I love to character hunt! Your list looked alot like mine! I just returned from a trip (Oct 29 to Nov 7), and I saw a few on your list. Here's overly detailed low-down:
Atta - I never actually saw her on my recent trip, but I did not spend much time at AK. On previous trips I alway seen her across from the Creature Comforts Store at AK, and Flik greets in the same spot.
Jane and Prince Eric - Never seen either. I have asked about Jane and she is never out on my trips. Gave up on both.
Brer Rabbit - On Sat Nov 6 I saw him and Brer Bear by the exit/restrooms to Splash Mountain. I was at MK many different days and that was the only day I saw Brer Rabbit.
John Smith - Not recently, but in April I saw him by the Big Hat at MGM. If he is out greeting nowadays, he would probably be by the entrance of MGM with Pocahontas. I was at MGM many different days and never saw him last week.
Little John - have not seen him anytime recently. Heard on another board that people saw him over the summer in Town Square at MK in the mornings.
Darkwing - I finally met him on my last trip. He was at
MNSSHP and many mornings I saw him in Town Square at MK. Surprised me to see him out so much!
Thumper - I met in Town Square at MNSSHP!! I was thrilled! Never saw Thumper during normal park hours on my trip, though.
Rabbit - On my last trip, without trying, I just happened upon Rabbit in the back of the Toy Store in England at Epcot!
Shang - another miss in my book. I actually asked the Chip hotline and he was never out. I even asked Mulan herself about Shang, and she told me he will be out on Valentine's Day, and MGM would be the best place to look on normal days.
As for the Three Little Pigs, YES! They are out! On Saturday Nov 6th I met Fiddler and Practical Pig, and the Wolf, too! (Never saw the 3rd pig, Piper Pig). They were by the Castle.
