Evie- Dawn makes some very good points. You guys do have a Pom team which we do not (way too small) so the dance will probably be good for her. If you would just move we could probably make a good volleyball player out of her!

On the other hand...she is starting a gymnastics class along with the tumbling so this will help in the grace part. Maybe you have her continue dance until after our first meet and see how she does. She has made HUGE strides in the last few weeks just practicing the 4 hours. Your a good mom...I know you will make the right choice.:wizard:

good evening cheeseballs

Its been quite a day around here. Shawn had football tonight so it was nuts.
Now i am off to watch the news.

Wishes.....I know exactly what you mean....my DH is the same way...."I don't care...whatever you want is fine"......NO....GIVE ME AN OPINION OR SUGGESTION :headache:. On one hand it is nice....but sometimes I really want his input .

BlueSkies......the package deal IS for this year ;). I saw a thread on it earlier today and thought there's NO WAY Disney is going to combine free dining with a discount....but sure enough.....you get the regular DDP for free along with a 20% room discount....that can't be beat....usually it is just one or the other.....but never both :sad2:. The dates for December are 12/14-12/20.....but what I don't know is if you check in on or right before the 20th does the free dining and room discount carry through.....I know for the free dining promo in Aug/Sept it does but not sure about this one :confused3. If that's the case then checking in that Thursday before and staying through the weekend would only have the boys miss 2 days of school....which is very doable. I guess I have some major thinking to do . Thanks for your suggestion :flower3:. Me and DH pretty much agree on most things too.......except tv :happytv:......he is a CONSTANT channel changer and it drives me nuts :rotfl:. I think you were saying the same thing the other day.....watch a show for goodness sakes...it won't kill ya :lmao:.

Vanessa......I was thinking that same thing......although this is my first one in hs so I'm not sure how that week would pan out compared to middle school :confused3. Plus the semester doesn't end until mid January so there shouldn't be any major tests/exams that week. It is a great deal....too good to pass up :rolleyes1. It's just killing me because we finally decided we weren't going to try and go this December and we would go next July and then plan to go December 2009......then Disney does this :headache:. I may call tomorrow and get some quotes and go from there . I told DH I was just going to book it and see what happens.....and he said I might as well...gosh I wish he'd quit agreeing with me so much :rotfl2:. When it comes to Disney I don't have to be told twice :rotfl:. And DH can pretty much take vacations when he wants to.....so that's not an issue at all....it's taking the boys out of school and doing it right before Christmas :scared1:. As far as where to stay.....we are thinking the WL. If we do go, I kind of want to make it an inexpensive trip....if there IS such a thing with Disney :rotfl: :rotfl:. And the WL will do just that......especially since we're staying at the GF next summer . Then maybe if we do go back with friends in December 2009 we can do the GF then :). Thanks for your input.....I'm going crazy thinking about it . You and BlueSkies have given me some things to think about ;).

Hope everyone has a good night.....I'll catch you all tomorrow as I'm pooped and heading to bed :faint:.

Deb :rolleyes1

deb: I feel your pin with the constant channel changing! df does this all of the time and it makes me crazy! we always miss right after the commercials. what really confuses me is when he changes to another channel for a minute or two and watches commercials on it?!? like they are any different!

Good early morning ladies!!!
Thank you for the advice (keep it coming:goodvibes ) so far. You all are making good points and I was sure some of you had been in this situation before. Jaiden was more calm last night, and I told her that I paid for Sept and she needs to finish that out, and if she still feels this way then we will both go talk to her dance instructor and explain that we are going to take a break. She is not excited about that, but that is part of life.
Dawn I totally agree with you and that is why I felt so torn because I felt she is more the dance team kind of girl, but I have to remind myself she is only in third grade and started dancing when she was almost 3. In reality, She has plenty of time to pick it back up.
DH had a really bad day yesterday at work and told me he wanted to quit. :confused3 Well, that really does not work when He runs it. So, I decided He needed to get his mind off of it, and I told him about this whole situation. He was actually more supportive than I thought. He actually agreed with me that gymnastics could give her a good base for her future in VB or just her confidence and strength. This is the first time we have seen the girl sweat.:rotfl: He just doesn't want us gone 3 nights a week, and I told him We will make it work, just like we have with Connor.
I had kids knowing this would be part of it.

Back to Disney, Deb Go for the trip, the Visa promotion is great. I am hoping the one bad thing about this economy is that we see more deals like that. I wish we could use that also. We are going to Great Wolf Lodge in the Dellls when kids get out of school until X-mas Eve. It is kind of a tradition we have had with my DH's family. This year, my DH decided to give his guys this as their Christmas gift for 2 nights also, so it should be fun. My son thinks is the best place next to Disney. Then we go back to Disney for MLK week (son's 10th B-day), so I don't think there will be any presents this year. 2 trips is more than any gift they could get.:rotfl:
What is everyone else up to for Christmas time??

