dawn

Afternoon all :goodvibes.

Traci ~ Love the Spidey Man :thumbsup2. I can't believe your trip is almost here :cool1: :cool1:. Universal has sparked my interest too ;). We've walked around Hard Rock Hotel in the past and always said it would be neat to stay there. My oldest DS is into guitars and music big time......so I think he'd like HRH....and the pool looks awesome ::yes::. We're thinking of adding 2 nights at the beginning of our July trip and stay at HRH and do US/IOA for 2 days before moving over to the GF for 8 days :wizard:. Our 2 DSs, although they are teens, don't seem that interested in US/IOA :sad2:.....but I think it would neat to experience those parks atleast once :goodvibes.....even though I'm a Disney girl at heart :thumbsup2.

Dawn ~ I hope you're feeling better soon....it stinks to be sick . Good luck on your final test :teacher:.....I know you'll do great :).

Chan ~ I'll go for it being fall/Halloween time....but please don't say it's time for winter stuff :scared1: :scared1:....not yet anyway :rotfl: :rotfl:. It's actually not that bad here today....I'm wearing shorts and a sweatshirt :rolleyes1. I'm sure the temperature will drop as the day goes on, but I'm taking advantage of it while I can .

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend :flower3:.

Talk to ya all later :).

Deb :upsidedow

Hey all...back from another butt kicking soccer game. THEY kicked our kids' butts. As usual. :sad2: We have the nicest girls and the nicest coaches.:thumbsup2

Dawn....I amn sorry you are still feeling icky. At least the sun is shining on you. I heard it's going to rain/storm tomorrow...on our flea market.:guilty: I haven't even brought it up to DH because I figured it's toast. We can try again Nov 2? LOL...it sounds a long ways away but it's around the corner!! AND THEN,....YOUR TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Hope the test went well....I am sure you aced it.

Traci.
...we stayed Portofino. There are balcony rooms but they are scarce and you just get lucky to get one. The check in lady was like "WOW!!" And I said WHAT WOW??? And she told us we had a balcony room. Then she said..."Oh sorry"....LOL..."I was mistaken"....NICE.:rotfl: :rotfl: It was an ok hotel but I like any Disney hotel better.....(almost any;) I have my nemesis over there, too....well actually a couple:rotfl2: ) Your kids are too little for UO IMO. We did Dr. Seussland in an hour. Jo was probably 5 or just 6 when we went and it was fine but there was not a lot she wanted to do. And even Zack at 15/16 was ready for WDW. He appreciates it...or he did then.:rotfl: He'll get it back.:) I do think though the way to do it is staying at their resorts. POB is the farthest from the action though, too. I hear nothing but good about all 3 of their resorts. I was kinda "eh" on the room. We stayed CL but the lounge is actually off the lobby. Our CL room was on the 5th? floor...very not convenient...and it's a HUGE resort. We actually reserved a "deluxe" room and DH had a manager come up becuase it was supposed to be like 650 sq ft and this room was NOT that large NO WAY NO HOW....LOL...we thought we were getting totally taken on that deal. I was not impressed. BUT, as always....YMMV. :upsidedow

Deb.
..Omg...Yeah...I am crazy. Now last night I was thinking...I am not going. I get panic attacks and I am afraid I will get one and just feel awful and alone in WDW with two little kids. I am just a goofball. And the more I think about it the more issues come up in my head.....and then I think about the clothes/bows I bought...and the fun we COULD have...and the Halloween party. I am so wishy washy it's not even funny. I don't mean to be...I am just so neurotic. :rotfl: Are you in shorts???? Wow!! I wore my super warm wool sweater with the Goretex Windstopper lining to soccer w/jeans and a hat!! And brought a jacket I used as a blanket. I am still wearing my sweater now!!! I think I'll be in it all day. Brrrrrr.............. It is pretty out though. The BEES were crazy!!! CRAZY at the field. They were biters and stingers....even if you just sat there peacefully they were all swarmy and nasty. My friend got stung..one went up his pant leg and got him. I haven't noticed bees like that by us....luckily.

