We were very tempted to get a package deal for our first WDW holiday in August 2005 but we decided to DIY which would give us the possibility of another trip using our annual passes.

I have been tracking flight prices for weeks and was happily looking at around £1500 for all four of us (indirect) then July arrived and the prices for flights have rocketed ... and I suspect they will only climb higher into August (but I can't get prices for flights for August yet). I am quite prepared to pay upto £2500 for direct flights but I'm becoming concerned as Virgin as showing no availability on flights at all around the beginning of August. Do they let all the seats go in packages or do they hold some back for flights only?

I hope someone can offer some advice or reassurance as my husband is threatening to march me off to the travel agents first thing to book a package

One way to book a flight earlier than the 11 month window is to book a fly-drive. We have booked a Virgin fly-drive for next December.

Just checked on the Virgin Holiday site and a fly-drive for next August (10th) for 2 adults and 2 children comes out at £2581

Hi there,

The best I have got so far is £2261 for direct with BA through Bon Voyage. This is 2 adults and 2 children departing August 13th 2005 for 15 nights.

This is not an absolute guaranteed price yet though as airlines don't release their seats till 11 months prior, as you say.

I'm off to check Virign again now as the deal Tim is quoting was over £2800 a couple of weeks ago - fingers crossed the price has come down!

Cheers

Karen

That sounds good, I suspect more ofr me though as we'd be flying from Manchester

It's more pennies though :) and if I am at the Disneyland, I want to be Castle Club! (So greedy!) I have to say I do love the style of the New York anyway so I am still undecided!
