Have you used Priceline to book a resort?

I booked it. It worked. All the hotels were about $2 off from the perfect calculation of he 56% discount. I am pretty sure AKL was available too. I just booked CSR. I called and they gave me WDW conf # right away.

One reason I hesitate to use them for any family vacation is that they cannot guarantee the type of room. We need (at least) two beds and you could end up with a king. I suppose there's less chance of that happening at Disney though.
Oh, you have no idea how many times a day I have to argue with people that complain about bed types because they book through third parties.

I have in over 15 years of using Priceline...bidding or Express ( I have never booked full price with them), had an issue getting what I want, except one time. We were at a Best Western in Louisville and they would not budge on the king rooms (we had two for 5 people). It worked out because the two kids were little and they slept with my mom and my sister and I shared in the other room.

As for Disney, give me your dates and I will see if a Disney hotel is even being offered. I have never not gotten the exact hotel I think it will be. It's really easy to figure out which one you are getting based on price and discount, the star rating, opinion rating and amenities.

My Disney confirmation number was on my Priceline receipt that I got instantly. I added it to MyDisneyExperience right away, but did call just to confirm. Was transferred to Wholesale bookings and all is well. They were open to giving us a two bed room, but wouldn't guarantee it of course. If we end up with a King, I am not stressed for this trip

Is Bonnet Creek the only area to look at for WDW hotels on Priceline? I'm intrigued...

I've stayed at Bonnet Creek twice, and loved it both times.

This is good to know! I've used Priceline many times and have figured out which hotel I'm going to get. On express deals there will be times where it indicates bed choice is available. I never thought of trying to use it for WDW.

Just got Port Orleans French Quarter on a Priceline Express Deal. We were originally staying at All Star Music for a quick trip and cancelled that. The difference in price with the two reservations was $1.62 and that was a double discounted All Stars reservation. (Disney Discount and Orbitz)

I was just down in Orlando and got CSR again using Express Deals, for a quick one night stay for my daughter and I. $97! Caribbean Beach Resort also popped up AND AKL!! AKL was $196 for this past Friday night. It's amazing me how much they are showing up. I can get CBR for our trip in April too, for Spring Break! Already have CSR for that trip, but we might be adding a 3rd night and I will hopefully be able to get a Disney hotel again.

How do you see the actual hotel it is prior to booking, while looking as a guest it simply states 'hotel will be confirmed after booking' etc...

You have to look at Star Level, Rating level and amenities. Also, it will tell you what the price was and what the percentage off is. It lines up!

Like right now I have pulled up tomorrow night, just one night. Do Orlando. Then go down and filter to just show the Walt Disney - Bonnet Creek resorts. First thing on there is a suite at AofA, for 58% off.....don't even have to guess that one. I have seen this a few times now too, forgot about that.

OK, so forget about that deal, but if you then click on Express Deals, it will bring up a second window. ON there, you will see a 3star for $120, which is 56% off. Go back to the first page, which shows the Resorts and filter to 3stars. There are only 2 listed. The AofA and CBR. Do the math and there you go! It's the only option, it WILL be CBR! If there were two differennt 3star hotels with 8+ rating and both had Free Parking and Free Internet, then you couldn't determine which one and I personal wouldn't bid unless I loved the other resort it could possibly be. It is rare that I can't determine which resort is going to end up being the Express Deal...in any town, not just Disney.

Also, the other Express Deal for tomorrow night is a 4star with 8+ rating. The price is $181, which is 56% off. Go back and look at the 4stars and they are ALL Disney Resorts! Doing the Math, you get AKL!

Ahh thats some clever stuff! Let me check it out!

Thanks for the detailed response!

We have booked through Orbitz with a great deal and did not have any problems. We were able to link the room to MDE and we were all set. It was at the Poly and significantly cheaper than Disney site. We loved our room and stay.

Just booked Coronado Springs using Priceline Express Deals.....was SHOCKED to see it on there, but it was. Paid $99.90 a night with a 10% off coupon I had. And it's during Spring Break!

I use Priceline for every hotel stay. I do my research and have never had an issue, except once but that was years ago.
How did you find out it was coronado? isnt it just a generic 4 or 3 star then you find out?

If you look up three posts above your post MinnieMe explains how they go about figuring out what hotel it is before booking.

I was able to figure out they were offering the Swan and Dolphin for Thanksgiving. I got the Swan for $94 and the Dolphin for $86.

so you just go off the price before the discount? So if Caribbean beach is $209 on disneys website thats what ud go off of before their discount? how do u guys match up the out of 5 star rating?

In my case with the Swan and Dolphin resorts, it was pretty easy because they have a resort fee of $28.13. They don't have any other hotels with that same resort fee. The Swan has an 8+ Rating and the Dolphin as a 7+ rating and they are both 4 stars.

I've booked with Orbitz & Cheaptickets several times ... the only time I had any sort of an issue (and really, it was NOT a big deal) was when we left early because of hurricane Matthew. I wanted to release the room (we had one night we didn't use) so someone else could, but it was far more trouble than it was worth. Outside of that, no complaints with those booking agencies. Getting the MDE number was easy.

My experience with Priceline has been mostly positive so far. Booked a room at CBR for one night. Based on previous Priceline experience and MinnieMe2669, I was able to identify it & CSR very quickly. AKL wasn't available for my night. The only hiccup I had was adding my daughter to the reservation. The first time I tried via chat, the agent was adamant that it's a 2-person guarantee & I had to call disney. No problem, I call disney & they can't touch the reservation because it's 3rd party (which I expected would happen) ... so I sent an email request to Priceline, they responded immediately & I was able to add her via chat. Took just a few minutes. Everything looks as it should in MDE. I don't anticipate any other problems. :upsidedow