Well, one more night to get through and then I have a 3 day weekend Yea!! We are pretty busy, but that is ok. I am filling in at work while a co-worker is out and it is wearing me out

Whatever happend to Brooke???? :confused3

All of you Office girls, I have never seen, it sounds like I am missing out. When is it on, I may have to set my DVR. I did see Biggest Loser the other night and I cried. That show always gets me....

Everyone have a great day. I will be off to sleep soon:cloud9:
Evie

Good Morning Gals:flower3:

Evie Difficult decisions...but I think you're right she can always go back to dance......sometimes its a good experience to do new things (I'd have to think twice too though it is a big time commitment) :confused3

Deb Book the trip...can I come too??? (I'm usually so harried right before Christmas I think I'll need the break :rotfl: )

Kristin Hope school is on for DS???

Kelly Dont watch the news...:scared1: it will only give you a headache:headache:

We always enjoy Christmas at home...big family lots of gatherings :grouphug:

Off to get some stuff done arond here...

Talk to ya later:)

Howdy cheeseballs
I have to watch the news its what I do, LOL

Shawns football coach is annoying me today. He wants to do an extra practice FRiday and another one next monday. Its flag football. The team they put Shawn on is an expansion team so all the kids on it have never played before so this means they are getting killed in every game by kids who have together for years. But I need more than 1 days notice to work in extra practices.
ugh okay enough whining from me.

This visa disney code is making me mad. I mean that code is still going on til sept 24th for the general public. I have called this morning and the availability is VERY limited.

/
Mornin!

GRRRR...I can not catch a break with my trip in Nov...airfare WAY high, no discounts on rooms, no pin codes, no vacation pkgs.........:headache:

Morning Gals :). Another beautiful day here in NW Indiana :goodvibes.

irisbud ~ Channel changing must be a man thing :rotfl:. I go through the SAME thing.......and you're right.....they end up watching commercials on the other channels they go to......not very productive :lmao:. I usually get disgusted within about 5 minutes and head to another tv in the house and watch.....I just can't take it when DH does that :headache:.

Evie ~ It IS a GREAT deal...isn't it??? I haven't called to see what's available yet.....so I may get surprised and not find any availability for where we want to stay (WL)....and I really don't want to go THAT bad to just pick anywhere....so I may be worrying for nothing . And I hear you about the Christmas thing with trips and presents :sad2:. My oldest DS is into guitars and music big time....he's already got 2 electric guitars and 2 amps and wants another 2 or 3 guitars and a BIGGER amp :scared1:. And that stuff is not cheap ......so throwing in a Disney trip can really hurt the bank account :rotfl:. (not that he'd get 2 or 3 guitars for Christmas....but 1 is a big enough expense along with another few things like XBox games and stuff :confused3). So we'll see ;). Good luck with the decision with your daughter and dance :flower3:.

BlueSkies ~ Sure....come along.....we're have a great time :rotfl:. Have you ever been at Christmas....I can't remember if you ever said???? We went in December 2003 and I LOVED it!!!! All the decorations are gorgeous and it's so festive....it makes for a totally different trip compared to other times of the year :santa:. We always said we'd stay at the WL when we took our next December trip....but now that I've learned so much about the GF and we're staying there in July, I really want to stay at the GF around Christmas time. So I told DH if we end up not going this December (staying at WL to save a little $$$)...then we will plan on the GF next December and splurge....sounds fair...doesn't it :rotfl: :rotfl:. Two trips to the Grand within 6 months....I can go for that :rolleyes1. I think as soon as I get off here I'm going to call Disney and see what's available for our dates . And you're not the only one.......I'm CRAZY right before Christmas.....sooo much to do and so many things to bake :crazy2:

Well......I'm off to call Disney :rolleyes1.

Deb :flower3:

I feel your pain Dawn! I am not getting any breaks either. That is the price we pay to travel over the holidays. It stinks!!

Deb: Good luck!

Evie: I think that finishing out the month then talking to the instructor is a good thought. Does your daughter still want to do dance or not? As a horseback riding instructor, I say if they truly no longer want to do it, please don't make them (for a lot of reasons). If she still wants to do it but dosen't realize it then making her stick with it might be the best thing...alright, that was supremely unhelpful!

Morning ladies and Marvel! :goodvibes

We are having a friend over to day so I am taking a break from trying to get my chores done early to pop in and say HI!

We are looking at putting DS in school and I am kinda excited but yet not looking forward to not having a home school lifestyle! DD is doing great so she is still gonna HS (she is only prek but learning K stuff when she sits and wants to do HS with him) but for DS it is over! I am ok with that, we never decided to do this forever but I was hoping we could. :confused3

OK, talk about DH not making decisions, we are going on a date Friday night and DH ask's me last night where I want to go! I thought ok, now is my chance to turn the tables on him. Our conversation:
ME:I don't care I am just happy to go out with you!
DH: C'mon tell me where you want to go.
Me: NO, I want you to decide. It is your night out and i want you to be happy with where we eat too! You know I can eat any where.
DH: Please don't make me decide! I HATE having to always make the decisions!
ME: You always make decisions? NO you don't. When is the last time you decided something? Seriously, I am always asking you to help me make decisions and you shrug and mumble "IDK" like it is a natural reflex when asked to make a decision.
DH: I make very important decisions every day at work. Why should I have to come home and always make them here?
ME: Fine lets not fight, how about Carabba's?
DH: That's fine. I was thinking of Outback but we can go wherever you want!
ME: Lets go to outback, i like that chopped salad.
DH: See I do make decisions sometimes.
ME: Wait, no you......never mind! :headache:

He is such a knuckle head, but I love him!

