Channing That sucks about the airfare...:sad2: Any chance they'll go down again before your trip??? They have such a great policy about changing flights and credits , on other airlines I have paid as much as $100 change fees for changing flights....

Thanks for the Cape May and ice cream info too (made me want to have a sundae...) (DD dosent like sea food either nice to know Cape May has many options..)

Hey everyone!!

Fall is my big time cooking time. I am obsessed with ordering a bunch of cookbooks on Ebay!!! :scared1:

Anyway, Bambi is at the butcher and no I don't eat venisin. I'll cook it once for my DS but I know he's not going to like it, its very gamey. My DH has alot of friends at work that love it, so we'll give it away.

Channing - That story about your dog is hysterical!! Gross but hysterical!!!

Any word from Mandy?

Hello All :wave2:. I'm checking in a little late this Sunday afternoon :rolleyes1. It has actually stopped raining here and looks like the sun is trying to come out :). Chan....hope your basement is ok ;).

BlueSkies ~ We LOVE Cape May Clam Bake AND the character breakfast.....we make sure we do atleast one of each every year....they are both awesome :thumbsup2. And like Chan said.....the dinner has alot of other things on it besides seafood....we're not seafood eaters either and we all find plenty to eat there :). Beaches and Cream is good too ::yes::. I told DH we are going to try the Kitchen Sink one of these trips. We haven't had it in a long time, but the year we stayed at the BC we went to Spoodles atleast 3 or 4 times that week for breakfast and that was very good. The only downside (for us) staying at the BC/YC is there's no quick hot breakfast choices :sad2:. I know they have the Marketplace or whatever it is...but there's no quick serve like Capt. Cooks at the Poly or Gaspies at the GF....it's either sit down at Cape May or Captain's Grill at the YC or venture over to the Boardwalk. But the BC is a very nice resort....you'll have a great time :goodvibes.

Chan ~ OMG....how awful about the dog :scared:!!! But I'm a little crazy as well :rolleyes1. I always said I'd NEVER have a dog on our bed.....well.....2 1/2 years ago we got a yellow lab and "never" went right out the window :rotfl:. We now have a 105 lb lab that sleeps at the foot of our bed every night......and there's NO moving him....once he's there, he ain't movin' until morning :lmao:. And that stinks about the airfare . I've found that the fares with SWA can change for the better but not stay there for too long :sad2:. They may come down again so I would keep checking ;).

Dawn ~ LOL......Our bed sits up high too and our lab won't jump up there either.......I have to put his front paws on the bed and then lift his back paws up there....but he's not spoiled by any means :rotfl:.

Hope everyone is enjoying their day :).

Deb :flower3:

We love the Cape May clam bake. It is a must on every trip.:thumbsup2 I agree, the breakfast buffet there is the best. I think the good food and atmosphere make it for a fun time. :goodvibes

wishes - we love fall for cooking also! I love getting new slow cooker cook books. Today we put on a big pot of stew! Yum:thumbsup2

Has anyone heard from Marj lately? Isn't she from Texas?

Hey all!! Well...DH called me and REALLY wanted me to go check the basement....so while I had him on the phone I did. It's better than yesterday...it was just a huge puddle yesterday and it's less. I am surprised...the pounding rain woke me a few times last night and I was scared of what I'd find. He insists the sump pumps are working or it would be flooded. OK.......

DEb!!
Last March the girls, DH and I ordered the Kitchen Sink...OMG...I have to find the pic of Jojo before and after. It is worth 1000 words. You have to go for it. I think if the girls and I do end up sticking w/the Oct plans we will be doing ti again. That is cute about the dog on the bed. Same here...my newfie girl is 130lbs of fluff and she used to lay right next to me usually and when she did she was as tall as I am - and I am tall - and she loves to be cuddled and spoon up against me...she is such a goof!! :rotfl: :rotfl: But....she blew it.:rotfl2: OH! And my bed is high! I have a 22 inche thick pillow top mattress set...it's way high! She does it. She wants it bad enough she comes up ONLY when it's girls night....DH would still even let her - he said as long as she stays on MY side, haha....but after that little episode she had I don't even want to risk it. I have never been so dog crazy as I am with her. She is sooo smart sometimes we wish our kids were as smart.:rotfl: :rotfl:

I heard from Mandy last night. She is back home, her dad's doing better. Noncancerous cells. Things are looking up. It's gonna be a long road but at least it's not as grim as it was a couple days ago.

