We are planning to take the kids to Kennedy Space Center tomorrow but I can't find any information that tells me how much time to plan on being there. Is it a full day experience? Can I bring my stroller? Or can the kids walk? Thanks in advance!

Allow about 6 hours .

This will include the cinema . There is the Space Rocket to look at ( Indoors )

The new attraction is the retired space shuttle .

There are plenty of activities for younger children.

There are a few eating places to fill in your time.

But is well worth a visit & take as long as you wish to stay.

You do not say how old the "kids" are, but I would take a stroller. It is quite a bit of walking. You do shuttle out to different places, but the stroller is helpful for while you are in the different buildings and walking around the "campus".

Also, there are places to eat, but just know that when I went to the food court area, I experienced sticker shock. It is expensive to run a space program, and they make sure to get their money where they can

Have a good time, you can spend as much time out there as you would like. I want to say we were there about 5 or 6 hours. Also, if you have boys and they are scouts, they can get a special badge for being out there.

My kids are 7 and 5 so they don't need a stroller per se, but we bring it with us for long days at WDW

It has been a few years, but when we went, we spent all day--but then, my husband and I are old enough to remember the moon landing!

It's a great day. Last time we got there at noon and stayed till closing. That was enough time to do the main bus tour and plenty of exploring at stop offs, look at the rocket garden, and ride the simulation ride. There are IMAX films too, but we had seen all at our local science center. I think the main thing is to have at least four hours to do the bus tour and take whatever time you want at each stop.

Don't eat food court. Repeat do not eat food court area. High prices and bad food. i am talking about mess up a salad and hamburger. By time i got WDW I could eat my arm and leg because I was so hungry. I was on kids scout trip to WDW.

Since your kids are ages 5 and seven, spending six hours seems like a sensible time to spend at the Space Center. The visit at that age will help imprint in their memory about a once great manned space program. When they are older and you return to visit, plan on a full day from opening to close.

The Kennedy Space Center also includes the Astronaut Hall of Fame which is not on the same property. Well worth a visit.

We have taken multiple trips to both facilities and plan on future visitis. It is an easy drive from Disney, but we stay locally for the visit.

We went on our trip last June. Our kids were 3 and 6 at the time. They loved it SO much they are begging to go back again. We ended up being there the day before the Atlantis exhibit was opened so we bought a season pass (it was much cheaper than paying for 2 days) and went back the following day.

You will definitely pay high prices for the food there...we went in 05 when my oldest was a toddler, and I still can't believe how much we paid for lunch. I can tell you we paid more there then we have for any WDW QS meal...and it was almost 10 years ago.

With kids that age, I wouldn't bring the stroller. It will make it easier for the bus trips out to all the places you can go see. There is a playground and even a water fountain for the kids to play out in the rocket garden. Plenty of opportunities for pictures. If the kids get tired just plop down somewhere and rest a while.

It was our go to place with the kids every Sunday when they were little.

Watch for gators in the ditches as you drive in . Also can see deer and eagles out there sometimes. Also watch for the soft shell turtles in the water by the astronaut memorial.

The food court is ridiculous, but there is a fabulous restaurant not far from KSC in Titusville. It's called Dixie Crossroads Seafood. It has VERY reasonable prices and the food is absolutely delicious. I used to work with the Space Center and ate there often! Wish I was there right now!!

DH and I are doing an adult only trip to Orlando and not planning on going to WDW this time. KSC has always been a place I wanted to visit but my girls are not interested. Are there any ways to get discounted admission? We have to keep this trip really cheap.

Undercover Tourist was our source for tickets when DH and I went. We got a two-day ticket and went straight there from the AutoTrain. We spent one and a half days and want to go back. We did one of the bus tours, the rocket garden tour, and every show we could as well as reading every sign at every exhibit.

We did this is in about three hours. We went on the bus shuttle part first, strongly recommend that and then the rest.We had been on a cruise and were heading back to Orlando. We may have skipped through some of this a little but we also skipped the food and made happy hour at the Embassy Suites.Another perspective. If you are over 55 make sure you get the senior price here.

My wife and I are planning on visiting the space center next month, and are looking forward to it. The last time we went they still had the shuttle on the launch pad, which was awesome, but it will also be pretty cool to see the shuttle up close! We are also looking forward to the shuttle launch experience, and to see how the tour has changed now that our space program is in a rethinking phase. It is definitely a good experience, and both my wife and I have visited the facility since our youth.

I'd like to heed the warnings away from the food court there. We have visited the Johnson Space Center in Houston and lunch was our only negative experience. Does anyone know if they allow in and out on the one day ticket? Could we get our hands stamped, go find somewhere else to eat lunch and come back again in the afternoon?

I think you'd have a pretty long drive to go out and get some lunch. The space center is really out in the middle of no where.

Packing a lunch would be your best alternative.

When we went in March we ate at a place right across from the playground, I'm thinking this is different from the food court that everyone is talking about. It was just a single line CS place, outdoors but covered. I thought it was very good, and about the same price as a typical Disney CS. Much better food though. Sorry I can't remember what it's called, but it's close to the front, should be pretty obvious.
