It is nice . Although my oldest DS wants nothing to do with football and just doesn't get into it . But the younger one loves it and can't wait for Fridays to get here as well as Sundays or Mondays to watch the Dallas Cowboys . But I always thought football was THE boringest (is that a word???) thing to watch...until I tried to understand it .

OK....I've been on this computer way too long this morning.....I better get going and get some things done around here . I'll catch you all later .

Hey! Morning!!

Mandy!! Your story cracks me up!!!!! I can just picture it & I love it! The knife and the ball!! It sounds very Desparate Housewives to me....and I have never seen that show!! Ugh...I need my sleep too!!! I HATE these early hours.

Lucy is supposed to be up about 5:30...and she has NOT been doing it. Today for some funky reason I happened to wake up at 5:45 to find her sleeping...her lights were on but she turned off her radio and went back to bed! It wasn't as bad as our 8 min marathon to get her going on the bus yesterday but I had to STAND THERE in the hallway and make sure she moved her tail FAST. I hate early mornings...but it will onlky get worse when the time changes and the cold weather comes. These are the GOOD days. Then I started panicking because it was about 6 am and I hadn't heard Zack up....I went, turned on his room light and NO ZACK in bed! (I hate when that happens) So I was hollaring thru the house....and he does his laundry in the middle of the night....(OMG...it's true and other parents say their teens do that too!) and he was down in the laundry room getting dressed. Total crazy household here.

NOw it's quiet....ah....but I have to get moving to walk w/my neighbor. SO...talk to ya all later!

I am so not a sports fan either...so talk amongst yourselves.

Vanessa....OMG....I hope your Xmas plans aren't canceled. This has been a rough weather year for farmers. I bet you're gonna be socked with a ton of claims due to ths flood. To see the pics on the news is so sad! I cannot imagine how you even CLEAN all that out of your house......ugh.. I am worried about this scary economy, too.

Kristin....so whatcha baking today? LOL....sorry about that strike...that is so crummy they can't work it out. ComE ON PEOPLE! Geesh....most would be thrilled to have a 5% raise.

PS....I LOVE the sweaters they have in the NOrway pavillion in Epcot...the DALE ones....I own several - one purchased there in Epcot - and others from the NOrway Store....BUT Sierra Trading Post has a selection. I just bought myself a $350 one for less then 1/2 that!! Just an FYI if anybody else likes them.

Still on strike

They are meeting again later today. Can someone PLEASE explain to me why these meetings only take place at night???????? Last time I checked there wasn't school happening in the middle of the day preventing this

The BOE is claiming that they will NOT be making up these days. (I think that might just be a ploy to let the teachers know they will NOT be getting this money in June for working the make up days.)

It is ugly. We are a small community and this is the district's first strike. Everyone seems to have an opinion, everyone seems to have a side (mine is for the students, not the BOE or the HEA) and it is making it ugly. The BOE (Board of Education)pulled their health insurance bennies today unless they come pay the premiums. The HEA (Teacher's Union) came back to the negotiating table last night with a higher salary demand than where they left off late Sunday. People on the local newspaper blogs are going CRAZY with this.

I need to work out and get to the grocery store.

If I may propose another suggestion, however, , please no more political talk here. Let's save that nonsense for the CB. I learned long ago not to discuss politics with friends and since there are many of us on different sides of the aisle with this, lets just agree to disagree and leave it alone. Thanks

Mandy~ So sorry about your crappy day!! Hope it gets better!!! Don't worry...we have all been there. Don't think I have popped a ball with a knife but I am sure I have done something close if I thought about it!!

Channing~ Houses with flood water are totally gross. A lot of times I go ahead and call a cleaning company to go out and get rid of the water before I inspect. Much easier! I just feel sorry for the poor people who have to deal with it.

Christmas is still on for now. I called DVC and did a lot of waitlisting for studios etc so I would only have point stays just in case and I would not be out any money on resort part of it. Then it would be food and extras which would not be that bad if I cut it down a bit. If we get a heavy wind storm though...it may be toast. Here is a little lesson in Agriculture for the day. The high waters damage the roots of the corn which make them very weak. A lot of wind can put your entire field on the ground. We have a TON of money invested this year due to the high input costs. Just like everything else...the price is high for seed, chemicals etc. Twice as much as a few years ago. Anyway...sorry for my rant but it just stinks. This is one year where the prices are good and we thought we would have a good crop...but here we go again! The good thing is that the sun is out and the forecast is good so I keep praying we can get into the field soon!

Yeah it can but as long as everyone is honest I dont care. I know Obamas ads stretch the truth to and they ads they are both running are disgusting.
THye should both be ashamed and just start running on the issues but I dont think that will happen. My social views just line up better with Obama, and some with McCain but not palin. She was a deal breaker for me.

ETA I think over at the CB its just an endless stream of crap and trashing each other without either side opening there eyes and admiting they both arent doing the right thing. I know McCain doesnt wanna stay in Iraw for 100 years and I am ick of hearing it. But I am sick if McCain saying Obama is gonna raise taxes on the middle class. He isnt. Id ont kow middle class families make 250,000 a year and if they are they arent middle class. It seems both of have gotten off message and that whole we are going to run a different campagin was crap.
The only peeps who suffer with this are us real people.

Annette, I just watched that funny YouTube!! COOL!! Thanks for posting that!!!! Although....I hate to say it, but I do NOT like the look of those rooms one bit. I actually cringed. Ick. I think the whole tower is UGLY and an eyesore. I think it is Disney greed at it's best actually. It is ugly, and misplaced & looks so much like it doesn't "go" there....just so they can get a BIG BUCK from peeps that are DVC or want to join DVC and be near the MK. It doesn't fit in at all. I am a CR fan - but only becuase it's the original and it's Walt's plan. This new "tower" is just bleh and doesn't add anything positive to the look of Seven Seas Lagoon....it looks ....UGLY.

Wanted to add I do think CR looked better w/o the new tower...but it is great to have a DVC so close to MK..

Kristin.....Sorry about the strike . It's terrible they turned down a 5% raise and are now asking for still MORE than before . They need to suck it up and get back to work as they're only hurting the children .

Meatloaf is in the oven and I am getting ready to go to rehearsals but i wanted to let everyone know my dad is out of the hospital! The doctor wanted one more day but you know insurance company's they wanted him OUT! He is staying till the end of the week just in case. Now my mom has the task of sticking to his specialized diet with out a kitchen! He is sore form the car ride. they have to drive 3 hours to get home and my mom said he is dreading it! They have a Jag and Mini Cooper and they took the Minni since it gets better gas millage, they are both low to the ground but the mini has a sportier ride and he feels every bump!! We may actually drive up with our van to bring him home so he is more comfortable.

Good news is he is doing great!

Mandy that is GREAT NEWS !!!!! Soooo happy he is out of the hospital and is doing better . Three hours is a long time to be in a car after surgery.......but I'm hoping it's not too bad on him and they make it home safe and without too much trouble . Good luck to your mom regarding his specialized diet without a kitchen . But the bright side is your dad will be home soon . Thanks for the update and it's nice to hear everything went well and your dad's doing great .
