OK- I figured out I can only ship Fedex or UPS because the post office delivers to a central area at WDW.

Joke of the day: How do you know if you are a Redneck....you do not have FedEx or UPS anywhere near your local community!

So off to figure out where I can ship this stuff from!

OMG! That happened to me over the summer while I was in the Poconos. I had to return something to QVC, they even emailed me the UPS return label, I could NOT find a UPS drop off box!!! I had to wait until I came home to the city and just gave it to the doorman as we have UPS/FedEx deliveries daily. It was so strange not being able to find a drop off box in the country!!

Yes, the bellman will hold all your stuff for however long you want them to. Back in June, I shipped down three huge boxes of stuff, got a stroller from another DISer that she purchased in WDW and didn't want to bring home (it was barely used!). EVERYTHING was delivered to our room with our luggage all at once - without asking!! So just make sure to tell them what you want them to hold

HI, I have sick kids now...... DD4 has daddy's virus I thought we had escaped it but I was up all night with her. I am just thankful that it is running its course before Thanksgiving!

Off to read while i can but I have to say that Mare every time you mention the Poconos i think of my friend Dana and her DH, they honeymooned at some cheesy 80's place with a champagne glass bath tub type thing.......... I was her bridesmaid and had to hear how it was the honeymoon of her dreams and on and on. Of course there were tons of pictures of the place and I had to pretend to think it was fabu!

Mandy......Sorry about DD being sick . I hate when those viruses go from one person to the next . In our house it's always easier for me nursing the kids back to health than DH . And you're right......if it's gonna happen better it happens now before Thanksgiving . I hope DD feels better soon .

Sorry to hear your little one is sick. My little one was up coughing the entire night. It was so bad at times it woke him and everyone else up.

Vanessa...I am glad FIL is on the mend a bit. I was going to say DON"T SHIP USPS!! They will rip you off, too. AND...don't wait too long like I did. I had to use UPS's guaranteed 2 or 3 day delivery - or better...can't remember and it cost over $100 to ship my stuff. I shipped a week before Xmas Eve....so I would ship mid December. Put your name and check in date on it....even your ressie number if you are comfortable with that....I did. Bell services can keep your stuff for you. But...I would call when you check in to confirm that the boxes are THERE & let them know your plan.

DEb...I am the same way! Stay in....it's too cold!! I heard you guys are going to get slammed again today with up to 9 inches of snow.

Siobhan...Marshalls has been calling my name for weeks now!! It was too nice to shop...and now too COLD to leave the house if I can help it. High of 30 today.....29 tomorrow. I hate it.

Chan......It's very depressing . I watched the news this morning hoping for a change in forecast, but no such luck . They said Porter county (which is us) could see upwards of 6 inches or more depending on where in Porter county you are . Then further east toward LaPorte, South Bend, and Michigan could see up to a FOOT OR MORE .


I really should get moving and do something here today but I just DON'T WANNA . I keep thinking the Christmas decorations aren't going to put themselves up so I really should start that.....but I'm just not in the mood . Plus I have tons of to do . I better quit thinking about it because the more I do that, the longer the list gets .

Vanessa: I forgot to mention, the stroller that the DISer left me, she left with the front desk. The stroller was noted in my reservation. The bellman got my boxes from the luggage room, got our luggage from DME and got our stroller from the front desk. All without being told to do so. We went to our room at 2:30, everything showed up at 2:45.

You had to see the look on DH's face when they showed up at our room with TWO luggage carts!

I've also read that if you ask mousekeeping, they can store your unused suitcases for you (we've done this on cruises, never in WDW) I wonder if they could store your boxes there as well??

I'm off to go shopping in NJ. DS1 is down to one pacifier, he lost about a dozen of them! BlueSkyes: Talking about legos on the plane, my DS1 likes to throw his pacifier as far as possible! He actually winds his arm up to throw it! And the strap doesn't help. He'll unclip it and throw it all! He's annoyed so many traveling business men!