Annette
...it doesn't quite feel like fall her yet. Just bleh. I know what you mean though. I love having stuff in the oven and yummy candles and kind of nesting in fall.:) Good luck on the Ebay cookbooks! What do you like to make?

Talk to ya later,
Chan:)

Football, Baseball.......Yuck!!!! My family is boring me to death!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the movie 21, I never saw it yet so I am going to get comfy and make them keep me company!!

Channing - I cook just about everything!!! I DO NOT BAKE!!!! I used to years ago and honestly I am pretty good at it. You just need sooooo much patients and I don't have ANY, anymore!!! Once in awhile I get in the mood and bake a funky cookie.

:yay: The Pats won and the Red Sox won. It doesn't get any better than this.:woohoo: Sorry WishesQueen I couldn't resist.:rolleyes1 I also said I would never let a dog in my bed and I haven't until now. There is just something special about Nala. She comes to bed with me and we watch TV until DS comes and gets her when he goes to bed. I guess it comes from when we first got her and she wanted to be held all of the time. She still thinks she is a lab dog.:rotfl2:

Evening Gals :).

DS has been monopolizing the computer ALL DAY LONG so I finally kicked him off so I could get my Dis fix :rotfl:. The rain started up again (very little, though) then finally quit for good ;). BUT.....we got a call earlier today.......NO SCHOOL TOMORROW DUE TO HEAVY RAINS AND FLOODING :scared1:. I've never heard of such a thing but there are 2 other school systems that cancelled tomorrow as well so I guess we're not the only ones around here...and there may be more that I'm not aware of. But atleast DSs can sleep in and not have to get up early :cloud9:.

Chan ~ I tell my kids all the time (all 3 of them....2 DSs and DH :rotfl:) I wish they listened like Hunter (our soooo loveable lab :)).....since he always does what he's told :rotfl: :rotfl:!!! And with no back talk :lmao:. Hunter will somtimes jump up on our bed for DH....but NEVER for me.....I think he just knows he doesn't have to put forth any extra strain or effort because I baby him soo much and he knows it . Thanks for the push to try the Kitchen Sink......we will DEFINITELY have to get it when we go in July. We love Ghiridelli's (sp?) but that KS looks so awesome that we have to try it ::yes::. I would love to see the picture you have if it's no trouble :rolleyes1. And glad to hear the water in your basement has lessened and you didn't have a huge mess ;).

I'm also glad to hear Mandy's dad is doing better :). I hope his recovery continues and he can make the trip back home soon :flower3:.

Annette ~ I love fall too :). It doesn't seem much like fall to me yet but maybe if I get some decorations out it might feel different . I saw a commercial today that mentioned Thanksgiving being only 11 weeks away ......this year is going to go by soooo fast!!!! Have fun with all your cooking :goodvibes.

Maxie ~ I saw the Pats won ;). But I must say that I'm a Dallas Cowboy fan myself :yay:. They play tomorrow so I know what I'll be doing tomorrow night :cheer2:.

Enjoy the rest of your evening all :flower3:.

Deb :upsidedow

Deb...I am gonna look for the picture. It's funny.:goodvibes

OMG...I KNOW the Thanksgiving 11 weeks away commercial!!! Smythe furniture?!?!?!?!:rotfl2: Or is there ANOTHER one?!?!?!?:rotfl: I saw that last night...they had SNOW falling (fake or computerized) on their store, but it freaked me out!!! I am NOT ready for winter.

OK...off to find the pic while I have a break from two needy daughters.....

