We're using them right now staying at bay lake. Im posting this waiting on rock n rollercoaster. Our impressions are these are amazing. We only plan tomorrows rides at night when we decide what the next days park is. We've done switching on the fly too and in some cases were able to switch rides with current time slots and just o and ride.

The ease of use of the fast pass+ system is amazing honestly and the wifi performance in the parks is very tolerable for what you need it for.

If anyone has specific questions let me know. I'll try and check back tonight.

That one I can answer!

Today at Epcot we missed our window for spaceship earth (I know I know not the most popular but its July and everything's crowded). I decided to try and see if I could change it after the window closed and I was able to reschedule it for a window beginning 5 minutes later than the current time.

This scheduling was all done while walking through Mexico Pavillion towards spaceship earth realizing we had missed our window by a half hour already.

Very cool to do and when we got to spaceship earth we scanned our magic bands, the workers greeted us each by name and were so excited because we were their first magic band users on the ride.

The band is awesome and I can definitely see future enhancements for character meets where characters will already know your name before you even step up.

Thanks so much for stopping by and letting us know!!! I have three questions:

1. Did you plan ANY FP+ in advance?
2. How about your ADR's did you use the app?
3. Have you park hopped at all and used any standby lines? Or have you been able to get any regular FP??

1) we only do our fast pass+ selections the night before. No sense in worrying about it.
2) tried booking scifi tonight on my app but its booked.
3) we have hopped and regular fastpasses work fine too. It's almost like double dipping but we haven't really used old school fastpasses at all.

1) basically any attraction seems to have it so far we have noticed.
2) yea for sure but you get 1 hour windows for each ride but you can back to back them. Just hit near the end of the first and beginning of second and you're fine.

DS will be going with his friend 8-6--8-13. We ordered the Magic Bands on Monday and they arrived today. We set up the FP+ attractions yesterday and found it easy to navigate and make changes. I'm sure this has been mentioned on other threads, but in case anyone is wondering:

Signed on to MDE on the computer
Selected FP+ under MDE
Picked the date
Picked the park
Selected three attractions from the list
Receive Four options with fast pass times
Selected the one that we liked the best
Had the ability to change any or all of the time frames
Many options for time frame changes came up

For MK we got a bonus 4th FP+ for Pirates when we selected Splash Mountain, SM, PP

Also, can you use the FastPass+ to reserve seats for shows such as Fantasmic?

Really useful to hear people's actual experiences

I guess the thing that we all need to be conscious of is that the guests using FP+ right now are all part of a test phase.

Some of their experiences may not apply once FP+ is officially rolled out

For example: guests testing FP+ can still use regular FPs and that may not be the case when the rest of us can join in

I'm really curious to know how this is going to work for AP holders - we have will call vouchers to collect our APs on our next trip so we wouldn't be able to add an actual ticket number before we travel

Anyway, loving this thread - the most informative yet!

You can use FP+ to reserve preferred seating at things like Fantasmic, Wishes, and the Electrical parade.

I'm hoping lots of people use their allotments to reserve parades and fireworks, etc.That should free up more paper fastpasses. Unless, Disney cuts down the number of those that will be available. I'm still leaning towards not using FP+.

I noticed I had access to customize and order my magic bands on the regular website, then I checked MDE on my IPad app and it was the same info. So I actually used the IPad app to order bands and choose fast passes. I've used both interchangeably to tweak fast pass times.

If they show up as options. It seems these might be the most limited of all, at least for my dates. They have never shown up for me and I chose my FP+ on the very first day that people noticed you could sign up. I periodically go in and check for them and I've still never seen any of the shows or parades as options for FP+. I know that people have gotten then, I just think they must be pretty limited at this point.

Magic bands and fastpass+ aren't the same. The magic bands are available to most guests but the fastpass+ is only to select resorts right now for this phase

As far as using regular fastpasses, at check-in we got our bands and also RFID/magnet swipe cards as backups. Both are linked to our tickets so if our magic band fails we have a backup. The card is used to retrieve old fastpass system tickets if we desire.

Mde can be used on Pc or ios/android. Just need your login.

We're going on 8/17, have not received the e-mail/letter yet, but since we are staying in Contemp during August testing period, we were able to order (and already received!) the customized MagicBands, and were able to select FP+ for the days we are there.

It was fun to select FP this was vs running around the park! It lets us plan our day somewhat, makes everything that much less hectic.

It also ensures FP will never overlap with lunch (you can give yourself a decent chunk of time to have lunch) or with ADRs.

The experience of using MDE was actually a very pleasant one. The UI is good, the graphics are compelling, cheery, to us it was very user friendly. Then again, we did everything (hotel/tickets) through Disney, so didn't have AP, DVC, other tickets, etc, to deal with.

Don't know if we're part of the August test yet, but very much looking forward to it if we are!

P.S. Oh, and thank you for starting this thread!!! So tired of 30+ page threads of folk complaining incessantly about FP+ when they have no clue how it will work in the end and haven't used it themselves. So much negativity/stress! I'd say they need a vacation to the Happiest Place on Earth, but, well, that's what apparently causes them to be stressed in the first place!

FP+ Tester here.
Tried linking my tickets a while back when I first heard this may happen. They are on old passes. Couldn't do it.

Then about a week ago the customize bands popped up and I figured I'd try again. Well what do you know they worked. We linked and customized.
Received email that we would be part of the test.

Booked FP+(which I personally loved knowing that I don't have to run if I don't want to) As others reported it gave me lots of choices and all of the parades and shows were listed, as well as M&G's.

Status of bands changed to "Shipping soon". 2 days later I received email saying they shipped and they were here by 1pm. Odd thing is I also received the paper invite next day air yesterday. 2 days after the bands arrived. Someone is not communicating and wasting money.

My thoughts are we won't have too many people able to report about this from the parks because those of us who have been asked to test are the first mass testers. I do hope there are more though.

The bands look awesome and my DH and I are excited to test them. The kids don't know yet.
