No school delay this morning but DS did make it back to school today . He's not feeling 100% but he felt ok enough to go......so hopefully he'll be alright for the rest of the week and then he can rest for the next 2 weeks over break .


Mare......Sounds like you had quite a night last night with all the kids . I hope they settled down for you after awhile so you could relax . Have fun shopping today......good luck getting everything you're looking for .


Marvel......So sorry about your friend's brother . We've also got a wake to go to tonight . The dad of my brother's best friend passed away Monday . It makes it worse when when these things happen around the holidays. I'm tearing up right now thinking about it because the whole family was at a Christmas party on Sunday and they took a family picture......then their dad died on Monday. There are 8 kids in the family and I think all but maybe one is married with kids.......so the family is huge......so atleast they have alot of them to get each other through this .

Kelly......Hope things are going ok since the storm. We are in for an ice storm starting tomorrow afternoon/evening into Friday . Not sure where it's headed after us but hopefully you won't get any more nasty stuff with what you just went through .



Hi Chan.......Did you hear about the lovely ice storm we have headed our way . I think I prefer to get a foot of snow to that .

Marvel...wow..I am sorry about your friend's brother. How tragic.

Deb....that is terrible about your brother's best friend's dad....another sad story.

Nothing new here....trying to get Jojo out the door. She needs to make the bus because there is no way I want to leave my warm house and drive her. I need to wrap some gifts and get organized. (so what's new?! )

Blue Skies, I hope the cookies go well!! We watched Ellen's demo a few times, too. The girls enjoyed it & wanted to watch it over and over. Plus...Jojo knew the answer to the trivia questions about the gingerbread house and liked to show off.

yes...ice headed our way. Bad bad bad.......Just so the sun is shining and the day is clear and precip free on Feb 5 and 9th.

Marval- I am sorry about your friends brother, it is awful no matter when, but too young and right before the holidays makes it seem so much worse.

We are planning a trip for next December right before Christmas . How much fun it would be if all of us gals planned trips at the same time and got together down there . Then DH and DSs could meet all the crazy Dis gals that I chat with on a daily basis .

Good morning!

I hope everyone who wanted to finish their shopping gets it done today!

We got snow and freezing rain here yesterday, but it looks like a lot of it will be melting off today, thank goodness.

Channing: I tried the pappermint cookies last night. After I figured them out, they came out pretty well. DF and the dog love them (I made extra filling and then had some left over and DF was using it to dip fruit in, )! I think I'll make some more to take to my parents house on Christmas eve. The gingerbread dough is in the refrigerator right now. I'm going to make those tonight, after we get back from the gym

Yes i went to sleep at 10:30 last night which is 1 1/2 hrs early for me, oh and the dog got me up at 5:30 to go out so once i am up i am up, no going back to bed for me! I actually have been trying to get up about 6:15 and i feel so much more productive! Gives me time to toss a load in the wash and fold the one from the night before and get dressed and put my face on so i don't look like a bum when i take DD into school. Trust me i am UGLY without my makeup!

I am feeling better. I talked to a friend on the phone for a few hours the other day and she really helped me put things in perspective. She is a counselor and she is so good, plus she is a mom and a good good friend.

The podcast peeps are nice, i was so disappointed I missed the tree lighting for Bob. There are cool peeps around here!

Before I start, Mandy, I am so sorry about your DHS day. I would have been beside myself as well. Thank goodness it worked out. Please follow through with corporate on the matter. That CM ought to be ashamed of themself We have never played in that area (DS doesn't even know it is there ) and certainly won't now!!!!

Here is a quick recap of the trip

- Outbound flight was delayed 90 minutes
- We were in the really far section of Pop and couldn't wait to leave
- Our room was ready when we got to the GF early Saturday and we were excited beyond belief about our upgrade! (Pics to follow)
- They were able to get us our park tickets a day early so we went to MK for a couple of hours on Saturday.
- We saw Miley sing for the Christmas parade (pics to follow)
- We got our AP's!!
- Weather was beautiful except for one AM of POURING rain.
- Crowds were pretty light (only saw the Pop Warner people one night at the Haunted Mansion- DO NOT RIDE THAT WITH CHEERLEADERS!!!!)
- Our new favorite ride is EE. We rode it 3 times!!!
- We rode Toy Story Mania 3 times (once at rope drop and then we got 2 sets of fast passes. We picked up our second set at 11:15 am, which was the first available time to get more, and we got the last FP's of the day!)
- DH conquered Buzz with 999,999 3 times!!!
- Sig and Edgar from the Deadliest Catch were in Norway- DH was beside himself!!!
- We had OUTSTANDING CM's at all of our meals.
- Our favorite meals were Narcoosess, Cali Grille and CRT dinner. We had window seats for all 3. We saw Holiday Wishes at Narcoosess and the Castle lighting at Cali Grille. The food at CRT was REALLY good and it far exceeded our expectations!
- Our least favorite meals were Cape May Cafe and Ohana character breakfasts. They were running 30 minutes behind at each and Cape May wasn't even that busy
- MVMCP was AMAZING!! The castle was beautiful and we saw a ton of characters and there were NO WAITS for the rides!!
- Candlelight Processional wa beautiful, but my "boys" didn't like it!
- It got really chilly in the evenings, so bring the winter coats and gloves! We could see our breath one night
- DS got sick in the Buzz line at 10:30pm on our last night The front desk agreed to let us keep our room until 1pm (only after I told them I had no choice but to let him sit in their lobby with a bucket until 3pm when the DME bus was coming!!! ) but they didn't tell housekeeping who kept coming to see if we were gone yet. DH finally told the maid, in Spanish, what happened and then they left us alone. We left the room at 12:30 when DS woke up since he wanted to go see the Tiki Birds (go figure). We finished our snack credits too. He slept the whole plane ride home
- At the airport it took 55 minutes for the luggage to make it to the baggage claim! We kept going into baggage services to complain but they wouldn't tell us what the hold up was.