OK...off to do stuff in the house. TOmorrow HALLOWEEN and fall decorations come out!:thumbsup2 :cool1:

TTFN!! BTTBC!
Chan

My soccer lovin mom friends tease me that if Avery decides to play she'll be the only girl out there with hair bows that match the uniform and ruffle socks!

No halloween decorations for us this year :sad2:
Cause we'll be at Disney baby!! Did I tell you 20 more days?? That's right. 20. T-W-E-N-T-Y. 20. 20. 20.

**note to self* do not do this every day for the next 20 days.

20.

oops. sorry.

Any good links for the Universal hotels?

Universalorlandodotcom

If you have teens that want to ride the coasters, most of them are 54". DS was so bummed the first year we went - he was only 52". Little oversight on my part there! I was more concerned with WDW!!
They've added a trolley in the sky train in Suess Landing and there are about 5 other rides in SL. My DD went on Cat in the Hat ,literally about 10 times in a row! Theres a rollercoaster thats like Goofys Barnstormer but longer and faster. But like Chan said, we were glad we waited till they were a little older to try UO. I think they were 6 and 8. Not sure how old yours are?

BTW, I hear you have 20 days till your trip!?!

Chan.....you are crazy :rotfl: (JUST KIDDING :goodvibes). Stop thinking so much into this trip and JUST GO :thumbsup2. You and the girls will have a FABULOUS TIME   !!! When it's all said and done you will be so glad you went :wizard: :wizard:. I just took DS#2 to a buddy's house for a party......and it's 60-some degrees....and I AM in shorts :cool2:. Of course I will probably be freezing my butt off later and change into my Mickey fleece pj's....but for now I'm pretending it's still summer :rotfl: :rotfl:. Yuck on the bees :headache:....I run from them all the time :rotfl2: :rotfl2:.

Traci.....Bring back lots of pics for me ;). I told Chan to as well.....I need to see everything I'm in for when we have our first stay at the GF in July :).

Have some :laundy: to do.....so better get scootin'. Have a good one gals :flower3:.

Today would have been the good day for the flea market...It is looking yucky tomorrow anyway. A good day to veg inside with the fireplace on and a good book or old movie. Try and rest! I am gonna PM you the pin info. If I forget, shoot me an email.

Deb.
..LOL...I switched my flight and added a whole nother 24 hrs on!! Now to email the limo company.....I am so embarrassed.

Hi, Princesses!!
Hope you're having a nice weekend.:goodvibes

So...Traci.
...how many days til your trip? I didn't catch it......:rotfl:

OK....I am off to read a trashy book!!:goodvibes

Talk to ya later, taters.

Chan:)

Good evening everyone

Ya' gotta love those GF IPO CMs. A week ago i emailed them to move two dinners during Christmas week. I asked even though i was sure I didnt have a chance of getting the new days and time...especially since one day i called dining myself and there was nothing....but they came through :thumbsup2

I hear the Christmas carriage rides at fort wilderness will only 4 adults or 3 adults and 2 kids.
We are 2 adults and 4 (tiny) kids. I figured in the case of 3 adults and 2 kids that means on one side of the seating area there will be 1 adult with those 2 kids, right? So why can't i fit 1 adult and another 2 kids on the other side to fit six? especially when the youngest will be on our lap..

oh well, I'm keeping the booking for now, maybe i'll sit it out alone or with the baby and walk around the campground. :confused3

CHAN
, what happens on home coming weekend? is it a dance?
Feel better, Dawn

I love these cold nights we are having...love that feeling of fall.

My munchkins are 3 & 4. I think we will hold off on Universal for a couple more years atleast. I appreciate the feedback and opinions regarding that! 20 more days. Oh and Deb I will take some GF pics for ya! That's part of fun of returning from Disney...sharing the trip with those who truly appreciate it!

