Are purses considered your "Carry on"? I remember at one time they weren't and you were allowed a bigger carry on bag + your purse. The nebulizer we are bringing for my son has a small bag to carry it in(it is a portable nebulizer)..Is that considered a carry on? I could shove it in a carry on bag, but am afraid it will take up a lot of room. \

We are flying Southwest..and I would never have known to check in 24 hours in advance until I read this board..so thanks!! Do people get ready and check in right at the 24 hour mark...LOL I imagine me at the computer like when I was trying to get ressies...lol come on a- 17!

Southwest allows each passenger to bring on one carry-on bag that fits their size guidelines plus one personal item, such as a purse, briefcase, laptop or small backpack. Sounds like you will be fine.

To answer your checking in @ 24 hours, the answer is YES. I think many people set alarms or do whatever they need to do to hit that 24 hour mark (I fall into that category with mulitple layered cell phone alarms). That said, I've been in the B section with a party of 6, and we had NO trouble getting seats together - so if you miss that window, don't worry about being split up.

ok...Thanks so much...I know there was a thread on here but I couldn't find it..We are leaving in NOvember...Do you book tickets right away? I want to make sure I get this right:

If we use DME..My ta said to send her my flight info and she would make the res for me...I know southwest doesn't participate on the way back is it? Getting there I put my tags on and call it a day? Check in the ME area when I land and off they(luggage) goes...

When we are leaving Orlando..I saw you can do DME back..but you have to check your bags 3 hours ahead of time? This is where I get confused if Southwest participates or not..I think I will just check my own bags on the way back..We might even rent a car for two days at the end and then maybe I can return it to the Airport?

Right now SW has a trial at Pop century. If you are staying at Pop you check your bags and they will take them to the airport and put them on the plane for you. For all other resorts you just get on your assigned bus and take your bags with you. The bus driver will put your bags in the storage area under the bus. Once you get to the airport you can check your bags. I hope that helps.