TTYL!

Morning all. :) OK I am going to HOUND SWA. I am paying close to $300 each for DDs and myself and I am not thrilled with that either. I know it's better than what you holiday trippers have, but I am used to max $200 thru SWA. I am mad I didn't jump on that date switch and get my $300 credit...it has not gone back down. HOW DID THEY KNOW I WANTED TO REBOOK?!?!?!?!?!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

DEb...it's hard to say what you should do. Does your hs ds have a lot of homework? Usually that holiday time is a lot of free/fun time in our schools. I have taken DS out for Thanksgiving weeks several times. He doesn't have it off...only Thurs/Fr. AND we've flown home on Mondays after so he missed 4 days. It's been fine. He is not a good student. Has ADD and is a disorganized mess...He's a smart kid but not a good student by any means. Sometimes those kids need the breaks most though.:rotfl: (and parents of those kids!)

Amy,
LOL...you got my little joke over there. :thumbsup2 I thought I'd catch some handslapping for it. :rotfl2:

WTG to Heatherlynn, huh? Now everybody and their sister's brother's cousin will be asking for an upgrade.:rotfl2: IT totally goes against the DIS laws of DO NOT ASK!:rotfl:

OK...I have to get ready to go to the dentist.

Have a good day, guys!

Chan:)

Well....I just got off the phone with Disney but I did not book anything :sad2:. There was availability at the WL but only the higher priced rooms :headache:.....and if we did go, I was wanting to go as cheap as possible for a (kind of) last minute trip :rolleyes1. AND......the CM I talked to said it's only free dining....NOT a room discount :sad2:. So although free dining IS a decent deal.....the room discount made it more to think about . I guess I worried for nothing . I also asked him if this deal was going to be offered to the general public and he said he didn't know.....that they haven't been given that info yet. He went on to say that availability is going fast :scared1:. I checked online before I called and every room category was available for the dates we wanted but for this offer there weren't any standard, woods, or woods bunk....only courtyard and up :sad2:. Another thing I was wondering about was the free dining and if it carried through if you checked in toward the 20th and he said yes......if you check in by 12/20, the free dining DOES continue through your stay :wizard:. Well.....I guess I'll come back to reality and look on to July and the GF :rotfl: :rotfl:. Thanks everyone for all your input and suggestions :).

Now I'm off to the library......DS has to have 15 potential resources :scared1: to turn in tomorrow for his Biology project.....and we have NONE :scared1: !!!! I keep telling my boys that I have already been through the 8th and 9th grade.......and I don't like repeating them :lmao: :lmao:...but I'm the one who is always worrying about their homework instead of them....something is wrong with this picture :rotfl: :rotfl: So....I will catch you all later this afternoon . Have a good day all :flower3:.

Deb :upsidedow

Deb~On Mousesavers( which is very reliable IMO:) ) it says that the Disney Visa discount is for free dining AND room discount (which they also noted is unusual) I would call back and speak to another CM...I always say if its meant to be it'll all fall into place....:goodvibes Have fun at the library....

Vanessa only seen the dates listed till 20th:sad2: (sometimes though if you check in during a special it will carry over for some extra time :confused3 )its worth checking into...

Channing good luck w/SWA...hope the fares go down for everyone:)

Dont know why I bother checking for dicounts :confused3 no more trips to WDW this year for me....

I'll just enjoy hearing about everyone elses:thumbsup2

Deb- CALL BACK!

My awesome TA just called. I changed to a GV room at the GF for five nights with dining and 1 day ticket (I had to get the one day ticket.) Full price would have been $4211.54. With the discount it was $3236.74. That is around $1000 saved!! WOOHOO!!

Now I guess I should not have griped about no discounts. That is pretty darn good for the holidays!!:santa:

If I do not get a good rate on SW I actually have to come in a day later and then my cost to stay at the GF over Xmas would be around $2500.00. I am totally excited about all of this.  :dance3:

Vanessa Congratulations...I know you have been trying to work this out for a while:cool1: What a nice savings...especially at holiday time...you do have an awsome TA:)

Noticed that the sheet thread is still going on!....popcorn:: and now there is a how clean are the pools (I dont want to know...):rotfl:

http://allears.net/acc/faq_baylaketower.htm

I hate the video for Bay Lake Towers, but here are some photos!! I am sorry if someone loves the decorating in this place. But I have to say I am shocked its horrible IMO!! Is this really the best they could come up with!! Its so Brady Bunch!! CR redid all there room so beautiful (my cuz stays there and we usually go by for a visit), why didn't they use that interia decorator?

Hey Vanessa - Great Job!!!:thumbsup2