Good morning everyone!:)

Well I am feeling a little better. I got in some arguments on the budget board about the bail out over the last few days. I have been around but too frustrated to post. I am much better now and realize that we should feel so fortunate to have what we have and maybe the grain markets will get better (well hopefully) For now- I have to buckle my belt a little so no shopping. (other than Ebay) Oh and I did put in the American Girl order yesterday so my Christmas shopping is done.

Oh you guys are going to totally laugh....I got in on a stroller swap.:rotfl:

Dh put me to work in the field yesterday. Harvest is in full swing. It felt good to get out of the house and get some sun! Evie's daughter spent the weekend with me and I took them out to the field and she smashed her fingers on a wagon door. Poor thing...I felt terrible.

I did call Disney to get a ressie for the night we come in late (if we do, if the flight prices drop, if, if , if) Dh says we are not flying in on Christmas Eve so if they do not drop I am just going to have to change and hopefully get a credit for our July trip. I called (and since I am all of a sudden budget minded) booked the Pop for $89.00 for the one night. :scared1: :scared1: I turned to Evie's daughter and asked her how she like the Pop and she says "I HATED IT. OK then...I thought kids loved this place. Lexi then starts to cry and says "We are not staying at the Pop". Can you say our children are spoiled? Lexi wants to spend our first night at Animal Kingdom and they had a stardard room for a little over $200. I am going to call today and change.

Dawn- That stinks that you are sick. Hopefully the test went well.

Channing- Go on your trip. You will have a blast!!!

M&P- I forgot to call about the sleigh ride. I am going to try today but I bet we do not have any luck.

Hi to everyone else!!! Better get in the shower. I am in charge of the Bible Bucks program at church today. Our Sunday School kids earn them each week and we open the store each month. Then it sounds like dh is going to give me a lesson in combine driving. This will be very interesting. I am sure I will get yelled at within the first five minutes.

Have a good day!!

Morning all :)

M&P ~ WTG on the two dinners :thumbsup2. Glad IPO was able to get what you wanted :goodvibes. You're going to have a great time being there over Christmas.......I just love Disney during the holidays :santa:.

Vanessa ~ Good luck on airfare coming down....I'll keep my fingers crossed :wizard:. Good for you for booking that extra night....it will be so worth it to wake up that next morning already there rather than that being a travel day :goodvibes.

Chan ~ YAY on another 24 hours at Disney :cool1: :cool1:. Time sure is ticking away for you....you'll be on that plane in no time :).

Traci ~ Since we've never been to Universal I don't know too much about it, but maybe you do have the right idea to wait until your little ones are older :rolleyes1. Mine are 15 and 13 and they're not really interested, but I think we'll go just to try it atleast once ;). I'll be looking forward to your pics...can't wait to hear about your trip when you return :goodvibes. It's getting so close :yay:.

Dawn ~ Hope you're feeling better!!!

Have a great day all :flower3:.

Deb :)

Morning all.....

Just up to get some meds, tea with honey, and check my email..then its back to bed. I feel like I have been hit by a semi-truck:scared: DH does the grocery shopping so I gave him my list...I think I will dig out a juicy book I havent read in awhile and then Im going to watch Arrested Development on DVD...it always makes me feel better. Or does anyone remember the movie Four Seasons with Alan Alda, and Carol Burnett?? I love that one too when I'm sick. Thanks for the well wishes!

Chan...we had homecoming here too...only DS 14 went and with a bunch of guys..i guess its the new thing....meet up with the gals at the dance.:confused3 Times a changin I guess...There was even an article in the Tribune about the same thing...who knew! Anyway I guess the gym was overcrowded and DH was over there cause he was on shift.....The cops and fire were MAD! Over the firecode, kids passing out, etc...2 firetrucks, 3 ambulances, loads of cops....the HS has over 4000 kids...no way the gym could hold that many:scared1:

Vanessa...I feel for you guys in the farming communities...hang on hopefully it gets better. This economy SUCKS! Stroller Swap????? OMG Im LMAO!!! If you go for the fridgeswap then we may have to do an intervention!:rotfl2:

GO WHITE SOX.....another year of disappointment for the lovable losers CUBS...they just cant get it done...

ttfn, ttyl, ymmv, lmao
dawn:)

Hey Dawn- They have got fridge swaps, microwave swaps, photopass swaps. You name it they got it. :thumbsup2 I laughed too when I did it because if it ends up being a PITA (new one) dh will be all crabby and say we should have just paid $40.00 a day and rented one. I am not the spendy one in this house...he is totally worse.

