Good morning everyone. I try to keep up with this thread, but don't post much during the week. My brain is fried when I get home from work and I don't want to think any more.

Kristin: Hope the teachers reach an agreement soon. I agree with everyone else. Don't let it interfere with your vacation. It is not just a vacation, it is family time and that is so much more important. They grow up so fast. My DS is 22. Where did the time go? Especially since I didn't get any older.

mickeynut:I have trouble with my multiquote thingy too. It doesn't work all the time. That's why it took me so long to figure it out, I had to try on a day that it was working.

Happy Saturday Morning Gals . WOW....lots of posting going on while I was gone last night.......ya leave for an evening and come back and have so much to catch up on . We had football last night and WE WON....YAY !!!

BlueSKies.....I missed telling you last week...DS doesn't play football....believe it or not, we DON'T HAVE FOOTBALL . Yes, I know.....pretty unbelievable that a hs doesn't have football . I told you we lived in the country . Where we live has built up SO MUCH over the last 10 years (we've been here 7) that before that there was pretty much nothing around and the school was much smaller than it is now . The average class size is only around 150....still very small....but growing every year.....so before now there was never enough kids/big enough school to have a football team ...but they're working on that and hoping to have one in the next couple of years. But my brother's best friend is head coach at a hs and my brother is defensive coordinator so we go to support him . He has such a passion for football (he played all through hs himself) and he has such a flexible job that he can be out of the office pretty much whenever he wants to....so that makes it very easy for him to be at practices during the week and through the summer when they really hit it hard before the season starts . We really enjoy going...although last night was NON STOP RAIN . But we had our infamous Mickey ponchos and dressed for it so it was ok . The way we carry on and cheer at the games, you'd think we had a son on the team .


Kristin....Agreed...no more laundry talk.....although I may forget sometimes so if I do.....just let me have it . Any word on the strike???? I do hope things settle very soon .


Wishes......The new cabanas sound great!!!! Are they supposed to increase for 2009? I am planning on reserving one in July and I thought $60/half day was great.....but I guess I'll just have to pay the increase if it happens for next year because I'm GETTING A CABANA . Although we haven't stayed at the GF yet....I love it already. DH doesn't love WDW as much as me, but he does love going.....but for him to actually PLAN and BOOK a trip.....NO WAY.....that's all my department . But I love it and he knows I love it and he doesn't want to be bothered with any details....which is not too smart on his part because I get carried away sometimes and he's the one who pays the bill (i.e., cabana) .


Chan.....too funny about the wallet....that's something I would do . And I'm sooooo sad to hear about Mandy's dad....he seemed to be doing so well. I hope it's just a mild setback and he'll be back on the road to recovery soon .


Maxie.....Glad you're back . As you can see no multiquotes for me this morning.....it's hit or miss with those dumb things .

Hi, all!! YAY!!! (OK I am ashamed to admit it - but YAY!! Soccer is rained out!!!! ) If it wasn't we would all be drowned rats...there is a river next to my house that shouldn't be there. The rain is just coming down in buckets & it is soccer pic day and we are the snack family, too!!! So we would have HAD to go in the rain unless they called it.

Mandy...I haven't heard more so I am praying your father is doing better this morning. Hang in there. We are all thinking of you.

Maxie! Wow that is so sweet of you. I hope Kelly is feeling better this morning, too....she has been sick since late August! It's really hanging on.

Annette, ugh...I agree with the hunting thing. *boring* My step brother lives in Montana and he hunts & takes his little girls!! And they all enjoy it. Crazy. It's not my thing....but to each their own! What do your guys hunt? DB hunts moose, deer, elk..that kinda thing in MT. That will be great taking a little one with on a WDW trip! I think the next little ones I get to bring will be my grandkids!!!

Deb, we must have posted about the same time!! LOL....I was just reading your post.

I heard before the cabanas would increase around spring break 2009. Ya...that is quite an increase. I don't think we'll do cabanas as often anymore.,...we would just reserve one for anyday we thought we'd have a break/rest. Eek...they sound fabulous but still......makes me think a little more on paying that rate for just a nice tent for a few hrs....except in summer they really are needed.......I was out of the cabana for a bit on the laptop....I could pick up wifi from the lobby over near the popjet play area so I was istting and typing and then suddenly felt really icky. The heat caught up with me fast. I had to run to the cabana, dump the laptop and jump into the cool water.

