 8-cents-per-gallon sales tax cap on motor and diesel motor fuel, plus and increase in the auto rental tax.
Tuition increases at SUNY and CUNY, $620 and $600 a year respectively.
A 50 cent tax on cigars. The current tax is equal to 37% of the wholesale price, or 34 cents a cigar.
No more sales tax break on clothes and shoes worth $110 or less, except during two weeks a year.
Higher taxes on wine, beer and flavored malt beverages. He would also impose an 18% tax on non-nutritional drinks like soda.
The rich would pay more for luxury items through an additional 5% tax imposed on cars costing more than $60,000, aircraft costing more than $500,000, yachts costing at least $200,000 and jewelry and furs costing in excess of $20,000.
In addition, a host of a fees, including those related to motor vehicle licensing and registration, parks and auto insurance, would go up, as would various state-imposed fines.

Good evening all! We have nasty freezing rain here right now. I would take the snow anyday over this. I am so glad that Michele won the biggest loser. This season was so good, but January 9 th starts a new one already. There is a 19 year old boy that weights 450! OMGosh. I can't wait till it starts. Have a great night.