By the way Mandy- Lexi was doing her hair for church this morning and told me she wanted to be home schooled. I asked her why and she said so she did not have to do any homework. :rotfl:

Have a nice day ladies!

Dawn, feel better :) I remember Four Seasons...Alan Alda has always reminded me of my dad. Do you remember 'Foul Play' with Goldie Hawn?? It has lots of Barry Manilow music in the movie. I *secretly* like that one too. okay not like, I love it. And I love Barry. I can't help myself. Him and Neil Diamond.

I just wanted you all to know I'm not going to carry on about having 20 more days in my posts........because I've only got 19  That's right little dancing banana man! Show momma your pimped out 19 more days dance moves!!

Hi Gals and Mr M:flower3:

Popping in to say HI...Things have been kind of crazy here no time for the Dis:sad2:

Wow Channing and Traci Your trips are almost here...:thumbsup2

Dawn So sorry that you had to take your certification test being so sick...(4 hrs...like taking the SATs!!) Hope that your feeling better...and that you did well on your test:)BTW I love the Four Seasons too...a nice movie:)

Vanessa Good luck with the driving lesson!!

Christmas carriage rides at FW sound wonderful...Christmas at the world how nice (any time actually;) )

Have to be in Florida for work at the beginning of December thought I'd get over to Disney for a few days to enjoy the holiday decor...there is NOT one room available at the GF for 2 nights (not regular or CL) the CR either :headache: the beginning of December used to be one of the quieter times to go in years past...I wonder if there is some sort of event going on... Oh well I'll just keep trying I guess...

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday!!:)

Good Morning Everyone:)

Dawn - hope you feel better - Arrested Development should help! I love that show and can't believe they took it off!! I saw a Thanksgiving thread on here and thought of you!

Vanessa - Hang in there! I think most people are feeling the pinch. I've started clipping coupons which I haven't done for years( I always forget I have them which ones, etc.) Every little bit helps! I bet your girls will love AKL and seeing the animals! Too funny about POP!

Traci- I love Barry Manilow! I had all of his albums when I was a preteen! Neil Diamond is right up there too- loved seeing him on AI last season!

Good Sunday, everyone!

M&P- I forgot to call about the sleigh ride. I am going to try today but I bet we do not have any luck.

Dont know if this helps but i was told there was a 6pm slot open on sat (the 27th?)

Morning all :)

M&P ~ WTG on the two dinners :thumbsup2. Glad IPO was able to get what you wanted :goodvibes. You're going to have a great time being there over Christmas.......I just love Disney during the holidays :santa:.

I so look forwarded to being enveloped in the Disney Christmas season :santa:

Morning all.....

Hope you feel a bit better today.
Speaking of Grocery shopping...can i boast a little?

Went food shopping this morning, got 13 boxes of cereal, 30 yogurts, diapers, 4 cleaning supplies, 5 bags of chips, snacks, potatoes, 10 individual betty crocker desserts, paper towel, 8 boxes of gummie snacks, 8 boxes of frozen vegetables, 16 campbells cup of soups and more. All brand name stuff, no store brands.

Total retail price of $262.97 with sale prices and coupons i paid $72.57 !!! a savings of 72%

Isnt it funny how we spend hundreds of dollars for one night ar Disney and in other areas we can be a bit...um..cheap?

From what someone said here (or there) many people decorate thier campers and tent sites and cabins and it looks very nice.
Crazy how no rooms are available..hope something pops up for you.
