Have you ridden Nemo first thing on a MM in the Summer?

If so, do you remember how long your wait was?

I have to be EXTREMELY detailed with my itinerary for this next trip (bringing along 2 extra adults and 2 extra children in addition to our family of 6). Trying to fit everything in (we'll have 5 days). We've never bothered to go on Nemo because of the long lines, but I'm trying to figure out where to fit it in on this trip.

I'm using RideMax, but it won't account for a MM, and I figured we'd (waste, lol) our MM heading over to Nemo first thing (normally we would head straight to PP, of course). I typed in 7 rides for a 7 hour period, and the RideMax thing is telling me to put off Nemo until 2pm! UGH! Even at that, the wait is predicted to be 40 minutes.

I should ignore RideMax, and head straight to Nemo if I want a short line, yes? If anyone can remember what their wait times were like for Nemo first thing on a MM, do tell (please!)!

TIA!!

I did Nemo first thing on a MM. We were still in line 45 min. and it was not worth it (just my opinion of course :)) But I do think the lines are WAY shorter in the morning than at 2 pm.

I have but I grabbed a FP first and got in about 5 minutes after rope drop. I think we got in the line about 20 minutes after MM started. The wait was about 20-25 minutes.

We were at DL last summer in July. We were at park opening, not an MM day either and as we were walking over to get space mountain fast passes, we noticed that Nemo had a five minute wait. We jumped right on that, it wasn't even five minutes...we walked right onto the sub. It was awesome. So, if you head there first thing, your wait won't be long at all. The other times we've ridden Nemo, we've gotten in line five minutes before park closing and had no wait as well. Hope this helps!

I have ridden it during an MM and still had a 40 minute wait. The shortest Nemo wait I have ever had was at night during the busy week of Easter, actually, right around the time of the fireworks. It was a walk-on, as are a lot of rides during/after the fireworks!

Thanks SO much for your lightning fast responses everybody!

I wouldn't even waste my time on this ride if it was just going to be my hubby and kids. But, my MIL hasn't been to DL in 30 years (wow!), and the 2 little girls she and FIL are raising have never been, and probably will not get back there during their childhood. Soooo, I'm trying really hard to honor MIL's request to fit in EVERYTHING during our 5 days in the parks.

I will just head straight there first thing on MM. (or...should I schedule it during fireworks?!!) Opinions, anybody?

Last December I rode Nemo first thing in the morning (on a MM) and I was nearly first in line.

Best thing to know is that with MM, being the first people at the gates before they open really helps to get on Nemo w/out a wait. When guests are allowed in the park, Nemo is one of the biggest draws and the line will fill up fast. Of course, the trade is to wait for a long time in line outside the park. ;)

The shortest waits I've had were later at night after the fireworks and especially right before the park closes.

I'm not sure I'd waste a MM on Nemo. Even if you are one of the very first people to the ride, it's a very slow loader/unloader, plus a LONG ride by Disney standards. And if you are herding a large group, you likely won't be one of the first people there.

I was waiting at the gates on a MM, walked four kids there, and still waited at least 20-30 minutes. We got off the ride and only beat the regular rope-drop crowd to Space Mountain by about 5 minutes, so it ate up the whole hour.:sad2: And this was a Tuesday in October!

I'm not sure there is a "good" time to see Nemo, but it will eat up 30-plus minutes on a MM.

The last two times we went to DL: in Aug of 2007 and end of June 2009--we rode Nemo first on our MM day. Both times we were on one of the first two subs heading out--maybe a 5 minute wait but no longer than that.

Last summer we did our MM on Tuesday June 30, and we rode Nemo, then went over and rode Space Mountain, then PP with about a 10 min or less wait, then rode Mr. Toad, Alice and Matterhorn before the park opened. After the park opened we headed over to get a FP for Splash and there was NOBODY over in New Orleans Square or Critter Country. Rode Splash 3 times in a row without getting off before anyone else showed up.

I know, that isn't typical, but it was summer, busy season--so busy that they were adding a third Fantasmic show each night.

We just got to the MM at 6:30 and were one of the first through the gates at 7.

