Having a double stroller on the bus... HELP?

I know what you mean about worrying about what people think but just for a for a split second then I say "what the heck, we are at disney world for goodness sake"

Please try not to worry about it. I just try to be efficient as possible, make sure its broken down while we are still in line if possible. and store it under the seats if you can.

What is much more important than what rude people think is how will your children be most comfortable? If they love their stroller than by all means Bring it! :thumbsup2

I don't think people are rude for wanting the families with strollers not to take up all the space on the bus with their stroller or to have to stand in line waiting for the family with the stroller to unload, fold and board the bus. You can use the stroller that works the best for your family as long as you consider the rest of the visitors as well.

I think anyone that would huff and puff, make comments under their breath and give families the evil eye about the time it takes to break down a stroller are definitely being rude. I said I try to have the stoller under the seat if it could fit but if not, unless they have busses with storage underneath..not sure what else you can do? Its public transportation and we are the public. :confused3 I can guarentee no one would try to load up your rental car with strollers so thats an option if the strollers bother someone ;) :goodvibes

Sorry but thats my opinion, I've been to disney pre kids as well. I consider familys with babies & Stollers, elderly, handicapped or anyone else that needs an extra hand should be offered one.... or extra time for that matter.

If your children will be more comfortable their own stroller than bring that one. Our last trip we had a double stroller and while it was a bit harder to fit in a tightly packed bus than the single stroller it really wasn't that bad. I do agree with the poster that said not to put the stroller in it's own seat. I have seen that done several times and that is just so beyond rude I don't even know what to call that. As for juggling sleeping kids and a stroller, sleeping kids get very heavy on that walk out of the park and all the way to the busline. We had a cheap stroller taken on one of our trips, so we rented the last 3 days and boy that walk all the way to the bus stop from the park was sooooo long when you were carrying a sleeping child. Just something to think about if you decide to rent a stroller.

So you're saying that in addition to worrying about my Dh, myself, and my 2 Ds, I need to worry about what 50,000 other visitors think of my stroller on the bus? Yeah ok.

For the OP, what we did on our last trip when our boys were 4 and 5 was we rented a double stroller from abbf. Yes, it was a PITA for dh who had to fold it up all the time and stand on the bus with it, but it was a total lifesaver for us. My youngest fell asleep in it on our last full day while we were on the way to Chef Mickey's. He slept through the whole ride on the monorail as well as the wait to get into the restaurant. The kids wouldn't have made it more than 1 hour in any of the parks without the stroller. On our next trip we will just rent from the parks since the kids will be older. Dh is very happy about that :) . Anyway, please don't worry about what others on the bus think of your stroller. I have to say that everyone we encountered on the buses was very nice and helpful.

Okay, yeah, I think stroller people are rude when they take up a seat with their stroller and people have to stand. And, yeah, I think stroller people are rude when they wait until it's time for them to get on the bus before they start to unload and fold up the stroller. :rolleyes1

I agree that your stroller does not get a seat and you should always be ready for the bus. When we went in May for our son's free before three trip we had a single stroller that was kinda big but when we saw the bus pull in we pulled our son out, rolled to the steps dropped it down and grabbed the front. We had a system and never missed a beat. Oh and everything was out of the stroller long before we even got in line. On the bus I always tried to store the stroller either by the back door or the open space where the seats go up for ECV's. I still don't know which stroller we are taking but I still have time.

I just wanted to clarify that unless there is a wheelchair or ECV in that space, the seats are down. So there isn't an open space there. The space underneath those seats is empty when the seats are down, but it may not be easy to get a stroller underneath the seats. Also, if you are at a resort with several bus stops and someone with a wheelchair or ECV gets on at another stop, you will be asked to move.