Overall it was a great trip. DH was in much better spirits once we arrived. We rented a boat one afternoon and while driving around by the CR he said, "Forget it! I am not staying here. Have Kel switch us to the GF..." So Kelly, I will be emailing you in the coming days about the dates. We might go in early November instead Our AP's expire on 12/6/09 so we have to be home by then.

Well......I got home this afternoon to a message from the asst. principal at the middle school . DS was involved in an incident in Spanish class . I tried calling her back but didn't get her........she said DS will be coming home with a discipline slip that I need to sign and return tomorrow . He's usually the one I don't have to worry about........DS15 is the one who gets caught socializing more than doing his work . Can't wait to hear what the "incident" was . Dh just called and I told him.....he said he probably got in trouble for throwing tacos . Ya all see what I have to live with .



Kristin.....Thanks for the report........I'm glad you had an awesome time . I can't wait to go back during the holidays next December . I'm sorry you had a bad experience at Cape May Cafe . We LOVE that place and have never had a bad meal/experience there in 7 years . But things do change sometimes . Sorry about DS getting sick ......I couldn't imagine having a little one sick like that and having to fly home.....but seems like things worked out ok for you and he got a well deserved nap on the flight home . I bet now you can't wait for your next trip to get here. I've still got some things to plan for our June trip but my mind always seems to be on the December one that's a year away rather than 6 months away . Very excited to see your pics......I can't wait .


Mandy.....Glad you're feeling better today . Sounds like you have an awesome friend who's really helping you through this .


Amy....I hope all the snow/freezing rain you got is melting away. We are in for an ice storm tomorrow ......hopefully it won't be as bad as they say .

I almost forgot!!!!

I had a "Channing Moment" at CRT. We were watching the fairy godmother show when I got a whiff of something Some poor kid got sick all over the table about 4 tables away. I have never seen so many people spring to action so quickly to clear it away. I don't even think the majority of the people in the restaurant had a clue what happened. If it wasn't for the smell I probably woluld have assumed he just spilled his drink. Major kudos to the CM's there for handling it quickly!!!

In case I didn't mention it, we were truly blown away by that meal!! The food was divine, the show was cute and we all had a great time! DH insists that we do that one again next year!!!

DH already got it! He came down with it Monday. I am fine so far, but I am a psycho hand washer, so hopefully that will help!! Plus, when DS first got sick at Buzz, DH was the one holding him and turned him into the bushes just in time. So he had much closer contact than I did. That poor bush though! I am sure it is dead

I wasn't that mad about Cape May, but DH was FUMING!!! We had one of the last seatings and the table we were seated at was empty when we arrived 25 minutes earlier. He figured the hostesses mush have been incompetent. We thought the food was OK but not great. It is just too much of a hassle to get there from the GF. Next year we will skip it and eat at the GF Cafe instead!

Ohana seemed like a longer wait, but it was PACKED in there. The characters came quickly, and spent a fair amount of time with us, so it worked out. I can take or leave this place, but DS likes to see Stitch.

I think by this late in the trip we were both character meal-ed out. We ate at one EVERY morning of the trip

BTW, DH did the math on the DxDDP and we ate $1700 worth of food and the plan cost $1160. So it was a good value, but a lot of food. We were at our best when we could breakfast mid morning and then do a signature dinner at night. 3 meals in one day was really a lot of food though!!!

OK, I have to get back to I feel like that is all I have done for the past few days!

Tonight i have to visit the (shudder) inlaws so the kids can see them, then go to my granny's house to take all the stuff i stored there when i got married since the house is being sold this month and then i hope i get to empty out and clean the minivan.
Im trying so hard not to leave anything for friday night so we can relax and sleep early.

Hey guess what? weather dot com has snow listed for Christmas eve and Day. I bet it will be a blizzard and i'll miss it!

I know, Mare...I was wondering too ......So strange how totally inconsistent the restaurants are. We ate at the castle many times and while it was OK....it was just that. OK. And Cape May!! That is a favorite!!! Weird......Bummer we sent Kristin over there.