I am off to the dentist this morning (no prob just check up) and then off to meet my mom at VonMaur....maybe have lunch at Egg Harbor Cafe for all of you IL gals!

We have friends in Houston so I hope they are safe I havent heard from them....

Hey everyone!!

We are having horrible weather!!! Yuck!! I it looks like its going to be around for awhile. My DH and DS just left for hunting, tomorrow starts hunting season (bow hunting)!! Nothing about that sport interests me at all. You sit outside in the woods for hours (starting at 5:00 in morning), weathers its raining or nice. You can't talk, you can't shower and you can't move!!!! Oh BTW and there are no computers!!!

I only got this information from Chris at the Cabanas so its not official, but he really knew his stuff. The cabanas are going to be $110 a half day and I think $220 a full day. I really only remember the half day because thats how we use them.

They are going to have a sectional couch, two padded lounge chairs, a tv suspended from the front corner inside the cabans with a wii, frig, sierrus radio etc.

So, heres a question for everyone, that should help us talk about something interesting!!! We all love WDW and GF right? But, what about your DH or DW? Do they love it as much as you do?

I have to say my DH loves it there, he loves everything about WDW and the GF. The only thing is...he HATES is talking about it a year in advance!! He's all talk a month before, but thats about it. So thank you to everyone who chats with me here, you have helped my marriage !!!!

My hubby was converted by choice.....I threatened to divorce him and marry a gay guy that would be happy to indulge my desire to be AP holders who go every weekend! LOL! JK I hope I dont offend anyone!

Actually once we had kids he got to asking me if we were free to go! LOL, definantly better for him to go with kids and see the joy in their faces!

DAWN!! Hey...I WAS GONNA SAY THAT!!!!! You guys have to let me know when/time/channel "The Office" is on....I am clueless...all I know is I did see it a few times and it was great. Did you see that some lady ....Hardin was a presenter at the GF's fab award?? I thought of you two fans.

Chan..its on Thursday nights at 8pm.....go rent seasons 1 2 and 3 you will laugh your butt off!


Mandy...I watched too! Laughed again at the Plasma TV..and LOVE 30 Rock and cant wait to see Kath and Kim...we need to live closer to be TV buddies!


K~I saw it last night on the news...I was thinking of ya. Not to be this way but dont worry about pulling out DS..he really will be fine! Like Chan said parent time is WAY more important at this age..and its their fault anyways for the d**n strike!

I wish we could be TV buds! I need a bud that likes the same shows I do. My sis is to sofisticated for thoe shows and my BF Rhonda does not get the comedy..... LOL!

That Episode with his plama on the wall cracks me up! When we got our big plasma tv i walked to the tinys ones and said I like this size, it was a tiny one for a kitchen. My DH was like oh ok..... I was like no JK and we went home with a 50 inch LOL! He told me later he was worried! LOL!

BTW: WE LOVE our huge TV! My sister is jelouse and says it is too big for our house...... Whateva!

Chan ~ Yea...our times are right there so we probably did post at the same time ....although who knows if it was even the right time since our times are often off . The price increase on the cabanas do seem kinda steep, but being we've never stayed at the GF I HAVE to try one out....especially since it'll be July and like you said, it will be nice to get out of the blazing heat if we want .


Dawn ~ You're right....today is a great day for staying in.....that's exactly what we've been doing here . My one DS said he heard on tv that a flood watch or warning was in effect for Lake County, IN until 4:30 a.m. MONDAY . We're actually right there just over the Lake/Porter County line. So I think we're in for some more heavy rains . Have fun shopping and having lunch with your mom . Hope your friends in Houston are safe .


Mandy ~ Glad to hear your dad is doing ok . And that's great about no malignancy !!! Hope he continues doing well and gets back home soon .

Deb...it's been POURING all day here!!! We have water in our basement...and of course DH is outa town. I said I don't think the sump pumps are working and he is like...they're fine. SAY WHAT? Obviously they're NOT fine. It's just a bit and not ruining anything where it is, but if it keeps coming down it could be ugly. And it's still coming down. I had a feeling things would be nasty when I saw the river in our yard. And the pool is just about overflowing.......Gonna have to send DS out there to backwash it tomorrow. The funny thing is over Labor Day our grass was like straw. I guess we need the rain.

Cabana talk as I've said before I think they are SOOO nice (and soon to be nicer) but OUCH on the new prices...renting one for a whole day costs more that a night in a moderate resort I think...

