We just reserved 2 cat 11 rooms 6089 and 6087(this one is beside laundry room), has anyone stayed in either of these rooms?:

No, and I would not. Too much potential for hallway noise for a fussy person like me.

Last cruise as I was standing outside the laundry room after midnight doing laundry I was thinking about the people in the rooms across and next to as two of the others doing laundry were standing right in the hallway by the room across the hall talking....I don't think I would like having people milling about and talking in front of my door at all hours. I didn't even like walking past the laundry rooms with the amount of heat coming out of that place!

I was directly across from the laundry on Deck 2 but it never bothered me (and I'm a light sleeper). Next to the laundry, I'm not sure. Is it open all night?

On our January 2004 cruise, our friends had two connecting category 9 rooms directly across from the laundry rooms. It seemed like the hallway was warm sometimes from the heat of the dryers, but they said that they were very happy with their rooms and they did not hear any noise.

Enjoy your trip!

We were across the hall from the laundry and had no problems. If you are concerned you could try calling DCL for 2 different rooms and if they have them available they will switch you no problem and then you can put it out of your mind. Good Luck:tongue:

We stayed directly across the hall from a laundry room in June. The hall was a bit warm, but it didn't bother us as we were only out there for a few moments. I didn't notice any noise when we were in the room, and it certainly didn't disturb our sleep. If you are able to switch rooms, great, if not, don't worry too much!

I"m very glad to hear that most of you didn't mind being near the laundry. We have Category 9 connecting rooms across from the laundry on Deck 2 for our cruise in February. I really want to keep these connecting rooms and I've decided not to worry about being across from the laundry.

Thanks for the encouragement!!

:)

Where are the laundry areas? We are on deck 2 and was curious if we were near a laundry. I'm not too worried about noise from a laundry area as we are traveling with our 4 kids and most of the noise will be coming from inside our cabin, not outside.

I was across from the laundry room last time on deck 6 and I loved it! I could peck in any time to find a vacant washer. Never had to wait in a line for the iron because you could see when it was free. We never heard any noise with our door closed.
I wish I was across from it again, this time I am down the hall quite a bit.

We are in connecting cabins 2094/2096 and I understand we are right across from the laundry.

We sailed on the Wonder in September and were directly across from the laundry room on deck 7 (cabin 7588 and 7590). I did NOT like it. There was a lot of foot traffic and people milling about, especially at dinner time, etc. when they would pop in to iron. The first night I had to ask two women to hush at 1 a.m. because they were talking very loudly while they did their laundry. (by the way, they kept talking!)

I totally understand the need to do laundry but not the need to have animated conversations while there. On a positive note, it was convienent if you do a lot of ironing, etc. One women had three little kids (two in diapers and tights) lined up in the hall awaiting their freshly ironed clothes. If they were not so absolutely adorable I would have been mad (they blocked my cabin door!) but they were so cute.:)
