Having a Dog While on CP

So I know dogs are not allowed in Disney Housing, but I was thinking of finding an apartment and moving down there with my dog. I am getting my second degree currently, and will be graduating in August. I saw this degree as an opportunity to get to do the CP, something I missed out on while getting my bachelor's degree (I studied abroad in Italy and then in London instead). I want to move down to Florida regardless of doing the CP or not, but I thought it would be a great experience and I could network while I am down there before "officially" moving down. For the CPers who have done the program before, do you think it would be too much work to take care of your dog as well as working and getting everything possible out of the program?? I do not know if it is fair to her or to me to bring her with me. My parents have said they would take care of her for as long as necessary, but she and I are very attached and I don't know if I could be away from her for that long. They also said they would bring her down to visit whenever possible, but I do not know if bringing her and her seeing me and then leaving is best for her either. I could really use some advice guys. I know it seems silly, but this is really the only Con on my Pro/Con list for doing the program (I know I'm nerdy :cool1:), but it is a really really big Con for me!!
Thanks so much for any advice and help. :confused3

I am sorry that I can't help you but I wanted to give you a "free bump" and let you know I totally understand your dilemma. I am so attached to my dogs that it is hard for me to be away from them a week and that is with my mom caring for them!

How far will you be from you dog if it stays with your parents? How often could they visit you?

Thanks for the free bumb :yay:

My parents and I live in Jersey so it would be a few hours on a plane or a 17 hour drive (I know that sounds like a long time, but every year we drive down to Disney for our family vacation-sans dogs). They would try and visit every month, in an ideal world. I would definitely see them for my birthday (my mom and I share the same day in November), Thanksgiving and Christmas. They would probably visit once in October as well.

I am glad to kknow I am not alone in feeling so close to their dogs!!