Still like you said Channing...half day rental is plenty and they are so nice during those summer months (Deb you'll love em ) Cant wait to see what the refurbed ones will look like...( also hope the basements ok...)

Annette No hunters in our house but big time fishing....then they bring them home for me to clean and cook.....Will they bring some meat home for you to cook??

DH is definitely NOT as big of a disney fan as I am...but he is a good sport and goes along and always has a good time ( I think...)

Hey!!! It's late on Sunday morning.....are you all at church?? Where are you guys? I thought I'd be jumping in late. I had to reply to the "HOw often do they change your sheets" thread. It's getting pissy with some nasty peeps. Soon to be closed for sure. I "love" how people can ask a simple question and it gets turned into a huge debate about how they worded it, what they really need, what they mean etc ......only on the DIS. Some wicked nasty people for sure.

I am scared to even look at my basement....I have to though....I better move a few things off the ground. We have two sump pumps and i haven't heard EITHER of them working. I am SO TICKED at my DH right now. He's out of the state and can't do anything about it, but still....................

I can't believe all this rain. It's awful.

ANyway... you all have a fun Sunday. Maybe the sun is shining where you are!

I've been wondering the same thing. DH and DS are fishing and it is raining here too. I've been doing the thing that shall not be mentioned., and some cleaning, bookkeeping etc. I'll probably go to the mall with DSIL to walk since it is raining. I have been reading the sheet thread too. Some peeps get their undies in a bunch over the littlest things. It's not like the OP wanted to pool hop or reuse a mug. on the basement. Hope it stays dry.

The bed bug thread was right behind it.....WOW...

Thinking about next years trip (split stay ??/GF) and now thinking about dining too...Has anyone ever gone to the Clam Bake at Cape May Cafe...Beaches and Cream looks great (we all love ice cream!) On our last trip we had dinner at the Plaza Restaurant (which we always love...BIG dissapointment...many ice creams now only come sugarless...very limited choices if I'm havin a hot fudge sundae I'm want all the sugar I can get ) any way looking foward to trying some different places...

Any restaurant recomendations if staying at YC/BC...???

I changed the girls' sheets yesterday!!

LOL on the dog thing.....well...I am CRAZY in love with my Tater Tot and I used to let her on the bed. USED TO....one night in the middle of the night actually about 3 am...I was haviing this dream that I was walking on the beach wading in the surf ...then it started raining. Well..I woke up suddenly to find that my big old Tatum had WET MY BED!!!!!!!! She was partly lying on my feet!!!! I AM NOT KIDDING!!! It was the MOST disgusting thing to happen to me in the middle of the night in a long time!! (don't even go there, Dawn! ) She peed thru my comforter, thru my sheet, and blanket, over my feet and then thru my fitted sheet and mattress pad into the mattress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She sleeps like a log and DH and I crack up all the time because her snoring sounds like the tape Ferris Bueller made to fool everybody into thinkng he was up in bed sound asleep.....BIG SNORES and SNORTS.... So...no furry Newf on the bed anymore. She has NEVER EVER had an accident in the house...so that was totally gross and unexpected. (well except the diarrheah she had when I was in Lake Geneva and DH was home watching her and HE ignored her when she HAD TO GO OUT!) She has NEVER done that for me...in 4.5 yrs.

Anyway...now that DH has been out of town, Jojo likes to sleep in my bed and we do let Tatum up...I always kick her off before I fall alseep though.

Hi, Blueskies....we enjoy Cape May!! They have a FABULOUS - and I think the most yummy character bfast buffet of any!! IT is WONDERFUL!!! And we also really like the dinner. I hate seafood, but there are a lot of other delicious options. I love their BBQ ribs and other things. It's great!!!!!

We always like the Plaza too!!! BUMMER about the changes. THat's really been one of our little secret faves because it's light and homey and not like other restaurant food. Ya..Lucy and I always share a banana split there, too!! B&C is good, too. I LOVE their No Way Jose!! Choc/PButter heaven!

BUT...even better is the Giardelli (spelled wrong I"m sure) soda fountain in DTD. It's SCRUMPTIOUS....we tried it for the first time in July and I had their equivalent to the NWJ and it was to die for! WICKEDLY GOOD!!!!

LMAO...... Our 120lb collie is too lazy to jump on our bed cause its too high...but he sure likes DD's bed She gets soooo mad when he is on there!


We also ate at Cape May for dinner once when we stayed at BC...it really was yummy! Go for it!
