All of the kids here start back tomorrow, both public and private! Looks like things are getting back to normal here in my neighborhood. Most everyone has taken down their decoration's!

Both my kids go back tomorrow . . .as well as me back to work . . <sigh> It never ceases to amaze me how quickly my vacation time goes . . .

Mine don't go back until Wednesday. I haven't seen much of them the last few days though. I guess this is what happens when they hit their teens.

DS went back today (Monday), but I didn't have to work today! I don't know why he went back so early. He's in public school, but none of the other public or private schools in our area go back until tomorrow??

DD returned to school today, public school. I noticed on my way to work that the one Catholic school and a neighboring public school were not open (no crossing guard at his usual post).

My DD's go back tomorrow. I actually thought that today was considered the "legal holiday" because January 1 fell on a Sunday. There is no mail today, banks are closed & I think all other government offices are closed as well.

I almost reopened my dance studio today until I realized the schools, etc. were still closed. Studio reopens tomorrow.

My kids went back today. They werent supposed to go back until tomorrow but the school board changed that because of the time off during Hurricane Wilma. Dh and I had the day off though.

My kids start back tomorrow, except for my college DD who goes back the very end of January. Long break for her.

I'm almost dreading my kids going back to school because our hours are really messed up since we've been staying up very late and sleeping in. This morning my DH and I didn't wake up until almost 10am, except for the times our 6yo woke us to to ask questions (our answer was always "do whatever you want in the house, just let us sleep ). I never slept that late as a teenager! we'll be in shock tomorrow!

My son doesn't go back until the 9th but he didn't get out until the 22nd. I was surprised at the businesses open today (non retail) since today is the Federal holiday.

We went back today. We were one of only 3 or 4 schools in Pennsylvania to go back today. My mom's friend's daughter was supposed to go back today, but over break the school district announced on their website I guess it was that they wouldn't be going back today. They will be going tomorrow.

We don't have kids, but the local schools were supposed to go back today. They are going back tomorrow instead. There are two conflicting reasons I've heard...

The local busses aren't running today because it's a government holiday (wouldn't they have known this when they made the schedule for the school year?) and supposedly a lot of the high school kids take the public bus to school.

The other reason I've heard is a lot of people were grumbling about not getting to watch the Iowa game today.

We go back tomorrow. I'd honestly like one more week off to just enjoy the kids. we rush so much that I didn't get half of what I wanted to do with them done.
