What do you think of the following please:

-Uno's
-Five Guys Burgers
-Bahama Breeze
-Coconuts on the Beach (not in Orlando)
-Ocean Grill (not in Orlando)

Please let me know what you think of these, I am trying to book some off site dining and these all look pretty good to me.

Bahama breeze was one of my favorite places to eat here until they closed it. very good food and wonderful drinks!!

Five Guys Burgers is a fast food chain. It is very basic in that it only has burgers, hot dogs and fries, but it is DELICIOUS! It is not a sit down meal but if fast food is what you are looking for, this is a great choice.

Hope that helps!

I haven't been to that specific Five Guys, but they have yummy burgers and fries at the ones I've been to. If you have anyone with peanut allergies, cross it off your list- they fry in peanut oil and have buckets of peanuts there for people to eat.

We LOVE Bahama Breeze! They closed the one here in St. Louis, so it's now a must do every time we get to Disney!
And it's really close to Disney property!:thumbsup2

We just had dinner at Bahama Breeze with visiting family. I was totally embarrassed by the poor quality of the food, and the horrible service.

Can't say as I'll be going there again real soon. :sad2:

For some nice offsite options the Dr. Phillips area has several very nice places. Melting Pot, Moonfish, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, Morton's, Too Jays (deli, but boy is it good!) Cedar's (excellent middle eastern food, extensive menu) Roy's...

Any of those are about a ten minute drive from DTD.

I've been to the Uno's in Michigan. They are a sit down style restaurant. I would compare them to an Applebee's or Fridays. They were very good. Not cheap, but good.

Five Guys, as others have said is more of a fast food kind of place, but it is great, fries are awesome and burgers! Just consider it CS at Disney for style.

Uno's, pizza place in the same category as Chili's etc. I really like it, they also have a wide variety of non-pizza options

What do you think of the following please:

-Uno's - Chicago style pizza. The orginal one in chicago is much better than the chain. The pizza is tasty, but heavy on the bread (crust), which is kind of heavy and a bit greasy, if you will. It's good, but not low-cal. Deep dish pizzas also take a while. I've never been to the one in Orlando though, just elsewhere.

-Five Guys Burgers - low on decor, but great burgers topped with all kinds of stuff, if you want. Their menu is minimal - fries, dogs, burgers, and not much else (I think they also have a veggie burger, grilled cheese), quick, inexpensive, and free peanuts while you wait

-Bahama Breeze - never dined there but DH liked it

-Coconuts on the Beach (not in Orlando) - don't know these
-Ocean Grill (not in Orlando)

here's a great thread about offsite dining. It's an old thread, but there are recent entries. If you aren't afraid to drive a little, if you go up 192 a ways, there's a great Italian place: La Forchetta, in Kissimmee on John Young Parkway.

Near to WDW (also near 192) is a place called Smoky Bones. I think there are several in Orlando. It was pretty good when we went there about a year ago.I think the other one was up near the airport/the north end of I-Drive near Universal.

We discovered Bahama Breeze 2 years ago and ate there quite a bit. Last year, we went and the food was fine, but the bathroom was BEYOND disgusting (we were at the Lake Bryan location on Vineland). It turned me off so much we are skipping BB this year. We are heading to Carrabba's instead.

A GREAT place to eat is the Villa de Flora restaurant in the Gaylord Palms hotel. We went last year and DH is so excited to go back. It is a buffet restaurant, very upscale and pretty (GP hotel is gorgeous). The buffet is to die for!

Mmmmmm...Uno's. I really miss those. Very rich, but oh so good.

We have Uno's, Five Guys and Bahama Breeze by my house and they are all fanastic. I find that no matter where these chain places are they all taste the same, no matter what city or state.

we have a five guys right neat us at home. LOVE this place. it's fast food and simple. but the burgers are to die for and the french fried, AWESOME!!! i love this place

uno's we have those too. it's a typical chain. i do prefer it over other chains.

bahama breeze, we actually put that on our list for this trip. my dad also recommended it and told me that we went there when i was kid. not sure if i remember it

we have been using tripadvisor.com to find off-site restaurants. last trip we discovered that we had better food and and saved money going off property. we always have a rental car, cause dh prefers to. we arent eligible for the dining plan, but can get a 20% discount at some restaurants. but overall we like dining for dinner off property some nights.

Uno's - :thumbsup2

Although the one in Vegas closed some time ago, when we travel and there's a Uno's, we will always dine there, just for the Chicago style pizza!!

I live in Northern Virginia where Five Guys was started way back when, and I have to agree with everyone else. Its very low on decor, but it makes up for that five times over with the burgers! They have been Zagat rated for many years and are always in the Washington Post's top favorite cheap eats around here. For my family (5 including mom, dad, brother, hubby and myself) I don't think we have ever spent over 30 bucks and everyone comes out full!

Other then that in the Orlando Area I've eaten at Charlie's Steakhouse which has AMAZING steaks. Grilled over orange wood to give it a great smokey flavor. It can run a little high but its always worth it. It's over off of Orange Blossom Ave.

Tijuana Flats Burrito Company is a really good mexican place. All the food is made fresh and it really shows. We had one up in DC for a while and DH and I are longing for a Orlando trip cause we miss the food alot!

Another place that is very family friendly is Bucca De Beppo. Family style Itallian with more menu choices then two sit down dinners put together. You can find them online, and they are all over the country.

The other places to try would be ( Lord I know Im gonna get Flamed :scared1: )
Universal City Walk... I know I know FLAME ON! However my DH and I really enjoyed the Movie and Dinner Deal they had. For 19.95(at the time not sure now) You got a movie voucher and dinner for two. ( you could get it for more then two as well, I'd call to make sure) We ate at the Latin Quarter, but you could choose from the Hard Rock, Emril's, and basically all of the palces down there.

Hope that helps a bit !

Not adding much regarding Five Guys, but it's one of the best burgers I've had, and their Cajun fries are always delish AND they offer malt vinegar for the fries, something that more places need to do.

Bahama Breeze has never done anything for me, and I say this as a fan of Caribbean food. It's good if you are looking for someplace 'safe', but, at least in Atlanta, there are far better options to be had.
