Having a blizzard

We had that Friday night/Sat am. Ours started with rain so we have a lot of ice under the snow. We also got 50mph winds after the snow stopped. I couldn't see across the street and we live in a older neighborhood with lots of trees. It was REALLY bad on the highways (lots of flat farmland around us). Fortunatly we didn't get the amount of snow you are getting out east, but in MN we are more prepared for stuff like that. Good luck getting dug out! I remember in '96 when NJ got hit so hard, some friends were stuck in their house for almost 2 weeks. YIKES! THe longest we have ever had to wait for snowplows was a day.

I feel sorry for you all in the blizzard. We had four snow days in a row right after winter break and I almost went mad by Friday!!! Parts of Iowa had 10 inches, but we missed this storm. Thank Goodness!! Stay warm.

We're in RI too. Governor just declared State of Emergency and has closed all state/town offices and schools for tomorrow. Leaving Sunday and can't wait!!!! :cool1:

ahh yes... shovelling away while staying warm with thoughts of Disney and a Pats victory tonight. Go Pats!!

Here in central Ma we got about 20". DH just finished plowing our drive and the sun just peaked out. I really feel bad for the folks in SE MA and CT, they got more than 2'!! :earseek: You guys will beat out the Blizzard of '78.
To keep our minds on WDW we played the Magic Kingdom Game and looked through our scrapbooks of our last trip. My son is also playing Kingdom Hearts. I, of course, keepin touch on the DIS and am looking for discounts. :cool1: Maybe I'll call in some PSs. Oh, boy, April is looking so good.
We are seriously thinking of moving south. :wizard:

Blizzard here in Maine, too. Blizzard warning goes until 6 pm tonight. The only saving grace is that the snow is fluffy, but it's blowing and drifting. But the temperature is only 6 degrees out. We went out to dinner last night (snow had only been coming down for an hr. or so and we have 4 wheel drive). We got in the truck and I said "M I C..." My DH said "See ya tomororw." Don't I WISH!!!!! Sitting here, watching it snow, and wishing I was eating a Mickey Bar on a bench in front of the castle.......

we've got about 2 ft or more, but dont think we will touch blizzard of 78, in 78, we got over 3 feet of snow. :umbrella:

We've got about 15-18 inches here in central New Jersey. A little more than a month till we're at Disney!!!

I'm watching the Boston channel on TV and some Mass. schools have already cancelled school for tomorrow.

snow finally stopped here in eastern long island but i cant open my front door! guess huibby will have to go out the windo and dig us out LOL! :smooth:

I just got the call for no school in the district I teach in and the local mall is closed for the day.

DOna :earboy2: :jumping2: :jumping2:

:earseek: Here in good olde cape cod mass we have 30+ inches of snow and drifts to 7 feet at the front of my workshop..went and shoveled a couple of hours ago and I can't see where i shoveled..The weather says it will stop. Hopefully soon.. Supposed to go and watch the Pats at a friends house and may not be able to get there......

The snow has tapered off, but the wind is howling!
The snowblower is the best money we ever spent - other than DVC, of course!
Hope everyone is ok.

My DH is going to have to go out our window to shovel as well!! No joke!! The snow is at least 3.5 feet high at both our doors....we can't even open the doors :earseek: 4 more days 'till we go visit the mouse :Pinkbounc

Snow finally stopped here, we got about 3 ft or more(the news just said 36+) kinda hard to measure with the wind/drifts, but the lowest places of snow are atleast 3 ft, the tallest.... probably 8+ ft. :earseek:

Do you think that today's snow is more than '78? I also thought that we got like four feet in '78. But I was a kid then, maybe I'm not remembering correctly. Anyway, the news on Channel 5 said this blizzard would be more for you guys out near Boston than in '78.
Hope you get shoveled out OK. Enjoy the no school day.
