Have you seen this?

Did not get a chance to read the whole thread but there was a video of the bikers earlier in the day riding down on the wrong side of the street through a red light and banging on a Prius that almost hit them. I can bet that almost all of the bikers DO NOT HAVE A MOTORCYCLE LICENSE. I don't know if ATV's are illegal on the streets, but there was a few of them in the latest video.

incorrect, video was actually 2011. The media didnt get it right...

It's shocking to hear grown men pounding a vehicle's windows when a 2 year old girl is in the car.

I can't imagine the fear Mr. Lien had for his family when the car was breached.

And possibly an undercover officer was pounding the back of the vehicle.

I am sick to my stomach!

So far everyone arrested has a suspended or revoked license, what a surprise

Latest news today, in addition to the NYPD undercover detective being arrested:

There is definitely a new video of the beating - possibly by a different person. It seems farther away, like shpt from the street. Maybe a bystander with a camera phone? A tiny sliver was given to the press. It shows just when the Good Samaritan had stepped in and was yelling at the bikers to back off. You can see about 6-7 bikers start to step back and move away. The poor SUV driver is lying on the ground. When he realizes it is over, he tries to push himself up, then (I think) collapses back down. (The police has said days earlier, when they arrived, that the SUV driver was lying on the ground.)

From that new footage, the NYPD today released FOUR pictures of new bikers that they say have to do with the beating. Including the two arrested already, (not including the brake checking guy,) that makes 6 people directly involved with the beating, so far.

As for the NYPD undercover detective. He didn't tell this superiors that he was even there till 3 days later. Then he lied about when he had shown up.

IMO, at the time right before the beating, he may have been trying to keep his cover, by beating on the window. The new video shows him hitting the car window once, kicking the car door once, then getting immediately on his bike and driving away, so he was not involved with the beating. (Nor did he do anything to stop it, like tell the guys, "Hey lets re-think this."

BUT, if he was trying to use the "not wanting to blow my cover," card, he STILL could have gone in to his superior the NEXT day and given an account of the incident and described the beaters in detail. Maybe given some names. :sad2:

Since being arrested, his cover is now blown. :p

Police Comm, Ray Kelly was interviewed, he said a second NYPD cop was also at the event, off-duty, but videos show he played no part with the savages who beat the SUV driver. He really was too far back, or something like that. Kelly was mumbling that part.

Never a dull day in the Big Apple. ;)

Breaking News on 11pm local ABC News:

A SECOND man was arrested today! :thumbsup2
In addition to the NYPD undercover detective, another biker, Clint Caldwell, was arrested. The portion of the video on Youtube ends before showing this part, but the police confiscated the whole tape which shows this man was the one who actually pulled the SUV driver out of the car and beat him (along with the others.) He will be arraigned tomorrow on a number of charges.

The man arrested yesterday, Craig Wright, had reached into the broken window and punched the driver 3 times. And then also beat him once he was on the ground.

Details on the NYPD undercover detective: His name is Det. Wojciech Braszczok, he is 32 years old, and was a 10 year veteran of the NYPD. :sad2: He will probably be charged with rioting & criminal mischief tomorrow.

The count so far of those arrested as of today is SIX.

Reginald Chance, 37 (smashed driver's window)
Christopher Cruz, 28 (brake Check guy)
Robert Sims, 35 (tried to open the SUV door as it was trying to get away. )
Craig Wright, 29 (one of the beaters)
Clint Caldwell, 32 (pulled driver out of SUV & beat him)
Det. Wojciech Braszczok, 32 (undercover NYPD detective for 10 years, hit the SUV's window & kicked the door)

NYPD are still looking for 4 more bikers, (mentioned in post above.)

The problem I have with this so called undercover detective is that he wasn't working, he wasn't on an assignment. So he didn't have to take part in anything, he chose to. I firmly believe the only reason he came forward at all is he realized he was on the video otherwise I don't think he would have come forward at all.

Oh! Good point. Since the news kept calling him an undercover drug detective, I thought he was assigned to work with these guys, many who obviously have a long rap sheet. I forgot that later they said he was off-duty.

A reporter, tonight, did interview one of his neighbors, who said he bought the bike for himself, (not work) about 3 years ago.

Theres a related article about some undercover detective blew his cover and it causes him to lose his job or something... but thats not the reason why hes in trouble. The problem is, there is evidence that he was the one that broke the rear window of the SUV...

Thanks for the info! Here on the West Coast we get a little burb in the paper. I was really wondering about the 'undercover cop'.

This particular detective would not lose his job if he "blew his cover" which since he wasn't working would have been hard to do. Now he is going to lose his job and maybe go to jail.

A family boo hooing all over the news that their family member was " viciously attacked" by an SUV driver and demanding charges be filed. But when I watched the video, I see a pack of idiots taking over the road, terrorizing drivers, and provoking the " attack" . They gave the guy a brake job, sashed his tires and smashed his windows and he took off to get away. They later dragged him from the SUV and beat him in front of his wife and 2 year old. I hope the motorcyclists all get arrested. Their fault!

The front bike rider deliberately slowed down sharply to start the whole thing off, there where several undercover cops so that should help get them.

I find it interesting that the undercover policeman "lost his union attorney after friction over his bogus story" and is now using a civilian attorney. This must be his choice? I would think that as a police officer if you wanted a union attorney you would get one regardless, right?

The union might have told him he has nohope of winning his case, or maybe he didn't like their attorney. He needs a slime ball attorney, that's what he wants. A Gloria Alfred. That's rob ably not what they had.

Where did you hear this? I've only heard that he punched the rear window & kicked the door, then left.

Interesting. I haven't heard about this either. If you guys do hear/read some other stuff that I haven't posted as "Latest news", DO post about it for all of us. Like someone above posted the article about the undercover cop from the NY Post. :thumbsup2

Basically, I'm following the local ABC affiliate news here. It's hard to watch all channels for info as once I've watched one station, by the time I turn to either local CBS or NBC news, on at the same time, they've covered the story during the same time I'm watching it on ABC and I don't know if they've said something new. :headache:

 What was he thinking?! What were any of these off-duty undercover cops thinking? How can you swear an oath to serve and protect people, and then go out and do the very opposite? :sad2:

Racist? Or Mob Mentality? Or High? &/or Not wanting to blow his true agenda (dealer)?

I don't understand it either. But this is not the first instance of a cop acting in a criminal manner nor is it unique to NYC cops. :(

I think when they are in a mob acting like that they think they are anonymous. They don't think they will ever be caught or identified and they clearly were acting like a bunch of animals. And from all the videos, they have been getting away with this behavior for years so why stop now?