Damn, forgot to order my car up from the garage, I hope there isn't a wait!

I need help with my ADRs..I am just not happy with them! I have stupis Marrekesh lunch that is a must for DH, Cape May breakfast, 1900 PF ( i think I am going to give this one up), and Kona. Anybody have any suggestions???

I always ship UPS just because I have a UPS store on the corner. My two average-size boxes cost me $21 for 5 day ground.

I always allow at least 8 full days from check in. During Dec, I'd allow a few more days.

When addressing the box, I always write "Hold for guest: Mr. and Mrs. Suchandsuch Arriving: 11/24/08" I included the reservation this time only because we're staying CL and the IPO said they'll make sure the CL is aware of the boxes. Normally, I leave it off. I do make sure I write it on each side of the box. They stack the boxes up in the luggage room and it will be easier to find your boxes if you label all the sides.

You will get a tracking # with UPS or Fed Ex. Just keep tracking it online. Once it says "delivered" call the resort. Tell them I know "soandso" just signed for my boxes, can you note it in my reservation that they are there and in the luggage room.

Are you staying CL when you arrive? Because make sure you have something to open the boxes with. I usually use so much packing tape that I can never open the boxes!

Siobhan......We love Cape May breakfast.....that's a good one to keep . Also Kona is one of our favs too . As far as the others........we haven't been to 1900 PF for quite a few years (but that's on our list for June ) and we've never been to Marrakesh (sp?). Not too much help, am I .


Princesses........I hope your trip to the dentist wasn't too bad . Good idea for shopping and lunch to reward yourself afterwards .....the dentist is never an appointment to look forward to . Have fun shopping .

Mandy...LOL. Yes...I am here...totally Green Acres...only they are brown and gray right now.....ugly.

The stores did not call to me loudly enough. I just straightened up the house and spent a long time playing Barbie Beauty Shop on my dog. OMG....she is a hair ball. I took sooo much fur off her. *I can feel you cringing, Mandy*....but I am Cruella Deville and have NO trouble with fur. I love fur. Tatum was dropping clumps of fur...she is shedding some and getting a thicker winter coat...and it got nasty...I'd see these giant clumps and think..OMG IS THAT A DEAD MOUSE? Nope...just a mound of fur. ugh...she needs to be brushed about an hour a day for a few weeks.

Well...it's quiet here!!! Everybody is out shopping. Deb..it was snowing a bit here, too, a while ago. Are you guys getting hit hard?

We used DME to the resorts for the first time on our last trip and although very organized - the line was long it took us about 15 min just to get to the desk (it was summer though busier time )

Did they have all the 'stations' manned? ive had waits that started where the ropes start and dont think i waited that long. I remember 13 castmembers working and the line went fast.

OK- I have a ? about shipping stuff to the resort. I need to get my presents wrapped and ship them down.
Anyway- does it matter how much stuff? I really do not want to pick it up until Christmas Eve because I am not sure where I am going to hide all of this in the room. Any suggestions?? HELP ME!

I've shipped down and has just my name and check in date on the box.
You can ask them to hold it until a certain date.
Im probably going to ask them to bring ours when we check in. We won't open it until Christmas Eve and our little ones won't really pay attention to it

Chan - It's still snowing here a little......pretty much just flurries but nothing major (yet) . Not sure if we'll get much this time around or not . Parts of Porter county are supposed to get quite a few inches, but it may turn out to be further east of us . Just have to wait and see how the night progresses....but I'm hoping for very little, if any .

Hi all!

The germs are gone!!!!I feel a million times better and DS slept for 13 hours last night and was raring to go this AM! No fever, minimal stuffiness so off he went! Let's hope it stays away!!!

Mare- everytime I read about your doorman, I keep thinking about the Seinfeld episode where Jerry ticks off the doorman at Mr. Pitts apartment and someone steals the couch from the lobby! I've always lived in a house, never an apartment, so this doorman thing is a hoot to me!!!
