Have You used DVC Points Outside WDW?

I'm hoping to be a new member soon. In the midst of ROFR at the moment. We are hoping to use our points to go skiing and to Costa Rica!

Can anyone share experiences using their points for other trips?

We go to WDW every year but are purchasing enough points to go on other trips too. We were told that DVC is a good trade because everyone wants to go to WDW.

I'm on day 18 of ROFR.