Chan:)

Chan .....YES....that furniture commercial....that's the one :rotfl::rotfl:. And the snow falling just freaked me out too....I was like WTH???? I am NOT ready for winter either . The only thing I like about winter is that it gets rid of all the bees :rotfl:. But DH (my biggest CHILD of all :lmao:) and one DS can't wait until it snows so they can go snowmobiling :sad2:!!! Today DS said...."hey dad...just think if all this rain was snow"....and I was like :scared1: :scared1:...don't say that . But I guess boys will be boys .

Deb :flower3:

Deb...yep I have a 18 yr old son. He didn't want to come with us last March. He stayed with friends. The girls and I went out a few days early and then DH met us out there. It was lots of fun but by Good Friday it was JAMMED. I think the girls and I flew out the Tues before Good Friday. Tues to Fri afternoon were wonderful.:goodvibes

The kitchen sink was huge:thumbsup2 ....yummy though...except the coffee icecream...I think that may be another special order - leave out the coffee icecream...nasty stuff.:rotfl:

Chan:)

We are on strike. They met all stinkin' weekend and couldn't come to an agreement. Instead they are sendingout dueling press releases each trying to make the other look bad. I am NOT happy

Good Morning!

I hope everyone is off to a good start. I am up and while my mouth HURTS!!
K I am so sorry about the strike.

Thanks Kel. They have a federal mediator scheduled for Tuesday but they had better be meeting again today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel so bad for those who have dual working parents. I can't even imagine trying to put together last minute child care :sad2: We were warned on Thursday evening it might be coming, but final word didn't come until 5:30 am TODAY!!! Both sides are blaming each other, its ugly and only the children are suffering :sad2:

Morning All :surfweb:. There are LOTS of school closings in our area today due to all the rain and flooding :sad2:. Chan...how's your basement????

Chan.....I'll have to remember about the coffee ice cream.....YUCK!!!!!!. I drink coffee every day but the thought of it being ice cream just doesn't appeal to me at all :rotfl:. We were actually in Orlando over spring break (flew out Thursday...day before Good Friday and came back the following Thursday)....but we rented a vacation home since it was a big family trip :). It wasn't to really do Disney but just a vacation with family so we didn't attempt any parks....figured it would be way too busy :rolleyes1. But we did eat at several resort restaurants which was nice...and shopped at DTD...can't go to Orlando and NOT shop at DTD :rotfl:. I can see my oldest DS not wanting to go to Disney so much with us since he is getting older.....he's actually starting to pull that stuff now....he thinks since he's 15 he's all grown up and can do things on his own :headache:. I know it's inevitable because they DO grow up....but when that time comes it will be sooo hard for me to go without him :sad1:.

Kristin, that really stinks . With so many people losing their jobs with the economy the way it is, those teachers should be thankful they even have a job.......and to be offered a 5% raise on top of that :headache:. I hope it all works out soon and they get back to work.

Have a great Monday everyone :upsidedow.

Deb :)

Good Morning Gals:flower3:

Kristen So sorry to hear about the strike...it just awful especially for kids:sad2:

Kelly Sorry that youre still not feeling better..

Channing That kitchen sink looks awfully good even this early in the morning....We'll have to give that a try next trip...the pic of Jojo is hilarious...

Deb TEENS....:headache: every day is an adventure...

Have a nice day , talk to ya all later:)

I love coffee ice cream. Now at what age do the kids not want to go to Disney with their parents? DS is 22 and he still comes with us. We went last December for the 1st time without him and while it was strange for about 5 minutes, we got used to it real quick.:lmao: We left right before a big snow storm and we had another one before we came home, he spent the weekend plowing the driveway and road. Then he had to plow out his grandmother and aunt. This year he is coming with us.:rotfl2: The only reason he didn't come last December is that he went in October without us. So I didn't feel bad about leaving him home.

Chan-That is a great pic of your family and the KS. I have a stomache just looking at it. Hope your basement stayed dry.

Does anyone know if they do anything special for Christmas for the HDDR? So far we only have Artist Point booked and thinking the HDDR would be fun if they do something Christmassy, is that a word? Has any one done the sleigh ride at FW? I hear that it is better than the one at the WL. We are taking DS's DGF for her first time during Christmas and want to do as much as we can. She will probably be off to grad school next year and it may be a few years before she gets a chance to go again.
