Have you stopped playing VMK lately?

I understand that several DIS who played VMK since beta are gone of their own accord, mostly because of the "dating", "having babies", "rudeness", and other assorted drama that came with what was supposed to be this innocent game for all ages (I checked with Yavn through Bella. He says VMK is for everyone.) and has turned out to be the most dangerous thing Disney has come up with. :(

I've found myself surfing the web more than playing VMK, and for some reason, I don't feel worse off by not logging in regularly and hoarding credits. Heck, I don't even know if they still have the Halloween decorations up.

But yeah, is VMK still just as popular as ever?

I've been cutting down too! They now make there events stink..winners picked at random? They find that FAIR?!!?!! I don't even do my cfedit runs anymore, I just kinda sit in my room and don't talk to anyone. Why even bother to play anymore?

Because it is fun to hang out with dis friends, that is why I stay.

I play as regularly as I used to. I like hanging out and chatting with the friends I've made there. I like playing the games and have seen improvements in the way the recent events have been run (still not perfect, but definitely improving). I'll continue to play as long as I'm having fun.

I guess I could make a checklist to what would drive me away from VMK (and slowly has) :

- ignorance
- beggers
- the word, "taken"
- the abbreviation, "plz"
- Vain, nonexistent Staff
- Lame event after event
- Jealousy

It's my prediction that VMK will not live to see another Christmas.

I believe you make it as fun as you want it to be. If you whine & complain about the little things, then no, it would not be fun. I play just as much now as I did in the past.

I have learned to ignore the small problems, petty beggers, plea's for boy/girl friends and nagging people. They only bother you if you let them. I love gifting people things, that makes it really fun for me.
I enjoy the games (even though I stink at most of them) and chatting with my dis friends, dancing at closing, and shopping for new things when they come out. I also enjoy the fun games the dis'ers put together to make it even more fun on VMK.
Yes VMK has had some major dissapointments and challenges, but remember...its a game. If everyone whines & complains about it, they will most likely shut the whole thing down anyway. It is up to us to make it fun, and if its not longer fun, then most likely its time to move on.
Until that happens, I'm still playing.

Just curious why would you make such a statement?

If there's one thing Disney has not been able to predict is human behavior in cyberspace. I'm not saying that all people who use the interweb to "do their business" are rude, ignorant, and showed poor social skills (if everyone was like that, we would never be welcome on DIS), but one cannot deny the fact that there is alot of garbage online. It takes special care to seek out the good.

I still love VMK. I have met so many special people and made some great friends. It is my sincere hope that VMK not only survives, but flourishes!

That is why i don't surf all of those popular rooms and don't use the hot guy face on mine. I don't have to worry about it.Neither should you. Just leave or boot.

I haven't been on as much either. I check in here and there but I am busy with finals. i checked in today & was shocked to find that the Halloween Decorations are still up! I will keep checking the Dis borad for new stuff then I log on.

but you used the word "dangerous" which is a really strong word and was wondering what you had to back up the use of that word.

Still wondering.

So first people complain that they sit all day trying to get into rooms for events, crashing when they finally get in. So they make an event where you can do it whenever you want, no lines, and you still complain?

I still love VMK and I choose as others to have fun. Dis ppl are always great and fun. Walk away and ignore others. And or try to help and teach them the rules. Some new ppl jsut don't know, they copy others. After speacking with some I have heard that over and over again. Maybe we can help to be the light in the "darkness" but I personally think its great. Wish they did have more games to play with others as pirates though. :cheer2:

Winners picked at random is the most fair thing I think they could do.
But the limited small percentage of winners is disappointing. I am glad
that at least this time, I not only could participate , I actually
won something, even if it is two hyena pins!

I happen to enjoy that prize as I collect all the pin sets. :)

I will second that Briar.
I enjoyed working and playing the event. Everyone who got the answer got a prize. Those who read the rules and the explanation of the event would have known not everyone was going to win. Getting the two hyena pins is kinda cool I think.

And I'm really glad they put descriptive info on the pictures after the
first day. I would never have solved the quest without them.

I personally have quit playing as much as I was for some unexplained reason. So have several others that I know of. During the holiday I had a neighbor's tree fall and take out our power, phone and cable lines. It took us a day to get power back, two for phone and a week for cable. So we were unable to access the internet for a week because we have cable modem service. When we got everything back I had no real interest to log back into VMK. It was wierd. I realized over that time how much VMK was taking me away from my family with me logging in every night for hours at a time. I had almost decided to quit VMK entirely, but have decided to cut back to a few hours 2 or 3 times a week. The others I have talked to have also felt the same way. It is like there was something in VMK keeping us coming back (like subliminal messaging) and when we got away from it for the holiday, it allowed us to break free from it and see what had been happening. Now I am not saying VMK is spouting subliminal messages, I was just using that as an analogy. I find it very wierd that I know several others that have an unexplained feeling to cut back like I have and now this post shows up. Wierd :3dglasses !