My kids were 9 and 10 at the time, so they really don't care about Dumbo. That one definitely sucks up a lot of time because it's a very slow loader.

I sympathise with you planning to suit every one! The only way to ensure you have a relatively short wait will be do what one OP said - be at the entry gates very early, be in the front of rope drop and make sure very one walks very briskly to he ride.

If that is unlikely to happen with your group, you may have to wait. We have always riddden it this way, and never had a line issue. Others prefer to go when parades are one (maybe WOC might help yo out on this one!) or at the end of the night.

Why not ask those you are planning for whether they ant to use their time this way. With that big a group, and only one mm, I would probably go for Fantasyland. (Subs are really not that worth the wait!)

I wouldn't do Nemo during MM. It just eats up too much time. You have 5 days- you can easily do it first thing on a non-MM day or in the evening. My preference is to hop in line right before the park closes. Then you aren't wasting an time on it- you'd just be exiting the park. Plus the wait is short.

During MM, you can do just about all of Fantasyland in the time it takes to just do Nemo. Not worth the sacrifice!

I agree with the PP. Do Nemo first thing on a non-MM morning. It will still probably be a 20 minute wait, but you won't be wasting your MM. Use your MM for Fantasyland.

This is what I'm thinking...UGH! I don't even want to waste time on this ride at all, but again, I'm treating my in-laws to this vacation and my MIL is not in great health (but trying hard to get better), etc., so it will most likely be her very last trip to DLR. She hasn't been to DL in 30 years, and this will be the only time she'll get to experience the parks with her grandkids and the 2 girls she and FIL are raising (who are 8 & 9). So, I feel strongly about trying to make it the best trip possible for her. She has specifically asked to "do everything".

I love my MM's in FL, though! I am loathe to give it up for the subs! I think I will tell them that we will check the Nemo line late each night before leaving. The other thing I thought to do, was to have my 2 oldest kids (18 & 12) walk very quickly ahead of us as we get through the gates (MIL will only be able to manage normal-to-slow walking speed) up to Nemo, check the wait times, and then call me on my cell phone to tell me if the line is worth it. If not, they'll just walk over and meet us at PP so we can do our "usual" FL routine.

We are planning to be at gates on MM at 6:15am. Well, me and ALL of the kids, that is. DH will then go park in the parking structure with MIL and FIL and they'll take the tram over to meet us in line.

Thanks so much for your opinions and advice, everybody!!! I really appreciate it!

We stayed at DLH and arrived at the monorail around 7:45 and onto the first train that left at 8:01. We were walking to Nemo with the rest of the monorail passengers around 8:10. No one from the front of the park appeared to have made it there yet. We didn't walk on, but didn't wait for more than a few minutes and were off and leaving at 8:30.

If I only had 1 EE though, I'd definitely do Fantasyland instead!

We did Nemo first thing after rope drop in June 2008 on a 2 different non MM days. We were very successful both times- one morning we were the second sub out and another morning we were the 4 sub out. But, we did walk extremely fast to get over there.

I wouldn't waste an MM on it though. It will take up the whole hour. Use a non MM day, be at the gates early and walk with purpose. Even if you get there and there's already a 20 min wait it will go quickly.

Good luck!

I would go first thing in the morning. It was still packed when we tried to go during fireworks. We did HM, POTC first thing one morning, and Nemo first thing another. Otherwise, the POTC line was HUGE, and Nemo was at least a 45 minute wait.

Thanks for the insight....I will have to look over the itinerary again and see where to fit it in. I am glad it seems to make more sense not to waste a MM on it!

We won't be able to really "walk with purpose", probably. It will probably take us a good 10 minutes to walk from the gates back to Nemo, as MIL really isn't able to walk fast.

Darn, really?!! I was totally hoping I could just leave Nemo for late at night.

We did last year and waited 5 minutes because it was there first run in the AM during MM.

LOL, I am really TOTALLY baffled as to when to try to fit this in!

Maybe I'll ask around the boards in the days leading up to our trip to see what kind of Nemo waits people are experiencing, and plan from there.
