Have you used your Superbowl voucher?

Well, if your signature is like mine, it would be so hard to read that ANYONE could use it, LOL

I would actually think Universal would rather someone use a ticket than to have it go unused. I mean, selling them would obviously be wrong, but gifting it seems to just get another consumer into their park, so Universal would benefit. I guess they have to make it non-transferable to keep people from selling them.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the story with the Superbowl voucher? I went to the Superbowl this year...am I missing out on something?

BTW - GO STEELERS!

You had to be AT HOME watching the superbowl to get in on this deal :lmao:

During the Superbowl Universal aired 3 or 4 commercials which at the end prompted you to go to a special website to register for one of a 100,000 ( i think) tickets. Many of us registered and were fortunate enough to have been in the first 100,000. Though they didnt have all 100,000 for the last commercial registered for until Monday morning so just about anyone who registered won it seems.

I suspect that Universal was hoping that anyone who entered the contest actually needed or wanted a ticket that he/she could use for himself. If you didn't need a ticket or were planning on giving it away, then either don't enter or call your friend or family member up so they could enter.

I think it is similar to the Birthday ticket at Disney. I am sure that Disney marketing didn't think that most people would go to WDW alone for their birthday. I think they were counting on one person coming for the free birthday ticket and bringing others with them that would be paying for tickets. Same with the Supebowl ticket. One family member wins a free ticket and the others buy a ticket to accompany them.

If they were just wanting anyone to come for free just to get people to the park, they would have offered a coupon for a free ticket without putting the name or address on the voucher.

Ok, thanks. I'm glad I was at the Super Bowl:woohoo::yay::banana:

Not sure if I was in the targeted group(s) the promotion was intended - I was already planning a family trip and would have bought tickets anyways. The contest was a way to save the price of 1 ticket - but I did not read the fine print before I entered as our trip will not be until Jan. 10', the month after the vouchers expire. I am still going to try to use the free ticket on weekend solo trip in June to stop at Universal and also visit a friend - while the rest of my family is away for 2 weeks on a trip I can not go because of my work schedule. I also registered a family member who is going to Disney in November - I am not sure yet if they plan on using the ticket.

Your name is not on it at this time but that could change at anytime. Several people have said they had to sign their name on the ticket right after getting it but not everyone.

Thank you Phantom.

OT (sorry) but since you're such a great source :) Does Universal have a dinning type plan? If you'd rather pm me and send me a link to where an appropriate thread is, please do.

sharky, no dining plan at universal except the meal deal.

the details for meal deal are listed on the UO website.

some like it, some don't.

it is all counter service at select places.

Hey Macraven! Thank you very much. I'll still head over there and read up on it. We usually just snack along the way anyway.

I just got an email that I won another Universal ticket. This one is from my NBC affiliate; I entered that contest a few weeks ago. So......I guess since they aren't related to each other, I can get both of them, right? It says one per household on both of the rules, but they are different contests. The second one is good through March 2010.

Yes, you can pick up both of them. They are from two different contests.

How did you enter for this ticket? I'd love to win one! Thanks

Looks like it ended March 22. Funny thing is that my city/county were not even listed as being eligible, but I still won a ticket. I am wondering if these contests are giving tickets to everyone who enters, knowing they will not come alone, KWIM?

Mousesavers has a contest page here http://www.mousesavers.com/disneysweepstakes.html THere are Universal contests as well as Disney contests.

Could you please post if the new contest voucher looks the same as the original superbowl voucher? Dh received 2 vouchers in the mail on the same day. :confused3 He did enter both contests, but I am not sure if he won both as we did not receive an email confirmation for either as a winner. Or it's just a mistake.

We are visiting US in April and again in August, so both would be used.

I'm not sure if this has already been answered, but I'm concerned with the address verification. We are planning on using the free ticket in July but we are military and our home of record is TX so I have a TX drivers license with a TX address on it. We are currently stationed in NC so the name on the ticket will match but not the address. Is this going to be a problem?

You shouldn't have a problem if you show them your military ID and explain. I would go to Guest Services rather than the ticket window as they will be most able to assist you with this problem. If you have any mail addressed to you at the NC address, you could bring something just as proof.
